Hi Guys,
I just wanted to break in my new keyboard and never really was on this part of 2M but this is a touching letter.
I´m a fellow German and what honed my English in the first place was... South Park!
But this is about this. Why the obituary? What´s wrong? Is this going down? My cat is going down, too.
This might be the last hours we have together. This is so goddarn hard and while I write this it sinks in slowly that I am gonna loose my only loved one. I have no family left, no kids, no nothing. I could drop dead right now and no one would give a fu/ck.
I would moarn this site. It is the first and only moviesite I registered and bothered to piece together a follow list. I like it very much.
Just wanted to let Y´all know that I care about this site, it´s part of my life, it´s the thing that comforts me when no one else does and my lovely cat princess Mona is no more.
This was such a lovely obituary- I might have to write one, too these days... if I can I don´know.
I hope when I leave this ol world that God really does forgive and I get to be with my loved ones.

I can't tell if anyone else truly cares about the anysubj site, or if they're just joking around. I haven't been there much over the past few months due to remodeling and working on my house, but when I was finished, I looked forward to coming back more regularly.
I'm really bummed about it closing, and I miss seeing everyone's posts. 😢

One of my skilllsets is statistical analysis but I don’t think it would take a genius to figure out that if such a punishment was regular, there was an inherent problem ?
Chaz seems to have a much better grasp of the members on this site and that may be because we’re more civilised or that we avoid discussing inflammatory subjects.
Anysubj was created to provide a forum for those that felt fettered on Dosmovies but clearly Doc has lost interest and let the site lapse.
I just don’t want to see all the bad old habits and rhetoric coming back as a result.

As such I am in the unique position to tell you that the permanent suspensions in here exceed by far the ones received on Anysubj. About 4 to 5 times as much. If the meaning of this eludes you, please allow me to clarify. First and foremost, the membership of Anysubj was almost exclusively comprised by members of 2M. The Anysubj members that were unceremoniously perma banned from there, returned here, at their initial base of operations. Seeing that their return created problems, the Doc appointed me Mod in here as well and tasked me to contain the situation (and without even asking me, if I might add). Now, I admit, since my appointment in here was related to the residual effect and footprint of anysubj perma banned members, my attention was entirely focused on them, leaving the remaining members to be moderated by the other Mods in here. In addition to that, I dealt with the problematic members in here quietly, trying to avoid any drama in public. Hence your perception of the membership in here being "civilised". In reality, I assure you, this site is where the inherent problem is, this is where it originated from and migrated to Anysubj and this is where it returned. And pretending this isnt so sounds disingenuous, especially considering your own profile friends. Out of your 14 friends, one has been recently permanently banned for issuing death threats in public, one is currently serving a 14 day suspension, one just called me an a***ole through a meme and 2 more are repeat offenders.

If someone asks to be a friend, I give them 3 months and if they’re still here, I usually accept.
Once in a while I have a clear out.
However, if the site is functional, why is it closed down ?

When someone claims to be able to wear 2 hats and be uninfluenced by their authority I have my doubts.
I told Frac a story once about having a career break and working for a taxi firm.
After a few months the owners asked me to work inside despatching drivers, which gave me absolute control over their earnings with no appeal.
Immediately, my relationship with my former co workers changed and people I thought were mates became suspicious of my fairness and people who never gave me the time of day were suddenly my friends hoping to curry favour.

You misunderstood. I said that there are more suspensions and permanent bans in here than in Anysubj. The fact that this happens quietly and without posting the penalties in any public enforcement thread is the sole reason of your misconception. Of course there are the rare cases where an example needs to be made and everything happens very publicly (i.e. the Death Threats incident etc).

The closure of the site was a long time overdue and inevitable from the very beginning. The creation of the site was the result of the public vote we held here on 2M on the future of political discussions, which was perceived by the members here as the exile of the abusive members. There was no marketing performed to attract new members, no advertising or promotion of any sort, leaving the membership to be exclusively limited to the 2M members. And despite the fact that Anysubj ended up infinitely more civilised than 2M, the misconception that it is the resting place of the abusive members persisted, aided in part by the voices of 2M members that had never visited the site to begin with and which were reinforced by the voices of the Anysubj permanently banned members who resumed their activities in here. The other problem was that the forums were maintained in here rather than transferred to Anysubj. And why would you visit a different site when you can continue chatting on the forums in here on any subject except politics? This is also the exact reason the 2M Discord never caught on.

@DemandingFemale Its ok. I have been using a private account on Anysubj for some time now and gotten quite used to it. Of course I didnt hide my true identity (although I did enjoy the anonymity for a couple of weeks) and the troublemakers still complained that I can switch back to my Mod account in a jiffy if I needed. The good news was that I was instantly blocked by a select few, which spared me from the endless stupidity of their memes and personal opinions. Of course the downside to this was that when I was logging back in with the Mod account, my IQ would instantly drop by a 100 points, leading to constant facepalm movements that if observed by a third party could be interpreted as a nervous tick by their frequency.

My only concern is that some of the members my get a little carried away and mistake it for an invitation. For this eventuality, I have arranged for an ambulance should anyone make this mistake and require medical attention as we don't have any d**k doctors on the site.

Has Zedra been here??? The smell reminds me of when I ran the lost and found at @nysubj. I had found a posh hooker bag in the hallway there... I looked inside and there was an anal plug in it. Only weeks later Zedra has come forward and declared his rights to it.
Here is a picture that I was able to salvage from the rubble of Anysubj - I think it was a greeting from @BOX.
At some point the German post office issued stamps to honor Zedra.
I only tell this for documentary purposes, so you get an idea of his reputation. At some point he was kicked out because he lost his temper and threw wild insults around. Death by Moderator - a departure to My Taste.

I have to report another painful loss. @KavaLavaSava was a... um... sympathetic member of anysubj. When anysubj dissolved, he disappeared with it - into the twilight zone.

Wow, You guys have been busy...
If this thread is a reflection of what is lost- man, I missed all the fun!
And (most important): Mona is better! Around 400 bucks and several vet sessions later she made it for now.
But her kidneys are down to maybe 20%, she has a heart malfunction(lack of better words), something is in her lung that doesn´t belong there and some damage in her left knee.
There will come a time when I can´t save her but I´ll be damned if I don´t try.
And I have a lot of gratitude for You Guys standing by me- it brightened up the roller coaster I was on for two weeks.
Now, checking in, I nearly pissed my pants chuckeling over the nice weirdness in this thread especially.
Could someone tame down the mods, please? I absolutely hate it not being able to appropriately lite up a brainfart when the time is right and I feel like it. I know You can take them but can the moderatoin too?
I feel a forum needs guys like Zedra to go to town on for a little troll bashing fun.

A few weeks ago I woke up in the morning with one sentence in my head. "You don't go there anymore".
The phrase referred to the site anysubj.com, where I had spent almost every day for the past two years. I was surprised and saddened by the sudden certainty, had planned nothing of the sort.
So I closed my medical practice there and told my friends. It was a small comfort to me that I would be able to continue to meet some of them here at 2M.
I confess, however, that I occasionally checked to see what was going on there - without logging in. The day the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, I was so angry that I logged back in to vent my displeasure with that criminal ruling and post one of my infamous memes. And it worked - I felt better in no time.
Right when I made my first post there in March 2020, I was attacked multiple times for my political leanings. I was startled and unsettled and thought to myself, what have I gotten myself into here. But that has since subsided.
