Okay, maybe I should have just PM'd Doc with a question. No one here seems to actually understand what I was asking, but twisted it all out of proportion. So let me clarify.
I am not asking to block moderators. I was asking if the blocking feature of the software was a blanket operation and the news feed has to go by the same list. If that's a limitation of the software, then no worries. I can accept that. Obviously, you can't block moderators doing anything staff related, but I don't see the news feed as staff related. Does that make sense?
I'm only using the blocking to eliminate the spamming members who flood the news feed. If people only posted 2-3 articles at a time, I wouldn't block anyone. When it's anywhere from 12 to 50 at a time, it's just useless.
Maybe I'm a little confused. If I don't want to read posts/news from certain members, I'm told to use the blocking feature, but if I do use it, I'm called names. Even though others have blocked me, like BondoJoe and you all don't seem to see the hypocrisy.

@SoylentBrown It requires more coding to create a separate blocking functionality for news section.
@Dr.Evil Simple Solution: limit mods to admin functions. Mod must not engage in news posts, forum games, chatroom, etc. However a mod's secondary 'non-admin' legal acct could seed news and stack agendas willy nilly - allowing the mortal community to freely filter or block as needed.
* Voila' No locked-out mods.
No coding woes.
Sustainable tier of happy campers.
Reduced offenses / tantrums.

Mods should be impartial, and should not be posting a bucket full of pish in the news section or the forum.
This is soon becoming a site filled with vile bullsh*t and raving lunatics - I'm not surprised to see that the users online figure has stayed pretty consistent since I signed up 7 months ago. 1 in, 1 out.

@Tyrlarn I concur. Informative threads like these with feedback from members, are ones I really appreciate as they tend to answer many of my own questions and concerns. It's one of the many reasons I too, love this site. The Admin is always working hard to keep users satisfied by updating and improving features by listening to suggestions, complaints etc. THAT is something I respect. Plus , there are SOOOO many amazing, friendly and helpful people on here both new and ones I've know for up to a decade. I tend to bounce between here and elsewhere but always login when available (not working or not traveling) Cheers!

How fuking clear does one have to be to scream above the din of stupidity? The OP asked a legitimate question about an important concern. If a mod is spamming the site like a passing cattle truck... does this hapless audience have ANY remedy from the fecal onslaught? Best answer thus far was sh*tty harassment. How about a reasonable solution like limiting the mods to zero news? Mods then use a secondary 'non-admin' acct to seed news and stack their agendas; allowing the community to block as needed and appropriately. Voila' no blackout mods or code woes... just happy campers and limited offenders. Amazeballs, a***oles and fuss averted.
@(⌐■_■) I applaud this very reasonable solution to an ongoing annoyance. If a moderator abuses position without restraint, is given an 'exception' loophole to the rules that apply to everyone else, then it becomes 'Do as I say, not as I do' and TOS are essentially negated.

There is a reason these sections on the forum exist and are exactly for these types of questions under "Site Support / Help?" and yours is appropriate.
Members are often asked for feedback or to direct their questions like this one to the forum threads.
I don't understand why other members continuously attack, insult, troll, bully and attempt to discourage others from voicing their opinions on one hand then on the other are complaining about censorship.
I notice a lot of personal attacks and insults in threads on the forum that are not dealt with by Mods/Admins by certain members who seem to get away with a lot of TOS violations that others are banned for. It could be as stated, a bias mod(s) who play favourites and that just is not fair nor should it happen.
Members did not write the TOS either and the Admin profile clearly states they act using TOS so maybe apply that to not just members but also Moderators who may or may not be abusing their power as stated in several threads by the community of members on TM which make up the site as in without them, it would not be.

There is a simple explanation as to why the op receives help and information in this "tone". it may not be his fault at all. But pretty obvious that most users commenting are assuming you are part of the group who cant stop getting their feelings hurt by what others post on the internet and feel some special feature to protect your feelings needs to be implemented.
i could be wrong maybe you just want some clarification on how this blocking feature works. But are these people specifically targeting and harassing you until you feel you must use the block feature? or can you simply not sort through posts and read the ones you are interested and leave the others?
The block feature obviously made for a reason. Like one i stated above. targeted harassment etc. But If you go to a library to read books rather than watch movies, It is not the librarians responsibility to hand you a magical blindfold that makes the books that offend you, Invisible. Now that i have given you a metaphor maybe this group can start to see truly how childish this train of thought is.

@amanlybagel Clearly when you look at the number of members who have read and responded to these threads about harassment and TOS violations by the Gang of Thugs, a term for those who have attempted to dominate EVERY section from news to general commentary on here through bullying and insult, SUCH BEHAVIORS ARE matters that concern a large number of TM users.
FIVE HUNDRED VIEWS of this post speaks volumes.
Over 2200 views of another post about mods ignoring blatant violations of TOS supports this conclusion.
Most people are probably as bewildered as I am that the Gang of Thugs on here doesn't seem to be able to stop bullying, attacking and deriding others and posting intentionally offensive and inflammatory articles. The average, "normal" TM users clearly do not want to see sexist, racist, xenophobic, homophobic, rightwing extremist, misogynist News posts or comments, nevermind the gruesome ones that seem always to do with hideous accounts of abuses or debasements done to women.

Actually now that i think about it...are you sure you check the news section genuinely trying to find news you are interested in? Or..are you instead checking it to try and find how many of the articles offend you and you dont agree with? If 90% of the stories in the news section piss you off or are "spammed" or "biased" or whatever it may be.. Why are you even relying on getting news media from this site?

yES, there are plenty other websites for news,and youtube, not just here.My sisters even said,she only watches local tv news, that's it.--A lotta people are content with that.--she does not want to know what the world is doing, just her burg.It is only on the Net that a lotta news gets out, that is not censored--its much harder to censor the Web.I don't get upset if Gem wants to talk about Islam, on news,so what?As long as he does not over-post, not important.Being tolerant of other people is very necessary in life.--there are MANY things you don't have to believe or read. --but you have to be more tolerant of other belief systems and other people.--they are not going to vanish just cause you don't like them.--Any large nations' ruler knows this,and if he is wise, he does not attempt to kill them all--or ignore or bully them all. Being a victim is so popular these days. Where can i get my victim card? thomasina tell me what part of my life is unfair so i can get some sympathy from my fellow comrades. I really want people to feel sorry for me so badly that way maybe they will treat me like an equal. i dont want to work hard or show repect. but at the same time i want everyone to work hard for me and show me respect. I've decided to take Dr. Evil's advice and just block users who's news I find useless or, but what if one of them is a moderator? I agree that blocking of staff for PM's and such should not be allowed, but the news feed would seem to fall outside official communications. Seems like a flaw in the software, I'm guessing. It's either all or nothing?
