Thots about an "opt out" option in forum threads? (754 views, 2 replies)
Opting out lets ppl focus attention where and when needed. All about quieting excess alerts... and adjusting comfort. Comfort helps ppl function and participate. Some need all blast all the time, some require nearly no blast. Optimally accommodating either choice isn't harsh deep code. Adding another on off switch is quick 'n dirty e'nuff - without digging down to add tools to form field[s] Not robust maybe, but it'd work. Just thought since you're up to yer knickers in keyboard already. And, tinkering is kewl when its hot i.m.h.e... your mileage may vary.
Clarifying = Opting OUT just means Notifications can be turned on / off by user. <br> Not eliminating participation or access to forum.

Would let users follow a thread without adding commentary.
And offer an escape for undying threads we've added too ages ago.
