@---BOX--- I can only speak from a personal standpoint. I am being bombarded with insults by news trolls who have a political and racial agenda. Why should I have to put up with it? Surely the point of having a block feature is so we can use it to stop such harassment as the Admins don't want to ban anyone, even though they are breaking site guidelines.

@ Please see reply above. Reporting only gets a comment deleted. Bans should be issued for repeat offenders of harassment and racism, but aren't.
@YorkshireBitter Bans are for TOS violations and are only for repeat offenders who refuse to complie and accrue multiple violations.
We most certainly do suspend, and we do ban. Warnings are also issued.
I'm sorry to disagree with you, but you are incorrect.
I asked also WHY you need to block 50 members?
This proved to cause many more problems and resolved none.

@YorkshireBitter May I suggest to reply to such abusing members in exactly the same manner you would in real life? Keyboard warriors get a kick out of the anonymity of the Internet. As such they exhibit behavior identical to sociopaths, being unable or unwilling to identify right from wrong in the virtual domain. Calling them out on this behavior serves as a wake up call. You will get through to some and you wont to others. Either way you will have less to deal with.

@YorkshireBitter You could always try something like "Thank you for your opinion. My opinion differs from yours and on account of your behavior on the matter, I am not willing to discuss the merits of either my opinion or yours."

We're doing our best. Honestly. I appreciate your request, but we've been attempting to deal with this in a very proactive and ongoing way for months now.

The site and it's members GREATLY suffer from that.
Ignore mostly, write in a constructive way (or not at all), or report.
In extreme cases block.

@ hi rb i was reading and why do people need so many blocks if you ignore and tell them in a appropreat manor to leave you alone mostly it works.or just dont respond i have not blocked a single person or 1 maybe some people block you for nothing like i was by certain people.i learned to ignore most it worked mostly.you have a nice weekend your doing a good job rb thanks.

@swans2525 I would have never outed you publicly until you opened your mouth here . Popup msgs existed before doc created options to uncheck in pref’s . That option was in part prompted by unexpected and inappropriate popup intrusions - which was INDEED confirmed with screenshots of YOUR popup msgs. Sorry you’re so busted, ugly isn’t it when you’re outed in plain sight?

@clarachan1355 Those screenshots circulated with friends and admin at the time. Which was resolved as the first person blocked. However, everyone’s blocks were removed/reset. Then Voilà! here he is again verbalizing the trash in his head. Immediately after swearing he’d NEVER say such things. Hardcore outing himself now. @NOYB I AGREE WHOLEHEARTEDLY. Once upon a time I had the site whittled down to only ppl I enjoyed and respected - while banishing (from my view) a sizable herd I gave zero fuks about. The effect was MAGNIFICENT (truly enjoyable)... until restrictions were imposed. Now we have to choose on a daily basis which 10 asshats need vanquishing MOST. Which turns blocking into a revolving list of temp solutions, instead of permanent mitigation by design. Brilliant software being absurdly hobbled... because 50 is most certainly reasonable in ANY public environment for safety sake, especially here!

It's a formula where those who wish to play games, and those who with to PUNISH others go at each other with blocks.
If we were Reddit with 54 MILLION members that is very plausible. With 600-800 members, it is NOT.

@YorkshireBitter Worry not my friend. Dr.E has decided to separate the News section and transfer it to another site. I am not sure of the projected time-frame for this but it seems to be at the late stages of implementation, judging by his request to propose a cool name for it.

@JudgeDredd It's going to be a separate site with a separate name and the word "movies" would be confusing for that reason; picture Reddit as "Reddit no Movies" ... confusing.
There will be many people not even familiar with the movie side of things.
@ That is true, BUT (there is always a but with me) the site was supposed to exist to serve the needs of the existing members of 2M first and new members that may be drawn to it after. As such a partial title connection with the original site would serve as advertising for the 2M site. Dont you think?

The existing TM members will be offered the second site simply for being here, and Doc wants the other site to be independent of this one.
Two can be in it, but Movies needs to be kept out (plus Doc has never really fancied Two-Movies name to begin with).
Regardless of my outspoken nature, I'm not the big decision maker here.
I am just someone helping out the best I can.

Please can you increase the user blocking allowance from 10 to say 50?
Like any site that has chat abilities, it means you'll always get some unsavoury characters which I just get rid of by blocking them.
