I honestly do not know much about closed caption anything, lol, not just movies. I have a patient, who loves movies, needs the closed caption for them, because of severe hearing loss. I would love to be able to get some movies from here for him, is there a way I can tell what movies are CC, on here, or is it something special he needs to get on his tv. Thanks for any input :)

Many HD/blueray versions will have the subtitles on/off option. I think the vast majority of movies fromthe last 10-20 years and remastered/rereleased classics should be good .
I am not aware of a means to know which will have them, other than process of elimination .

@Mark83x Thanks, I have an extra DVD player I am giving him, I just noticed it has a button, to allow CC if available. Will just go from there for him.

Hello!!! I try to find and add subtitles to my files whenever I could.
Additionally you can use subscene.com to find subtitles for your files.
If you any question about how to add download/add, leave me a message and I'll be glad to help you out.

Also, if your sub file is .srt version and you are using a pen drive or external drive that you can plug into the TV, make sure that the video file and the .srt file is of the same name. Like exactly the same. Just right click on the video file, rename and then copy that and right click on the .srt file, click rename and paste.

There's a site that I've been using for a few years.. www.opensubtitles.org/en/search/...

(I usually use VLC player for downloaded videos. Most players I think you should be able to change the colour/size/position of the subs. )

I try to use subs whenever possible for videos in others languages but even English! I feel like I miss so much when I don't use them; the CC helps me concentrate on the movie/show... That site has different languages you can select/select all..

I'm not the best at explaining things, but hopefully this helps in someway. :)

@maeGastar Funny, I prefer to watch the English language films with English subtitles for the very same reason - helps concentrate and I don't miss anything. Use the same site too.
