The first time I saw the movie Blade Runner I thought it was a waste of time. Now I see it as a classic and watch it at least once a year.
At school, in Literature class, I used to hate Jane Austen. Now I wish Jane would have written a dozen more books in her lifetime.
@LesStrater I didn't watch Blade Runner until a few years ago and was impressed by the style, effects and even the story. But is was very dark and wet. I watched the sequel and I thought it was actually better so I am at odds with the critics (again)
@Robear2000 I remember seeing the first one in the cinema , being totally lost in the first half hour and coming away with the feeling that I had seen something different. As you said, number 2 and 3 were not up to par. The same happened for me with the Jurassic Park ones.

Have you ever come across a film, a series, a book or perhaps a person that on first viewing/reading/meeting gave you an impression (good or bad) but later you found yourself changing you mind because the story changed? What gave you the (good/bad) impression in the first place, and why did it change?
@---BOX--- Some people are going to call me crazy for saying this but this is what happened with me for Game of Thrones.
At first everyone I know was talking about it and on the internet everyone was making posts/ comments about it. So, I was getting sick of it and started to think people are over rating that show too much. I kinda gotta irritated whenever anyone mentioned GOT.
But the moment I saw that first episode I realized how much wrong I was and then pretty much was hooked to it.
@Athb007 I haven't started watching it yet and it has been recommended loads of times. I am going to wait till they stop making GOT and then I think I'll start. They even filmed some scenes from last season here in my town but I still wasn't tempted. I hope I'm not disappointed. But then again, with the Sopranos, it too me 2 years after it finished as I hadn't heard of it. I think I watched it all in a month and I have seen it again since. Sometimes the wait is worth it.
