Hi all. I'm British and live in the UK so I am able to see everything from afar without it directly affecting me. I would like to see if it's possible to have a discussion regarding everything Trump in a mature non confrontational, insult free way. Concerned with facts.I would like to start with this....the news reporter being banned from the white house. The facts are he asked a genuine question, Trump does not like the question, reporter was insulted , arguments start. Reporter banned for laying hands on a woman. This did not happen. Video of course shows entire scene.

Good luck.

I honestly hope that others will discuss and not resort to the trendy hate language of politics.

I will observe from a far. :)

Yesterday was a perfect example that this man is not a politician, never was and with two years in the job clearly shows little ability for the duties of the position.

In a press conference, the media representative asks a pertinent question and the politican/president responds as best he/she can. Sometimes they do, sometimes they turn the question around and talk about something completely different. It is the ability of using the language to your advantage. Then the listeners read between the lines and make up their minds.

In the press conference yesterday, the media representative asks a pertinent question (calling him out on a lie) and the President of the United States of America doesn't respond but gives a full-blown verbal, personal attack on the reporter and accuses him of doing something but not making it very clear what exactly he was accusing him of. Mr. Trump even stands away from the podium, suggesting he is going to leave the stage (a number of times).

They move on to the next reporter who defends the first one and again get into a toe-to-toe discussion with him.

Perhaps if we "pre-fill" the thread with positivity it will help move it in an open and non-confrontational way.

@ Well, in being positive I believe the result was a small step forward. Investigations regarding Donald trump could take place. Regardless of what other want to say they are legitimate investigations. Anyone from any party who has acted the way he possibly has needs to be investigated. They can also stop any of his more wild / regressive ideas from becoming reality if I'm correct.

@FemaleLotRfan83 But the mature discussion is about Trump, not the Republican party. Are the two one and the same - I have my doubts. Until yesterday it looked like a marriage of convenience, but since Trump only wants the side of the party that follows him then I would say it may become a bit inconvenient. The GOP does not deserve this president nor do the American people. And no name calling necessary - only the facts and some semblance of truth.

@---BOX--- The difference is a lot of Dems think people that support Trump consider themselves Republican

I would wager that people that voted for Trump are sick of the entire gdmn mess and want it wiped away. They're tired of the cronyism and the passive aggressive nature of politicians and the press that only give lip service to real problems while acting in their own (and their friend's interests). They're tired of being condescended to and politicians acting like rock stars and celebrities rather than servants of the people.

Trump is not innocent of all those things either but he's a lot better than a lot of the recent politicians that actively and to this day continue being led by strings of the bankers, of the elite 1% and all those people that are above the law.

I guarantee people also support Trump for the same reason so many people hate him- he doesn't hide what he feels and isn't passive aggressive. If someone treats him poorly he treats them even worse. He doesn't pretend to like someone when he really despises them. In that way he stands out from every other politician and that's why the status quo is against him.

The reason a mature discussion isn't possible, in your case, is because you present a false scenario and go from there.
First off President Trump ANSWERED his question. Just because he didn't like the answer doesn't mean it wasn't answered. Strike one!
When asked, BY THE PRESIDENT, to pass the mic, Acosta acted like a b**ch that couldn't get his way. Strike two.
The video you claim to have seen, PLAINLY shows him putting his hands on the intern. Strike three.
Since you claim to be from the UK, three strikes, YOU'RE OUT!

So my question, without malice is, are you an idiot, or did you think everyone else was?

BrunoAxemaker Just to get back to your point above ... the results so far according to Wikipedia as at ECT 00:07

I took a screen print of the Wiki page and as we can see the REP vote is given as 47% whereas the DEM vote is given as 51.2%.

Fake News? I can't be certain if CNN is running Wikipedia but by my calculations there seems to be more than a 1% difference.

Low standards - The standard of statesman in the Oval office should be considered. A president should be above this type of behaviour in public. He should be able to deal with hecklers but he doesn't have those attributes that a political statesman needs for this post. He shouldn't rise to the bait - but he always does.

I can't vote in US so Clinton and Sanders (although admirable people) are not on my ballot.

@---BOX--- LOL! I don't know what you mean...I was just refferring to the map of the U. S. Vote. Red is Republican, or conservative. When Trump won the 2016 election he Won 2,626 Counties. Hillary Only Won 487. that map looks the same. It's just that California, and New York have MILLIONS of people in urban area, mostly minorities, and blacks vote 90% Democratic. So FAR MORE of America voted for Trump. The south west turned blue this election, because of the number of IMMIGRANTS living in that area. They do not represent America...they represent a border with no boundaries.

@bondojoe Liverpool should have a better colour but in Europe RED means socialist. As far as I can tell and I took a screen print of the Wiki page and as we can see the REP vote is given as 47% whereas the DEM vote is given as 51.2%.

And the last time I looked it was the registered citizens of America who voted in the elections. Are all votes not the same? Are you suggesting that the immigrant vote represents less of America - a country built by immigrants.

If I didn't know you better Bondo I would find it very difficult to understand why you think Trump lost the house of Representatives. Surely you are not blaming the Democrats for the defeat. I know who Trump blamed - his own party. Those bloody republicans who were not Trumpies.

@---BOX--- You're right. Not enough Republicans voted. But you're wrong about the immigrants. THESE immigrants didn't build America. Many of them have been living here for decades...illegally voting. You can find the stories...if you look. Take a look at the map on election night 2016...It is almost ALL red. Almost every county , in every state. The exceptions are California, and New Yoork. As I stated, there are millions of immigrants, AND ILLEGAL ALIENS clusterd there. They represent those states, but they do NOT represent the United Staes. Why do you think they are mostly in one area? And that area...California, is a cesspool. You go to youtube, and see for yourself, if you like. The REST of America is fighting to avoid becoming like them. The people are, anyway. Not Liberal politicians. The truth is not always palatable.

@bondojoe The United States is country of immigrants. Immigrants literally built the United States. Black slaves turned the south into economic powerhouses. The Irish and Italian immigrants powered the coastal manufacturing revolution.

California is the fifth largest economy in the world. Its tax dollars pays for the budget of the poorest states in U.S (nine out of ten poorest states are Red states). Without California's taxes, these red states wouldn't be able to afford the fuel subsidies, farm subsidies, food stamps, healthcare, etc. that people in those states take for granted.

California has a thriving and resilient economy powered by high tech enterprises and manufacturing. The state offers a great standard of living to most of its residents. It has one of the best education systems in the country, one of the lowest mortality rates, and much more. It has a thriving arts, music and entertainment scene.

Firstly Acosta regularly tries to take over these press conferences, which unfairly limits time for other journalists. Secondly he clearly handles the lady (#Believe her remember?) and as the left tell us all accusations are to be believed.

It's just a shame that Obama never gave the press this much time and that people weren't this outraged when he was alienating Fox news. I do love how people are saying the info wars video is fake when it's clear footage from a reputable news source that they used...talk about hypocrisy and agendas 😂
