Cowboy, Coffee-Rubbed, Grilled Sirloin Steak
NOTE: You can taste the coffee, but, if you like coffee, it gives the steak a good rich taste.
Ingredients:
2 sirloin steaks 8-10 oz each (or whatever cut of steak you want)
2 tablespoons finely ground coffee
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste (I don't put salt nor pepper on my steak while it's grilling. It tends to pull the moisture out of the meat while it's cooking. I add salt and pepper at the table, but you do what you prefer.)
Instructions:
1. In a small bowl, mix all ingredients (except the steaks) until well blended.
2. With a paper towel, pat the steaks dry.
3. Coat the steaks (both sides) with the coffee mixture (dividing it equally between the two steaks) and rub it into the meat.
4. Let steaks rest at room temperature while you fire up the grill.
