A good trick, if you have enough space in a freezer to buy or get cuttle fish when they cheap and more and leave them for at least 2 months. They get much softer when cooked. Octopus needs special cooking preparation before added in casserole food. needs to be boiled separately in low temp, lose it's own liquids, then put off and boiled with vinegar/wine and pepper, daphne leaves then it's ready for every casserole recipe with spaghetti, vegetables , potatoes etc. Or just as appetizer when added vinegar and olive oil.

@Nasos Thank you, I don't know what daphne shrubs are tho, it's always a pain to cook like that as I'm the only one who eats seafood

@ijaija Here they are mostly extinct. There are still more in Western Greece in a place. Due to their nature to get back from Mexico to their birthplace any over-fishing and mistake can make them extinct. They are super tasty. I liked them Grilled also with spices. Some people find them very fat and the smell very specific. The smoked variation sells like a delicatessen a lot. Greetings to the older Generation from Greece ~~~~
