Tomorrow we celebrate the Longest Day of the Year. June 23 (San Juan aka Saint John)´s day.
And in Spain we do so by partying arround bonefires all night long. Kind of a 2 day late summer solstice
with fireworks, live music and the bars open till sunrise.

It is the shortest day of the year in the Southern hemisphere.
Celebrated as 'Matariki' in New Zealand.

In Finland, the longest day of the year was the 21st June 2022. The day was about 19 hours long. Every day from now on will shorten, until the Winter Solstice.

@DontSpeak In Spain too. But we celebrate Saint Johnn´s day instead. Spain is a very catholic country, historicaly it is probably is the most catholic one, and socialy today the number two after Ireland. Appart from a few evangelical churches among gypsy population, there are no other christian denominations, and never have. Every temple or place of worship that is more than 40 old are or were converted into catholic churches.
Celebrating the summer solstice was a pagan tradition, but an ancient one, rooted in society. so we get Saint Johnn two days later.

And to be fair the longest day it is not always the 21st, it moves from the 18th to the 24th, mostly due to Precession and the Earths Elliptical Orbit, those effects are what leap-years fix our calendars by adding days every few februaries. In 2021 June 20–22 in the northern hemisphere
December 20–23 in the southern hemisphere. that variation was in part caused by day time savings differences ammong countries. But it should have been on the 20th.
