Do you go in for the Turkey, dressing, cranberry? Is it a family dinner, with all, of the drama? Is it a large scale event? Does your whole family still get together? Do you care what it represents? Is it a tradition that you are going to keep alive, and pass down to your kids? Or is it old news, and over. Is it pointless, and dying, as a celebration? Is it just an opportunity for family squabbles?

No, no and ..... no again. We save all that up for the main event - Christmas.

Would it be against the consitiution in the USA to celebrate Thanksgiving DAY in another month and still call it Thanksgiving DAY? Just a little query.

Is there no copyright law? What next, Independence day on Bruce Springsteen's birthday? Summer holidays at the beginning of March? and what about Christmas day on the 25th July so those beach parties could have roast Turkey/Ham/Beef on the beach?

Some of us live in a world in reverse and that can't be good now, can it?

I love thanksgiving. Ours is a small gathering as my family is scattered far and wide. But my daughter and her family come over and we have turkey and ham. I love it. I hope long after I am gone it still is a thing in my family. mom has her meal with the family around her. Thanksgiving is the day to say thank you to everyone,be thankful for everything you have enjoy the day. no fighting.

This is a North American holiday both celebrated in USA and Canada just not in the same month. I think the majority of members here are not from North America hence the lack of response where usually a thread like this is otherwise full of festive spirits.

Wishing ALL Americans an early Happy Thanksgiving smiley and Canadians a belated one! Gobble, Gobble !!

May you and your loved ones be blessed.

Well I use to have Thanksgiving But my family or "What's left" as many have passed on smiley is scattered so I'm by myself and I don't eat meat anymore so it will and is just a small thing and missed for me. I do miss my son very much but he's moved down south for work! smiley smiley

@manditoe I know what you mean. Thanksgiving was once more people than we could fit in the house...then every year there were fewer. Now there's open spaces at the table.
