Cats Actually Know Each Other's Names, Study Suggests 🐈😸🐾 (301 views, 13 replies)
Totally do.
My boy Nelson will NOT come when called (although he does know his name) - he is like a naughty teenager, however he is also a it of a spoilt Mummy's boy and is often jealous of his 'sister' Frankie - if she is snuggled up with me he has to get in between us.
So if he is out we can call and call him.. nothing.
Call her.. and you can hear him yowling (he's an Oriental so very loud) from three gardens away as he runs home, because calling her means she might be getting food or fuss and he's far too jealous to allow that to happen and miss out.
@DontSpeak And they know it too. I have had cats all my life and usually rescues, but ever since I was a child I wanted a blue eyed Siamese. Finally got my Frankie 7 years ago, and Nelson the OSH 2 years later. It's like they know they are expensive (£1100 worth of cats in that pic) and act accordingly. Won't eat cheap brands of food, won't use the litter tray unless the best litter is in it. I had another rescue during the time I have had them, and the difference in attitude was fascinating.
@⭐️janerosity⭐️ I have had four Siamese as well, 2 when I was small and 2 in the last 15 years. One was Georgie (a Seal Point), Cambrick (a Lilac Point), Cloud (a Chocolate Point), and Bear (a Blue Point). They were all rescues. Cloud was dumped in the woods, Bear had become feral after being abandoned. Georgie and Cambrick were runts that were given the "failure to thrive" death sentence by the breeder. Siamese are very very interesting! lol
