Coinminers on Vidzi (1219 views, 23 replies)

(Just a heads up)

I don't really know what coin-miners are, but I am guessing not good as I have just started to watch a series on Vidzi and now my Norton keeps showing me this...
Never happened before, and I use Vidzi all the time.

@⭐️janerosity⭐️ Could this be why Vidzi no longer works for me? It used to work with no problem and it used it exclusively, but a couple of months ago when I tried to watch a video I got something saying: <br> CANNOT LOAD M3U8: CROSSDOMAIN ACCESS DENIED <br> <br> Ever since then I have not been able to play a video on that site. It does not matter the browser that I use. Nothing seems to get rid of it.

@crazycorgi I am no expert but I think that is something that could be fixed by clearing your cache. I can still watch Vidzi, although I won't as I took the above to mean the site might be compronised atm (I have an adblocker & Norton prevented any issues) but try it. Might help.

@⭐️janerosity⭐️ Yep, they have pop under windows all over Vidzi for months now. A lot of sites have them. I hate them. They can really mess up your CPU. Best to get 360 total and several pop up blockers and check your task manager and where the memory is being used and boot them out if you notice anything suspicious.

@ I have various security programmes, adblocks etc and of course Norton (which has everything enabled on it) - my proxy also sometimes sends me that 'this site may of compromised your security' warning, but I posted as this is the first time I have ever seen the one in the pic. And I let the movie run for 20 mins and they kept coming. Just wanted to warn others.

@⭐️janerosity⭐️ Pop under windows are tricky. They don't show up on most ad blockers or security systems. I had an invader before I figured out a combo that works, which is why I suggested what I did (based on personal experience). Also, I started watching my task manager. Funny enough, a lot of the coin mining you wouldn't even notice. That's how they can do it. Good luck.

@ I will do that, and keep an eye on the task manager. Thanks.

I'd encourage using Opera browser which has a VPN built in [Free 100%]. Opera is a robust open source browser with a 100% Free VPN and a wide selection of other viral filters for: fanboy, tracker, advert, mining, and other useful ext's and widgits. opera.com Slick animated themes to enjoy too. Beef up security with Adguard, ABP, and Ghostery extensions and the internet boogies calm right the pffft down...and voila', no cryptomining. All my best to you and yours. Moi ~ Grrr .

@(⌐■_■) Opera has a mini VPN, not a full one. Also, it has to be activated it doesn't automatically turn on when you install it. It's decent, but it's a VPN that can still be traced back to you. :)

My browser fights with vidzi too. <br> <br> I use Mozilla Firefox along with NoScript and uBlock origin. When I stream I have to give NoScript permission to allow scripts globally. Then when I am done, I reinstate forbid scripts globally. <br> <br> At first, I thought vidzi was just giving me a hard time because I am not a premium subscriber but, it turns out that the reason vidzi sputters and freezes at certain times during the streaming is because my browser is fighting with trackers and malware. <br> <br> I always come out the winner. <br> <br> But for those of you who think that something has invaded your computer, I recommend using Revo Uninstaller. It's fast, easy, thorough, and free. smiley <br> <br> www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uni...

@Blaze1 It made me very angry when I found out I had one. Another dead give away is the fan running. There are also sites where the Devs "suggest" VPNs. Guess why? Because they help to track your VPN and give the miners your addy. Once they get in, they wear the fan and CPU down. Although Bitcoin are the worst of the bunch. The other cryptocurrency are not as aggressive.

Norton 360 finds and stops them aswell. Especially the JSCoinminer. That's a huge main one that they use.

I use Antiminer and it has seemed to stop mining for me. FYI thevideo.me has miners as well.

@𝓜𝓸𝓾𝓼𝓮*🐭 I say this all the time, and it's based on having been the target of mining and knocking them out of my computer, 360 total security has multiple level security, that helps, uBlock helps, as mentioned Opera helps BUT the VPN on Opera is a mini VPN and has to be switched on and still can be traced + it can be VERY slow for some and therefore, when you're not streaming you'll want to knock it off. I use all of the above, with Opera, but I don't turn the VPN on because I don't like it. I traced myself easily on another computer. Just my experience, I'm sure others will have suggestions as well. Best of luck to you! :)

Vidzi has been working fine for me and I haven't seen that, all though it always pops open a new window with the website Real Life Cam where people are filmed 24 hours a day. smiley

Before I say anything else, I'm going to admit I'm functionally-technically illiterate. Y'all start talking about 360, and VPNs and my eyes cross. I'm going to blame it on being old lol. <br> <br> I've been sick with nothing else to do, so I was binging an old series, using nothing but vidzi. Yesterday, vidzi said "Nope!". When I'd click on vidzi, it'd open the second tab with the link. I'd click the link, and a third tab would open, and generally, it'd reset three times...just a flicker and then, I'd get the play arrow, and go to town being entertained. Now, I don't get a play arrow. At all. I'm good on openload, but I just don't like it as well. I'm on Chrome, using AdBlockPlus and (flinching) AVG antivirus, plus that Windows Defender, which I'm told is crap. AVG seems to work for me and I'm not having performance issues. <br> <br> I've restarted (because all life's problems should be so easy as a restart), and everything else is working fine, but I still can't get vidzi to come all the way through. ...
