@bondojoe I watched ALL of the court proceedings and I say I believe he might have drank too much at times when younger, smiley Well so did I and everyone else I knew, who didn't in the 80's, smiley But No I don't think he did it at all. A few kept asking about the FBI ..jeez they had time to do all that and plus like a couple senators said when they did have people in the room alone they were not asking questions! OH and she only answered 2 polygraph test questions and could have easily been passed because it could have pertained to anything.I hope he makes it. The Dems and libs, well most everyone were rude and never once said sorry for what your family is going through but all said it to her and she so brave to come forward after being groped 36 yrs ago blablablashe just got groped & laughed at. His whole life is ruined.

@manditoe I will point out one thing for you to consider:
Go back and review Kavanaugh's testimony.
Look at his wife's face. She's easy to pick out..she's sitting behind him, to his right.

Then google a few interviews. Look at her face as she sits there beside him.
In one interview she says she has only known him for 17 years and only manages to choke out in his defense,
"It's hard for me to believe."
...instead of...
"There is NO WAY my husband could have done this."
She looks kind of sick in a couple of them.
By not unequivocally denying his guilt, she says a lot.

But her face at the hearing, and the fact that she ignores him, avoids touching him or talking to him afterward, is significant in any woman's experience book.

NOTE: Ashley Kavanaugh is NOT the blonde carefully positioned behind him who starts weeping almost before he says anything...

@ThomasinaPaine I'LL check it out no problem. If you have the links I'll most definatly read it. As I said before I listen to all sides and what they do and say as much as possible, so I can make my own mind up. Thxx!:)
P.S. I know exactly who his wife is, I've seen a couple interviews with them!! When her children are talked about Of course she would look sad..Jeez come on look what they've been and going through!
It sounds like as soon as you heard the news for the 1st time your mind was made up! ;) Guilty till proven innocent... what happened to Innocent till proven Guilty??
Also What happened to those 2 men that came forward and said it was them she was talking about-that was dismissed I guess, didn't fit their agenda! ;)

** P.S. Sorry for editing again. Last night I kept looking for a comment I wrote to show you, I thought it was here to Joe actually but I couldn't find it(maybe it was on youtube) anyways I actually thought that he raped her & when I found out in her testimony that she was drinking, then grouped (touched) and grinded on, as she said 36 yrs ago, well I just sat here & thought "WHAT"?? I'm sorry but it's a far cry from what they made it sound like & still are, kids do stupid things period, most grow up but many have kept a similar pattern! Before you get all hostile, I know personally through the yrs many women including ME have had similar experiences done,I honestly thought, Jeez I bet most women have had something like that done through their life & lived just fine(I've had worse and younger) and raised a Great & smart kid who won awards in High School for Highest marks in Calculus, math sciences, his school only went to grade 12 so he did a 2nd yr and added more courses of what he wanted to take extra, he missed way too many days and still got 94- 100% and I even said Josh imagine if you went all the time etc.. After he finished 6 yrs of University and is now gonna be 30 in May and he's engaged to a great girl who was going to school to be a Lawyer, He had a total of 4 girlfriend in his life(less by far than most) and the 4th being his fiance and kept his virginity way higher than boys in the days he was in school and very high to the kids today even, I'm so proud of him & glad I taught him Not to make some of the mistakes(I was honest and talked a lot with him about everything actually-so important, Parents need to talk with their children starting young) I made & others made growing up But then the 70's & 80' were a different time a great time for me though..lol I had many crappy things in my life happen, some my own fault others not my fault and some from and because of others! Anyways sorry I did get a little off topic, I was mainly trying to say they made it sound so much worse than it was and I'm not belittle what happened to her.

@manditoe I'm glad you have a son you are proud of.

But Kavanaugh's backstory indicates HIS mother was closer to "Mommy, Dearest".
I understand what you are so defensive about a bit more now.
But I will tell you this:

I didn't make my mind up initially. I was sort of shocked. But I admit my GUT feeling was Trump had a backroom purpose for nominating him. (and sure enough,he does)
Trump didn't vet him at all except to find out he has said a President 'should get special privileges" and never be 'bothered' by riminal charges and/or criminal investigations of what HE does or has done."
My a-ha! moment came there. The Mueller investigation.
When charges are brought for the dozen or so illegal acts Trump is guilty of, he WOULD appeal to the Supreme Court to block impeachment and trial.
With a 5-4 CONSERVATIVE Court, he would win on POLITICS, NOT guilt or innocence.

@manditoe One other thought...what if these guys had assaulted a small 15 year old boy...? Like someone's sweet,good-natured son? Not raped, just scared the crap out of him thinking he would be raped, cramming a hand over his mouth that made him think he might suffocate and die...and laughed at him the whole time?
How would a mother feel about that as "no big deal" ?

@manditoe Dr Ford read her entire statement of what had transpired and was monitored the entire time by the polygraph sensors. The two questions were the final summation statement by the decades-experienced FBI Polygrapher. That she was honest and was not deflecting or lying. He believed her, based on his professional experience and the polygraph results.

@ThomasinaPaine My apologies.

I made an assumption here, that Dr. Ford was hooked up to the polygraph machine the entire time she was being interviewed. That is what I *perceived the test results which have been shared with us to mean.
But that was assumption, not fact that I had proven.
My bad.
But it suddenly occurred to me when I logged off last night... I had not confirmed the method of monitoring her body during the interview...when and how. ( Well thats's embarrassing. I try to be patient as I try to confirm anything on the internet where Google returns like dozens, hundreds, thousands, millions of links sometimes...and you go..."Whoa--Crap! Not going to be as easy as I thought" lol

That being said,
It may have been that she was hooked to the polygraph only when she was asked the two questions. I have not yet heard that stipulated, one way or the other.

@ThomasinaPaine Correction: Blurry Woman is only intermittently backscreened for the first few minutes of the video.
Also -this is important for you guys who maybe glance at a screen or a summary and don't bother to watch the video----
A very misleading banner at the bottom of the screen is displayed most of the interview, maybe all of it... I couldn't bring myself to watch it through YET AGAIN...lol:

First it displayed :

"FORD POLYGRAPH RESULTS RELEASED
KAVANAUGH ACCUSER ONLY ASKED TWO QUESTIONS"

as if that meant a great deal, although the agent carefully explained standard protocol followed under the rules of whoever sets professional polygraph administration standards.( didn't note the organization's name as he mentioned this, sorry)

That was displayed for a considerable time in the banner.

Then it was replaced by:

Dr. Ford's truth was unshakable.
Regardless, it was a surprise to all when Prosecutor Mitchell --- initially identified (I again remind you) as the supposed "only questioner" and who was expected to question Kavanaugh too but never did--- was suddenly "disappeared" for no reason given.
She may have voluntarily withdrawn.
For whatever reason, she was no longer with us.

She had obviously believed Dr. Ford's testimony and had not had the stomach to try and rip her apart for telling the truth.

As a woman and mother of two daughters, I do not think he did it!
Over 30 years is a loooooooong time to come forward with accusations of this kind!
My teenage daughter was stalked and harassed by a boy her age. Never touched her, but sent nasty pictures, showed up everywhere she went, and was just plain disgusting and perverted.
We went to the police and reported it. We went to the school and reported it!
They were unlikely to do something because of his age back then, but guess what....
He is still eating lunch with the janitor and can't even be on the same floor as my daughter at school.
We left a paper trail and made sure there was a file about his behavior!
The next girl he goes after (and he will! he is a predator in the making) has my daughters paper trail as a backup for her accusations!
No matter if it happens tomorrow, next year or 35 years from now!

@Vhplac Psychatrists say that people that do this kind of thing don't stop. That they just keep escalating, until they get caught. I believe that, because the prisons are full of them. If Kavenaugh was like that as a youth, he would still be that way. He would be worse. I think it's clear to everyone what happened here. There are people that hate Trump so much, that they will do ANYTHING to stop him. They said that they would. I bet that the man that stalked your daughter is charged and convicted of something. @Vhplac Help me understand.
You relate a situation wherein your daughter was stalked. She was not sexually assaulted. She was not at a party where alcohol was being imbibed, one in which you would have been very angry to hear about. her stalker provided lots of proof he was stalking her. What he did occurred in lots of daylight hours over a period of time, with witnesses.

You didn't mention how old your daughter was, so no correlation there can be established. If she was 13 for example...much more mom-attached and probably she would not find herself in Christine Ford's specific situation until later in life.

She was, fortunately, never assaulted you say, she never met the guy alone somewhere and he never tried to assault her or touch her. Lucky.

His behavior occurred over a protracted length of time. You had picture proof of "sext" bullying. Other people were aware of it.

Shame on her tho that she avoided running into her stalker alone! Shame on her that he only played with his privates while sitting in the chair next to her and did not rub up against her! Because only then would she be a victim in the eyes of people like you!
Shame on her for staying away from parties where minors drink and get high! Because it seems this kind of stuff is only legit when it happens at parties!
And how dare did she do the right thing, stood up for herself and others and reported what was going on! Making known that the boy is a danger to the females around him! She should have waited till something happened, then stay quiet about it for a few decades (giving him enough time to victimize other women) before opening her mouth!

@Vhplac At no time did I say your daughter was not victimized. I was comparing the CIRCUMSTANCES of the two assaults, not saying one was a victim and the other not.

Fortunately, your daughter was not physically assaulted and traumatized even more horribly. I surely feel that sort of sexual harassment is very MUCH a crime and she was victimized.
My point, as I feel you already knew when you wrote this response, was that one attack was public, the other private... thus comparing
'oranges and apples' when it came to proving it occurred.

The point I was making, to clarify, was that HER victimization was not done in private. It was publicly out there for people to see. The guy could NOT have denied it occurred.

Whereas,
Dr Ford was secretly accosted by two boys, upstairs, away from the eyes of other people, no witnesses to her assault except three people.

You sound as of you were braver than many.

I bore the shame of thinking it was my fault somehow, for many years.

Different people, different circumstances, different ways of reacting.

Exactly what Rachel Mitchell said in her training classes. "Some children will speak out right away. Most will not. It may come out many years later. Or they may never tell anyone...ever."

On what basis, then, can one assume because Dr. Ford had a different personality, under different circumstances, at a different age, reacted differently, and that she was not victimized?

I have to fall back on my God-given common sense, learned ability to read people, and logic---not my political leanings.

As someone who was slandered and accused of a horrible act I would never commit and who had to defend myself against these allegations, even though I was found not guilty, it really almost ruined my life. People unfortunately believe that "where there is smoke, there must be fire". That is such an ignorant way of thinking. I feel so bad for Kavanaugh and his family. His life will never be the same and it is disgusting what lengths people will go to in order to hurt others, fueled by hatred.
Any person of a sound mind can see what is happening here. It is bullsh*t and like others already mentioned in the comments above, it has been said on many occasion by many that they will stop at nothing in order to bring down Trump.

@laylo Trump will stop at nothing. His behavior as a human being is deplorable on ALL levels. He had a plan to cover his OWN ass and he could care less about Kavanaugh or if he gets bumped. He has other candidates, but none that was a malleable and vulnerable as this man, who is DESPERATE to get this position and "prove himself". That was painfully obvious to anyone who watched his weepy, erratic display of uncontrolled temper as he literally followed Trump's instructions' to be more bombastic, angrier, more forceful.
So easy to manipulate...and his actions were embarrassingly ridiculous.

He honestly struck me to begin with as behaving like someone on cocaine or amphetamine, especially with his constant sniffing....
K was picked as a pawn. Mueller and the charges he is preparing to being against Trump constitute the real issue.
It stuns me that so many of his supporters cannot see the manipulator at work.

I believe he is innocent of the charges against him. The first attempt to block him did not work now they are trying this. Wonder what they will try next.

@honeyangel1962 Well this maybe all they need. Regardless of the timeline this will still be going on after the mid terms. They will insist they found something that needs further investigating. If we try and stick to that timeline someone will scream "we must be getting to close they want us stopped". IfBK doesn't get appointed then we may not see another conservative added.

@honeyangel1962 WHAT 'first attempt"? Dems can talk a lot, but they have no ability to block anything.
REpubs already eliminated the filibuster.
They couldn't REALLY block the Energizer Bunny from being put on the SC...they are outnumbered.
They just didn't want someone who is a) so right-leaning he will fall off the bench unless he wears a seatbelt or b) is a sexual predator.
Kavanaugh turned out to be both.
HE has already been proven A LIAR on several things.
Birds of a feather choose other birds of their ilk to hang out with.

And if the House flips Dem and the Senate balance is upset, more power to them. THAT MEANS MORE AMERICANS VOTED and the majority are chiming in, are now aware of the damage being done to our country at home and globally, and are trying to stop Trump and the spineless GOP from trashing our economy to benefit the elite. smiley

and it's important information about him because he's still got the same morals as back then, he's just learned how to hide things from the public better.. but all you gotta do is look at his record........... oh wait, the republicans aren't letting us look at his record.. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I fully expected to dislike her. I had prejudged her as far as how pretentious I thought she’d come off, and just reading the text of her statement was really kind of benign. I had an auditory image of what I thought her voice would sound like and how she’d speak. If I hadn’t heard her speak, I’d still be an on-the-fence person about her full veracity, but now I am convinced she is telling the truth and I felt her fear and pain and vulnerability. You can’t fake that. She’s not an actress. She’s just like me. She sounded no different than what I would sound like having to do that, and I can remember 35 years ago a lot better than I can remember last year or even last month. Yes. I believe her. I think I am a year or two older than her, and our cohort group is a small, odd one. We weren’t the bra burners and we weren’t really the next generation free spirits shouting out to the world that women can be powerful. There aren’t a lot of us, like the hordes of baby boomers, so I also think that what we experienced and how things were and were not for women is neither really very well understood, nor much cared about. ...

@ditzygypsy Is she crazy? Why would she be reluctant to fly....in only ONE direction?

@bondojoe Well I am terrified of flying and spiders. I have to plan way ahead to fly and drug myself, even though I am also terrified that I won’t be able to think or move quickly enough if something happens and the drugs are working too well. So I didn’t even flinch about the flying issue. It makes complete sense to me. I LOVE travelling. I have taken buses and trains to try to avoid flying, but I was hit by a drunk driver, so crazy bus rides aren’t a lot less stressful for me. I WILL make myself fly if I can’t avoid it, and that includes vacations and what I did for work, but it is a HUGE ordeal doing it. It’s never just “grab a flight” in a day or two or even a week. It takes time and mental planning. Is it nutty? Hell yes, but it’s the way my brain is. And I have friends who are worse than me, I am the “brave” one when we’ve flown together. I can’t change it. ...

@ditzygypsy Ok...Let the flying go...where was her friend...or anyone else...that saw her leave that party? Where is anyone that said that there even WAS a party....or get together? Either everyone else is lying, or she is. Let's look at FACTS...not an emotional injury...by SOMEONE.

@bondojoe I have to go back and watch the parts of the -whatever that was called- deposition? that I may have zoned out on. I don’t think it was a party. We had “things”. Like you’d go somewhere you thought everyone was going to be. Sometimes there were several “things” going on so, then the smaller, less fun “things” would break up and people would find each other. I believe this was a failed attempt at a “thing”. I didn’t go to any “things” until I could drive, and then I had a ‘76 Nova, so I drove many to several “things”. I have to go back again to the part where she talks about leaving and rewatch that. It wasn’t a planned “thing”, it was like most of our “things”...accidental gatherings that happened because people actually showed up. One time I was not having a party or even a “thing” and the whole hockey team showed up, and I was 15 and they were all over 19 (legal age here). ...

"Do you women..." What the heck? You only want the women's opinion? Why does that matter? Men have no valid opionion, or theirs is going to be biased or different from women? Men and women are intellectualy equal. The question suggests a disparity or morals or proper judgement.

Thankfully the Democras showed their agendas when talking to Dr fox. No highlighting her inconsistencies just showering praise over and over and telling her how brave she is every single minute of their alloted time. I may not be a hypocritical left sheep but I was always believed that someone was innocent until proven guilty...and someone making claims should at least be able to have a consistent story, let alone have at least one of the people you named be able to support your claim.

Shame she can't be dragged through the courts for slander amongst other things if this gets dismissed by the FBI.
