@snoopy789 I've not tried it, yet, but with your comment I'm curious if you've tried it, and gotten [that] negative result?

@🤸🏻‍♀️Suisen🤸🏻‍♀️ Nothing seems easy at first, with a lot of practice using an hammer you develop a touch how to start a nail into the surface... smiley

@🤸🏻‍♀️Suisen🤸🏻‍♀️ About fifty two years ago, I assisted my Father and Grandfather in building a cabin in northern Minnesota. I tried all the tricks. And my thumb turned black and blue the most...lol…. smiley

“If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail.” This is a famous quote by Abraham Maslow which refers to a concept commonly known as the 'law of instrument' or Maslow's Hammer. It refers to an over-reliance on a familiar or favorite tool.

@🤸🏻‍♀️Suisen🤸🏻‍♀️ At my place, tourists mostly care about the mosquitoes and what to eat. The worst danger is to lose their flip flops or mobiles if they unattended long time at the beach

@Nasos travelling as a single woman,
there was definitely times i felt unsecure,
Turkey and Greece being the top 2 i felt unsecure from mens treatment

@🤸🏻‍♀️Suisen🤸🏻‍♀️ I lived in hotels and camps for years, used a lockable ammo box to keep things in and screwed it (from the inside) to the floor.

@Buttless i dont think its allowed to screw holes in the floor??

@🤸🏻‍♀️Suisen🤸🏻‍♀️ Swing bar door restrictors can only be latched from the inside. Pro hotel room thieves prefer you out of the room when they break in..

@SimonM not always thieves thats the problem....

@🤸🏻‍♀️Suisen🤸🏻‍♀️ I mentioned thieves in relation to the video, that's generally the purpose of hotel break-ins.

Assuming the level of noise using this method is not a deterrent to the person breaking in knowing someone will be inside, a door restrictor taped closed (which is where I believe this woman is heading) will make it easier to break in as it will fail at the same time as the main lock with very minimal additional force and much less noise. If you are thinking more for home security, use a deadlock. It's 100's of times stronger and doesn't leave tape residue on the door.

I think this woman has been binge watching McGuyver and thought it was real.

@🤸🏻‍♀️Suisen🤸🏻‍♀️ I can't believe anyone would buy one of those today considering the types of home security options available now, but those and the even less effective door chain versions are still sold in every hardware shop.

I've never seen them in hotel rooms either..

@🤸🏻‍♀️Suisen🤸🏻‍♀️ You should be. They're great, the harder you push against them, the better they work.
