The 1920's Radio Flyer Wagon

A 16-year-old Italian boy named Antonio Pasin was one of the millions who immigrated to America from Europe at the start of the 20th century. A skilled carpenter, Pasin headed to Chicago and began building little red wagons out of stamped metal. By 1923, he had saved enough money to create the Liberty Coaster Company, and he began mass-producing the wagon for just under $3. He named it the Radio Flyer in homage to two of his favorite inventions of the time, the radio and the airplane.

Continued Growth After the War
At home, Radio Steel’s war efforts sparked newfound confidence in their line of products. Advertisements began to highlight the classic strength, durability, and dependability of the Radio Line wagons. A new bearing for the wheels, called -Congo- bearings — guaranteed for 1000 miles of smooth, quiet riding – gained special attention for its longevity.

@JudgeDredd There is actually a place that allows people to watch and interact with the modern cosmonauts ... It's on the series "Dark Tourist" which I highly recommend.

That particular episode brought me to tears. Humans actually working together from completely differnt nations... their only objective is to see, "What's out there?" and support one another.

Brilliant.

I'll see if I can get it here.

...1932 Indian Chief
The Chief was introduced as Indian’s heavyweight competitor to Harley-Davidson and lasted for 31 years. In 1922, 21 years after the company began building bikes, Indian launched the Chief with a 61 cubic inch flathead V-twin. Although a larger 74 cubic inch bike, called the Big Chief, was an option.

Indian remained faithful to the principle of a flathead, and in doing so escaped some of the pitfalls that Harley-Davidson encountered in their efforts with overhead valve designs.

The Indian was actually rather unconventional, with its left-hand twist grip (apparently so that policemen would be able to use their pistols with their right hand), a foot clutch, hand shift and the ignition advance controlled by the right handlebar grip. A 3-speed gearbox was standard, but a *Police Package 4-speed gearbox and a reverse gear were options.

@ᗩᖇᗰᕮᕮK I had an American friend in the Netherlands that had an Indian. Brought it from the States, fully restored. A thing of beauty. The only difference I see is the exhaust. I dont know if his was the original or custom, but it was LOUD!!!! His neighbors weren't very happy as he did like to rev it up, a lot.

Report comment

@JudgeDredd These bikes were loud, and are still loud today restored....Well every bike from this era was loud...The difference today technology on exhaust systems allows you to interchange parts to get the noise level at a more bearable level.

Report comment
(5y)

@ᗩᖇᗰᕮᕮK Well, he was into the loud ones. He also had a Norton Big Four, which was weird looking by comparison to the Indian but was equally loud. That is of course when he would manage to start her up. That bike was the mechanic's dream or nightmare, as it was always busted or always requiring some fine tuning on the road. The funny thing with that one was that he had an equally weird looking sidecar for his wife.

Report comment
(5y)

@JudgeDredd I like Norton's as well, not a fan of the side car, makes the bike ride a little awkward, but if it's original to that model, I could learn to appreciate it.

@ᗩᖇᗰᕮᕮK His was the original, but it looked like a death trap. I wouldn't put my picture in there. smiley

A Golfer walks into the new Government National Golf Course pro shop and asks the golf pro if they sell ball markers.
The golf pro says that they do, and they are $1.00.
The golfer gives the golf pro a dollar.
The golf pro opens the register, puts the dollar in, and hands the player a dime to use as a marker.

1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Fastback
*The Boss 429 also known as the "Boss" by enthusiasts is arguably one of the rarest and most valued muscle cars from the era. In total there were 1358 original Boss 429s made. For a two year run,1969 & 1970. The origin of the Boss 429 came about as Ford was seeking to develop a Hemi engine that could compete with the famed 426 Hemi from Chrysler..Boss Delivered Well Over 500 Horsepower.

🔹The Boss 429 engine was derived from the Ford 385 engine. It used four-bolt mains, a forged steel crank and forged steel connecting rods. The engine featured aluminum cylinder heads, with a modified Hemi type combustion chamber which Ford called "crescent". These heads used the "dry-deck" method, meaning no head gaskets were used. Each cylinder, oil passage and water passage had an individual "O" ring style seal to seal it tight. The Boss 429 engine used a single Holley 4-barrel carburetor rated at 735 CFM mounted on an aluminum intake manifold that flowed well for its time.

Rancher John
★Old ranch owner John farmed a small ranch in Montana. The Montana Wage and Hour Department claimed he was not paying proper wages to his workers and sent an agent out to interview him....I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them,'demanded the agent. Well, replied old John, 'There's my ranch hand who's been with me for 3 years. I pay him $600 a week plus free room and board. The cook has been here for 18 months, and I pay her $500 a week plus free room and board. Then there's the half-wit who works about 18 hours every day and does about 90% of all the work around here. He makes about $25 per week, pays his own room and board and I buy him a bottle of bourbon every Saturday night. That's the guy I want to talk to, the half-wit, says the agent. That would be me, replied old rancher John.

Hi, the trust is a "special needs trust"established by my mother(who is dead).my sister agreed to be trustee.i am not"unable to manage my own money",i get soc sec. and don't spend it all.i am rather frugal with money.-(i am being protected from losing all my medicare)-i uzually only have to ask the trustee for a big thing, unavoidable, like:a new roof,,cause the old one was literally falling apart.Or "a big piece of money to a land-management,treecutter,trimmer,professional who did TONS of work of the old trees on this place",the trust agreed to pay for these things, they keep up the house and place.---so the dead and dying ones don't fall on us or my neigbors.I asked the trustee first if they will pay for the job,and give them info.so they can see that its necessary. Yes,a special needs trust enables me to keep my medicare, which otherwise would be destroyed--and i was told with my "pre-existing conditions" no reasonable health insurance but Medicare will take me.

@clarachan1355 Yes,the trust has funds and very stable investments managed by very professional brokers.

Report comment
(5y)

@clarachan1355 In that case, you shouldn't worry at all. I am assuming that there is no other family member that can substitute your sister as trustee. If this is the case, a court would have to appoint a new trustee. I have provided you, in reply to your comment on your thread, with a list of non-profit legal organisations that specialise in special needs trusts.

I will also assume that the contract with the intermediary provides for the situation where the intervention between trustee and beneficiary fails and what this entails in relation to the administration of the trust. I am assuming that a report would have to be filed which would have to reach the judicial authorities. At this point I am unsure if the intermediary could do that directly or an attorney would be required to file a motion for replacement of a trustee at the court.

Famous & Inspiring Photography.............*Austrian Boy and his Shoes
The picture moves you to happy tears the moment you see it. The gentle curve of the child’s cheeks make you think that the innocence of infancy remains a permanent guest. The happiness is palpable, a pair of chubby little fingers clutch a pair of shoes to the chest of the little boy. Six-year-old Austrian boy, Werfel, was photographed when he got a new pair of shoes at the Am Himmel orphanage, donated to him.The photograph was first published in LIFE magazine on December 30, 1946 and later, again, on September 24, 1951 and was titled “New Shoes”.

The picture is a beautiful effort in capturing the quintessence of childlike happiness. The abandon that children feel and profess, enjoying happiness in the littlest of things, in a life that an adult might otherwise be quick to profess as being filled with misery. The child’s ability to enjoy and cherish what has just been given to him, notwithstanding the fact that he lives in an orphanage, notwithstanding the historical events that had just unfolded snatching his comfortable life away from him, notwithstanding the fact that, that he doesn't understand were his parents are ...Reminds you how flawed our thinking is, to look at the negatives and focus on them. The expression of absolute purity in happiness is reminiscent of how beautiful life is – and wakes you up to straighten your own thinking when life strikes you down on occasion.
