A way to exclude shorts? (702 views, 9 replies)

Although I can uncheck shorts in the 'genres' selections, when browsing for feature length movies of any genre, shorts are included as well. The Boolean OR and AND don't apply in any logical way to exclusion of shorts and, at least for me, the ability to exclude shorts would be a welcome feature.

Sometimes shorts are good ,but sometimes they are not ,but if you don't like them then you just don't . I sometimes don't want to see shorts when I'm looking for a full length either . Maybe Dr. Evil could add something to block out shorts when you are looking for a full length movie?

When the search is displayed you can tell which are shorts, though. I never really get that many.

However, if a majority of members find it a nuisance than it's a legitimate to ask Doc to consider adding this feature.

I think it would be nice to be able to exclude anything you don't want to see. The way it's currently set up, even if you leave something unchecked you still get them in the results bc it may also be classified under a genre that you do have checked. For example if I search by checking scifi, drama, and fantasy, I'll get results in there for stuff I don't have checked bc it might meet one of the criteria for what I do have checked, like a scifi short say. Does that make sense? It would be nice to be able to totally exclude shorts or game shows or reality tv, etc.

Is it necessary? No. Would it be nice? Yes. I would love to be able to exclude reality tv shows in particular, I really don't like them. I also normally don't want to see animation genre in my results but get those also. Anyhow there's my two cents lol.
