I haven't (can't) watch a Tom Cruise movie even once in years, let alone multiple times.
@RiverTam If you like sci-fi you should really give it a chance.
I'm not a fan of Tom either, but I have to agree with Gooseman - it's definitely an easy re-watch.

@DemandingFemale I love Sci-Fi but I just have a hard time concentrating on a film with him (Travolta, Alley and some others) due to their "church".
I loved Ant-Man but Pena was distracting to me. Just a little quirk of mine I guess.
@RiverTam I agree. Tom is a sh*t actor. He's one dimensional...combine that with the in-your-face way he connects his professional and his Cult (he does it much more than the media does), makes for someone that is a sort of sociopathic, narcissistic, money grabbing "thing". He's not a good anything.
The best film I ever saw him in was Collateral (2004) where he played a bad guy.
Cruise as a hero constantly gets on my tits.
@RiverTam I think we all have people we can barely stand to watch.
Tom Cruise is my number 2. Steven Seagal holds firm place as number 1.
Elizabeth Mitchell is at number 3, and has ruined so many shows I liked all but for her.
I try to separate the person from the art. I reckon if we met those we enjoy watching, we would soon discover things to dislike about them and their lifestyle choices.
@DemandingFemale Ricky Gervais is in my unassailable number 1 slot for will never watch. Guy's a massive try-hard who's about as funny as being flicked in the balls with a sledge hammer, hate that prick
@Mykee83 I quite like Gervais. I've been listening to the old XFM podcasts again recently and they still make me laugh out loud.
Not a fan of everything he's done though.

That is what I would disagree with, "MOST".
There are tons more that are much better made and more satisfying... with a better cast, less CGI, better acting, better character integration, more frightening and have held up over the test of time....

I definitely wouldn't say it's the MOST re-watchable, though. But, that's coming from a girl that will watch The Running Man every single time I see it somewhere, lol, so I'm probably not the best judge.
Alien never, ever get boring.
I could reel off a huge list of movies I revisit at least once a year and never grow tired of seeing.

Otherwise, I find merit in anyone liking what they like no matter what I might think or feel.

Alien? How long do you have? lol ...I'll try to think about it and make a coherent list. I reckon writing "everything" would seem pretty dismissive, and I've not had me coffee yet! 
All the Sequels? No. For this purpose I was merely using the first Alien from 1979.

@DemandingFemale I haven't seen the Running Man in ages...thanks. I read the "Bachman" book before I ever saw the movie. I liked both even though they were quite different. In the book, Richards (was that his name?) was scrawny, almost sickly... Not quite Arnold-esque
@RiverTam Yep, that's why I loved it, because of the Bachman book. I kinda love everything King/Bachman even if I think it's sh*te... lol
@ I can't wait for the upcoming 10 part (I think it is) version of The Stand, my favorite book ever followed closely by Watership Down (try and figure that out...lol).
The 1990's mini-series was very good but there was only so much that would be done with time constrictions, censorship and tech back then.
@RiverTam I'm holding my breath on The Stand. They royally f**ked up The Dark Tower. I mean, royally. I cannot find anything redeeming about it.
I'm frightened the complexities of The Stand is going to result in another critical fail in trying to appease the public and their social nuances... It needs to follow King's intentions, not society's.
The 1994 4 part mini series with Gary Sinise and Molly Ringwald was just ok... I'm afraid this one will be... Another Dark Tower catastrophe.
@RiverTam Watership Down is supposed to be very sad. I cannot stand it when they try to happy-clappy it up.
@DemandingFemale I agree. When parents of VERY young children tell me they want their 4 year old to see it, I'm gob smacked.
@RiverTam Yes, but overall, it's about fighting for your life and all the horrors... it's NOT a story that's happy-clappy. It's meant for someone who can discern it, not an impressionable child.
Making it a children's happy story, dumbs it down and takes away from its integrity.
(Anyone thinking of jumping on a bandwagon about the horror of fairy tales... I'm not interested. I'm still trying to have me coffee!! lololol)
@RiverTam I read the book after I saw the movie and was blown away how different it was (I became a huge King fan after that too). I'm so pleased I watched it first. It's so 80s, so gay, and so awesome! Killian is probably one of my most favorite 'baddies' ever.
Total Recall is another one I never tire of watching.
@DemandingFemale The Schwarzenegger one is sooo much better than the one with Colin Farrell.
Colin Farrell is too bloody dark to play good guys. He was excellent in the remake of Fright Night, though. Truly evil!

I'm not much of a Colin Farrell fan myself. As my mum would say: "He's a bit wishy-washy"

I hardly ever have the TV on, but will happily watch either, edited and with commercials, if I see they are on.
My husband always laughs and asks why I don't just put it on on here. I have no answer for that.
@DemandingFemale Hiya, thumbs up from me, have to say totally agree with you, enjoy the movie for the genre, he's not committed any crime for god's sake, can't stand his so called religious beliefs but love his movies.

I understand what a lot of people are saying. Friends will often get me to watch good movies w/ actors who have issues by not telling me So-and-So is in the cast. It's a personality flaw I regret -- especially when it really is a good movie and I would have missed it just cuz So-and-So bugs me.

I agree with @ravenousbird that Tom cruise and his cult are just messed up in that sense, but I’ve always personally enjoyed him as an actor- maybe just because i like the action movies he’s in ie edge of tomorrow or Mission impossible. I always thought that it was a very rewatchable movie due to the nature of the plot (Groundhog Day style loop), that because the movie is designed for you to be able to rewatch the same clips over and over again you can also watch the whole movie over and over again- anyway that’s my thoughts at least

Big fan of the Cruise ever since The Colour of Money with Paul Newman, then Rain Man with the Hoffman, Born on the Fourth of July, Interview with a Vampire, Magnolia, Minority Report, Jerry Maguire and Eyes Wide Shut.
Favourites would be: A Few Good Men, TAPS, The Firm and Collateral.
The Mission Impossible films - not so great but he carries them.
The last film I saw of his was called American Made and looking forward to Top Gun: Maverick currently in post production because [SPOILER] .
He has had his fair share of duds (Cocktail, Rock of Ages,Far and Away and Knight and Day to name a few) but during the eighties, nineties and noughties his body of work speaks for itself.
I have seen this film about 3 times now, and would recommended highly for TC but also the leading actress Emily Blunt.

Just watched 'Edge of Tomorrow' today, for the first time and I have to say I quite enjoyed it, even tho my laptop disconnected from wifi 3x while watching it, then I realised it was acting like the film, 'Live, Die Repeat' 
@GooseMan Iv'e watched almost every Tom Cruise movie, I have loved almost all of them,his stunts are amazing and he seems fearless, unfortunately once you find out who these actors really are behind the scenes its off putting, does not stop me from watching the type of genre I like just because he is in it, his religious beliefs are none of my concern, glad im not married to him, as they say, never meet your hero!

I liked it, but I like time travel/event stories. I liked it even though I cannot stand little Tommy Cruise. I do Ike Emily Blunt and I was quite far into the film before I realized that was Charlotte Riley. She did a great job. Almost as good as her husband does. So if someone else had been in the lead role, I probably would’ve loved it and rewatchrd it several times, but being that it was Cruise, once was enough for me. I actually don’t know anyone personally who can stand him, so no one I know, personally, has watched it even though I’ve recommended it, lol.
