9 films nominated for Best Picture. The Academy must be diversified. Just for fun, Baby Driver got 3 technical nods but not likely to win up against Blade Runner 2049. smiley

I think the diversification is incredible. Every Academy Member gets 4 votes.. in order, your #1,2,3,4. The Academy only selects the best 5 to 10. That means that all the 9 nominations for Best Picture were voted Best Picture as a #1, to exceed so much over 5 minimum. I'm not sure explained it well. But it's staggering. <br> The vote for #1 was split so far by so many that is why there are 9. <br> Still only 5 for Best Director. 3 Billboards, likely to win 2 or 3 major awards is not even nominated for Best Director. smiley <br>
