What does telesync mean? (1325 views, 7 replies)
Telesync is video from one source synched with audio from another source (usually inline audio).
Thanks Dreamcrusher. Nice to know. Does it mean the audio sync can drift? I find that very distracting in a movie.
I believe the drift is something caused during the conversion process while uploading but I may be mistaken.

@Dreamcrusher Exactly. But it can be caused by ANY conversion process, not just uploading.
Fair enough. I'll probably do what I do on the other sites I use. Wait for a good upload. Thanks again for the telesync info. I like to learn at least one new thing a day.

Hi, I'm new to this site and wondering what telesync under the quality tab actually mean? If it's synchronized NTSC as in USA TV it'll be about 100 lines per screen frame less than in the PAL system used in the UK. Or maybe it means something totally different?
@Egor17 A telesync (TS) is a bootleg recording of a film recorded in a movie theater, sometimes filmed using a professional camera on a tripod in the projection booth. The main difference between a CAM and TS copy is that the audio of a TS is captured with a direct connection to the sound source (often an FM microbroadcast provided for the hearing-impaired, or from a drive-in theater). Often, a cam is mislabeled as a telesync. HDTS is used to label a High-definition video recording.
@Egor17 Hi Egor! Welcome. :) Nice to "see" you again.
