Hi

I've been a bit of a ghost, for the last couple months I've been living in Montana working on a feature film called "The Bruce", I'm the props builder and costume consultant, I'm making all the props, weapons, knives, armor etc. We are a couple weeks into filming now, and still have another month to go. Angus Macfayden is returning as Robert the Bruce, and there is a stellar cast supporting him. The film starts at Greyfriars Abbey for those who know the story. I'll try and get some photos of the weapons and daggers as well as we go, our first battle scenes are coming this week and I'm locked in the shop. And guess what? No kilts...
@joejonsme The main question I have is this.... Is Anna Hutchison as pretty in real life as she looks to be in her pics?

@joejonsme That is so cool. I’d heard something about a movie about Robert the Bruce coming out, but it wasn’t even in preproduction at that time. Can’t wait for your pictures!

Aye, they were lowlanders, highlander wore kilts. The tartan would have been important, but I see no mention of that? Cool project by all accounts! Lucky you! :)

Cool, The Kilt is more a romanticized version of Scotland of that era, It's bloody cold up there and kilts would have been very impractical, Though not unknown? But i think men would have worn trousers (or hose?) for more practical reasons.
Especially as just about every man south of the border was wearing at the time and it wouldn't have taken long for the Scots to adopt the idea.
Warm legs in the Cairngorms? Or suffer the cold winds blowing up yer kilt?
I know what i'd opt for! :)
