Same story every year. Santa gets drunk, parties too much, is not fit for duty, and I get my presents late.

Santa Claus comes out at Halloween these days and people go mental tripping all over each other for food they're going to throw away spending time with relatives they hate.

@DontSpeak The whole Christmas hype is layered on ancient pagan rituals that had the purpose of warding off the devil, of which people were particularly afraid in the period between the years.
However, this was a grab in the loo. The old truth seeps out from underneath the Christian celebration everywhere. The boozing, the gluttony, the hypocrisy, after Christmas most divorces are filed, many pay off months of debt for Christmas presents...
How many deadly sins were that now? 
Sounds like the work of the devil.
Spending the time from Christmas to early January in silence and contemplation seems to me to be an appropriate way to deal with this period.
