Oh one quick anecdote: Stanley Kubrick was really not amused about the plastic sounds the roman legions made while marching in Spartacus. Its amazing how they solved this problem...

Watched something a long time ago when I was a little girl how the ILM folks harvest sounds from society for Star Wars films & it had a profound affect on my approach to sound that would carry over into my bands.
Can't watch the dreaded corporate goggle owned yootoob, but some of my kids are digging around on alternative sites.

Do you have any reference documentaries you would / could recommend?
Sound is integral to any viewer, whether they are cognisant or not.

Why do Star wars laser jedi swords have their famous sounds? How does the D-Day landingboat scene in Saving Private Ryan just press you in your cinema seat acustically with 8G surround sound? Why is in DEADpool even the sound as cool as the movie?
