Whats Going On- Marvin Gaye

My favorite story about the music business is the story of how James Jamerson laid down the bass track for this song. Listen to the song and pay attention to the bass-line.
the guy playing it was so drunk he could not stand, could not sit, he was so loaded that he recored it while laying flat on his back and few people can play it that well while sober and standing, that is how good James was. RIP

@larosco That's a GREAT one! I don't know which version I like best....this one or the one by CCR. They're BOTH inspired.

@uunboundd lol it's easy to miss, the icon could probably do with being a little better quality tbh as it's pretty much just a red splodge even on a 60" 4K TV... at least it is with my eyes smiley

@bondojoe Agreed! They could probably rock Super Bowl. Them or the Isley Brothers — a lot better than Baboon 5?, anyway. And they wouldn’t have to take their shirts off smiley

The Temptations--"Psychedelic Shack"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5ZS6zCw...
It had everything; rumbly bass voice, high falsetto voice, stereo with different parts in each speaker, general quirkiness and almost-70s-ish-ness (released in '69), and it wasn't one of their songs played to death on the radio.
And most of all it has that patented Temptations groove beat that just won't let you sit still in the chair.
