How about adding some filters like these: rating / IMDb / popularity / flow (add date)
People might start using the Movie Tags feature more often then, thanks.

I think we're already spoilt for choice in that regard.

Personally, I would never use any of those tags.

Thanks anyways.

@ Surprised you are not thinking of the bigger picture, i.e. other members!

There is 178 films with Superhero dosmovies.com/tag/Superhero/.... in the Tag and there not even in date order.

Lets see what other members think.

@PureVodka🍺 I haven't heard of any other members saying they needed this or I would have mentioned that.

Have other members actually mentioned needing that to you?

I've not heard anything.

Getting "Request" Sections I have been getting a lot of.

@ I think movie tags box is a little gem that some members have never even seen before.

@PureVodka🍺 OK. So you want that feature to become more obvious to people who use the site? smiley

@ It used to be in view at one time, but people or not likely to use it as it is, with filters who knows. Lets see what others think. smiley

@ Yes. A single keyword reveals what happens and thus is a spoiler.

Look up The Beguiled directed by Sophia Copola. Amputation is a keyword. Well, that is a major spoiler, right?

@AnhedoniaNightmare That is a very good point.

I wasn't aware of that at all.

@Dr.Evil How about a A-Z (dropdown) Tags box added to the right of this page?

dosmovies.com/movie/browser....

Would that be easy to do?

@PureVodka🍺 It's kind of already there, with the exception of "Flow Date" and "Popularity".

@Dr.Evil Doc, apparently there is a "flaw" with the movie tags filter that reveals keyword spoilers.

That's not a good thing.

Can it be amended?

I have been lurking here for over a year. I frequently search by keyword tags.

I like supernatural horror films. These frequently are demonic possession films. I find those very scary. I don't like gore as that is just repulsive.

By using keywords like: Devil, Lucifer, demon, possession, then if someone bothered to put these tags in, then those films are displayed regardless of titles.

Likewise I like chambara and jidaigeki films (samurai dueling or samurai history period dramas). So you can use: samurai, katana, sword, Sengoku, daimyo, jidaigeki, etc. Then these show up.

Otherwise you have to know which films were made, who was the director, who was the famous star, and many are obscure. Some are extremely hard to locate as they may never have been released on VHS or DVD.

With foreign films, the names are in another language, have alternative English titles, and you have things like three languages in Japan, like kanji, katakana, and hiragana. That means the titles can be a difficult way to find the film. And in Japan, the order of the name is reversed ie Brad Pitt would be Pitt Brad.

@AnhedoniaNightmare Doc does all of the coding around this with other admin, not any moderator.

@ I am talking about "content" errors.

I am not talking about "code" changes.

If I find an error in content, say a clear ommision or suggest a keyword, should I send that to DoctorEvil? Are keywords "code" that have to be set up? Or are they parsed as text?

It's been years, but I ran a website long ago and did both code and produced the vast majority of code/content In Frontpage. I also did all the Photoshop work too.

@AnhedoniaNightmare I realise that.

Doc does all of that.

He'll evaluate it and determine if any action should or can be taken.

@ I'll save them up and maybe in a month, then send them.

An administrator of a website has so much on their plate, they ordinarily do not handle munitia. Otherwise they never would get any code changes done.

Ordinarily you have artistic staff, unpaid of course, doing that sort of thing for the community.

A mod typically is governing ToS violations and judging if they occur, and then infracting along a continuum.

Thanks.
