Do you want your Country to lose it's identity, and merge into a Global melting pot...losing your cultutre, and it's beliefs...or do you want your country to stay Independent..Nationalist. Where the names Scottish, English, American...still stand for something? Still represent the people that live there? What do YOU think?

People that need other countries and don't have anything to offer on their own will say globalist

Anyone with half a brain that comes from a self sustaining, prosperous nation will say nationalist

I am a Nationalist. As an American, the only way I would ever be a Globalist, is if my rights were globalized. I will live under NO law other than the constitution.

I don't know what you people think Globalism or Nationalism are but here are some short definitions you could start with:

Nationalism - first of all this is a phenomenon which has its roots in Europe and although peoples of pre-colonial Asia, Africa, Australia & the Americas had similar concepts, what we understand today as Nationalism comes mostly from the European understanding of it; most historians and political scientists place the birth of the idea of the sovereign Nation to the Treaty of Westphalia of 1648. Although this is disputed - some place the birth of the idea itself before the signing of the Treaty - most agree that that was the first time the sovereign Nation State as we know it today was first defined in an official document. We can talk about two concepts here which can be confused: first, the Nation - a cultural concept which appeared before the Westphalian Treaty in the Renaissance at a time when most Europe was a place of many city-states which claimed authority on territories not based on Nationhood or kinship of any kind but on the right of conquest. According to the Renaissance idea a group of people who live in different territories but speak the same language and have a shared culture are a Nation in itself. The other concept is the Sovereign Nation State which is defined as the authority which claims absolute legitimacy in exerting power over the peoples of certain territories based on shared language and culture and it was first defined in the above-mentioned Treaty. In short, the Nation is a group of people and the Nation State is the authority which exerts power on a peoples and claims sovereignty on the territories upon which said group of peoples live.
... Nationalism is an ideology which was used throughout history for different ends. For example in Germany in the early 19th century in order to unite against the Napoleonic Empire; in 1848 in the revolutions and struggles for independence against various empires throughout Europe; in 1877 in the independence wars in Eastern Europe against the Ottoman Empire; in 1914 in the First World War used by all the participants to justify entering the war; by Italian Fascists after WW1; by Spanish fascists during the Spanish Civil War; by the Nazi Party in Germany; by most participants in WW2 to justify entering the war on both sides; by Stalin during WW2 to mobilize against the Nazi occupation; by most colonized African and Asian peoples to unite and justify their struggles against the colonial powers etc etc
What I want to say is that the ideology of Nationalism is not good or bad in itself, it is a political technique to unite the peoples of a certain territory towards a certain end.

Globalism - first, this is a very hazy term which can be used to describe various political and economic doctrines. What I have noticed is that people who define themselves as nationalist use the term when referring to Globalization. Globalism can be said that it has two main aspects: an economic and a political one. The economic doctrine of Globalism: according to which the labor and consumer markets of all nation states should be open for Big Capital investments, production and consumption. Most people confuse this with Communist Internationalism which is a completely different doctrine. Communist Internationalism as a political doctrine was officially ended by Stalin and died in its entirety with the assassination of Trotsky in 1940.
The economic doctrine of Globalism, also referred to as the phenomenon of Globalization, appeared in the late 70s - early 80s as the economies of the Western world slumped and corporations looked to move their production facilities to countries with much lower labor costs.
The political doctrine of Globalism has a more complicated history. I must warn again that this SHOULD NOT BE CONFUSED with the doctrine of Communist Internationalism which is something completely different, even opposed to Globalist doctrines of late 19th - early 20th century.
Great Britain's colonialism of 19th - early 20th centuries had a Globalist twist to it - the Empire had a duty to "civilize" the peoples under its rule. The German Empire colonialism of the 19th - early 20th century had a different view of Globalism: the German State had a duty to provide the German people with "living space" - lebensraum - wherever around the world in order to allow the natural expansion and flourishing of the German race.
A certain kind of Globalism was employed with the creation of the League of Nations -later the U.N.: global conflicts should be averted by providing an institution which would allow nation states to resolve their disputes and maintain international order through diplomacy.
The American Globalist doctrine appeared during thr 1930s and 40s, flourishing after WW2, according to which the United States had a duty to bring the political system of democratic republicanism to all nations, thus expanding its influence.

As a native we are tribal, usa is globalists that ies why are land is still being stolen. Boundary waters are o be stolen and wet lands destroyed if people across the nation o not stand up. Babbit does not have the right to vote on mines in the boundary waters, that is a national treasure not local. That water shed will kill even the wild life when it gets poluted . the FIRST TIME a mine like this will not destroy and leak toxins for hundreds of years. Motors are banned but not toxins by mining processes
