The WAR ON DRUGS doesn't work. (550 views, 1 replies)
Personally, I don't do anything (well, prescription lasix...), but I know what you mean and hey, that's just a consequence of civilization.
But if you want max drug freedom in the U.S., there's always Oregon.
As for government's 'CLAIM' over a person's body, that's just another artifact of society, for instance: The Draft, Anti Abortion laws, any other law that will land you in prison if convicted (albeit for good reason, mostly).
Have you ever been in the Military? The UCMJ spells it out: You, ARE their actual 'property' for six years after you swear-in, regardless of the amount of 'active' time you do.
And what about eminent domain, taxes, probate?
See, any governing body, whether county, state or federal can and will take possession of you or your personal property if it deems it necessary for the good and welfare (or protection) of it's citizenry.

The “Drug War” and "Drug Laws" are a direct violation of your freedom in the sense that you no longer hold the total authority over your body. You are now subjected to additional guidelines that invades your personal choice.
The government doesn’t take issue with you altering your state of mind. Example: "You are allowed to get blind drunk without the government batting an eye."
However, if you choose to alter your state of mind with any of the substances they don’t deem “fitting”, you will have your liberty revoked.
This in turn means that the government has made some “CLAIM ” over your body. IT IS NO LONGER “PERSONAL PROPERTY ” BUT RATHER BELONGS TO THE STATE.
