Prayer for Peace on this Memorial day

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

In Jesus name Amen.

I know I'm a day late, but every day is Veterans day and for honoring the fallen in my book! Thank you to all who have served this great country. We appreciate your sacrifice.

I totally agree! My family has served in Army, Navey, Airfoce, Marines. The only one that someone in my family has not served is the Coast guard. Thank you to all of you who are Heroes that have served in protecting our country! null

@bondojoe Joe, that's not fair, or accurate.

Memorial Day is a special day for the United States, but this is an International site.

There are many patriots from other countries.

And many others that believe in God, again from other countries and other religions.

It's not sad. It's reflective of other people looking and seeing it doesn't apply to them.

It would be sad if they said negative or disrespectful things.

@ You're right. I should have specified Americans that don't appreciate our warriors, or Jesus Christ.

@bondojoe I only wrote that because at least when I write you consider and then write an equally reasonable response (whatever that may be).

I hope it was a good day for you. smiley

@ Thank you...so far...it's been a good day. I hope things are going well for you too. I know it's not easy being a lone wolf, and that your Mod status sometimes leaves you there.

This is a beautiful prayer and one which I am very familiar with.

Every day I wake with gratitude for my grandfathers on both sides who served in WW2 and the rest of my family put their lives on the line for others. I have the highest respect to everyone who serves and need no special date to remember. However, I stand proud globally on all days like this be it a Canadian, American, European etc. date. We are all one when it comes to this as we fight together and continue to do so. Against all evil and for the freedoms of future generations who I pray will always be reminded of the sacrifices our ancestors made.

My prayers are always with them. Thanks for the thread.

God Bless all! smiley

@3UN01A Blessings 𝐆𝐎𝐃𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐒, What a blessing you are! I am in total agreement with you and keep all of our Heroes in our prayers every day. I too had several members of my family in various branches of service so, I can relate to your beautiful heart. God bless you and your family always.
