Mixdrop Blocked By UK ISPs (406 views, 9 replies)

Sadly Mixdrop is now blocked by UK ISPs due to a court order which means a vast amount of links are now useless to their users. This means a VPN is now needed to access it in the UK (Tor works, but needs frequent reloading as Mixdrop is unfortunately very sensitive to interruptions in the connection).

How long before VPNs are the next target I wonder?..

awww that sucks majorly but the UK I noticed is quite strict about stuff like that, apparently Germany as well. here's hoping the streamtape links are of use to UK audiences because that's a major blow for people want to see variousTV programs and film and are unable because they don't have a TV, what they have dosen't give them such and such, or they don't have the means to use whatever stream service or all of the above and they just don't want to deal with commercials.

@Yuroparenti Yeah Streamtape has been one of the only working alternatives on a lot of stuff lately

@Lemming my heart goes out to the folks based in the UK, glad streamtape is still functioning and hopefully with any luck since mixdrop is blocked for UK users MAYBE that'll mean the links for streamtape will stream better when folks watch it because I only use streamtape if there aren't mixdrop links available and then folks although mixdrop allowing mostly people to save whatever film or episode is a huge advantage not often found on streamtape but then again but all up to the uploaders in the end.

@Yuroparenti It's pretty dystopian when Sky and Netflix have the power to use the courts to block internet access to a site for the whole country. Never liked either of them.

@Lemming I feel you, when will these folks realize not everyone of us has the means to pay for EVERY single sattelite (and some of us don't want the baggage of endless commercialism and waiting such and such a date for this episode in between all the other programs we don't care for), some of us don't have the means to get every single streaming website where sometimes we don't like the 'countless' choices on offer so we have to go through other means. but hey in this world, its always bleedin people drive, and "sorry pay me" lol. annoying.

As an easy work around I use Opera browser for any streaming sites as it has a built in VPN, easy and convenient to use.

@hansol69 I tried Opera and its VPN with Mixdrop but playback wouldn't even start before it displayed an error message. Seems their player is very fussy about the connection being fast.

Maybe using the download feature is an option though.
