💎In 2012 Holly Ranney combined her background in interior design with her husband’s construction expertise to give an 11-year-old cancer patient in Macon, Georgia, a bedroom makeover they paid for themselves. His reaction to the room changed the couple’s lives.....“Pete and I looked at each other and said, ‘Wow, this is definitely something we were meant to do,’ ” Holly says. Today the duo heads up Sunshine on a Ranney Day, an Atlanta-area nonprofit that offers free makeovers of child bedrooms, therapy rooms and bathrooms for kids with long-term illnesses.“A lot of these families don’t feel like they deserve it or think that there are others out there who need it more than them,” Holly says. With the support of generous sponsors, volunteers and donors, the couple has overseen more than 50 makeovers, giving families under incredible stress a huge home blessing and a new reason to smile.

Stephen Parker found himself trapped under his Toyota Prius after the car fell on him while working underneath it. This is it, he thought. Dogs that have been beaten, abused, run over by cars or left to die with massive tumors have a guardian angel and advocate in their corner—Jennifer Smith. Her Noah’s Arks Rescue charity pays the medical, rehabilitation and caregiving costs for dogs that otherwise would be euthanized, spending an average of $20,000 per animal. Thanks to numerous small donations and an undisclosed amount Smith kicks in, Noah’s Arks Rescue drops around $1.5 million each year to make miracles happen for these pups...And when a dog can’t be saved, they throw a party for it before they say goodbye.

If you're a delivery driver for Domino's, it's not like you have some close relationship with the people who greet you at the door. You probably don't even remember them, unless they keep opening the door nude. So, when delivery driver Susan Guy realized that a particular elderly woman had mysteriously stopped ordering pizzas, what reason did she even have to notice? Maybe somebody opened a Papa John's nearby. Maybe the lady went on a diet.But on a hunch, Guy jumped in her pizzamobile and, on her own time, drove out to the lady's house. She banged on the door. No answer. She banged on a window. Nothing. Finally she got a neighbor to call 911.Maybe the lady was just on vacation, maybe she had just run out to the store, maybe she would be furious that a stupid pizza delivery driver was nosing into her business. But when the cops came and forced the door, there was the old lady, lying where she had fallen three days earlier, unable to get to a phone.No one else had checked on her, and no one else was going to. Except for pizza delivery woman Susan Guy, who had every right in the world to just shrug and go on with her day.

Original narration pairs with manipulated clips from not just the original Shining, but also the likes of Psycho, Poltergeist, The Silence of the Lambs, The Sixth Sense, The Ring, and many, many more, to create a loving ode to decades worth of horror. Nowhere else will you see Little Shop of Horrors, Rocky Horror, and the goddamned Exorcist smashed together so cleverly.

✴On his way to becoming an international icon, the subversive and secretive street artist turned the art world upside-down. Then Time Magazine selected the British Artist Banksy graffiti master, painter, activist, filmmaker and all-purpose provocateur for its list of the world’s 100 most influential people in 2010. He found himself in the company of Barack Obama, Steve Jobs and Lady Gaga. He supplied a picture of himself with a paper bag -recyclable, naturally- over his head. Most of his fans don’t really want to know who he is and have loudly protested attempts to unmask him.

✴This summer, Banksy fans can take their hunt for his artwork off of the streets and into a Mayfair townhouse. Lazinc Gallery in Mayfair, London is set to open Banksy, Greatest Hits.

✴This will be the first UK exhibition which allows visitors to see Banksy’s work all in one place from stenciled canvases, to unique paintings, to limited-edition prints and many more. The unique collection will reaffirm how relevant the anonymous artist’s social and political comments are in today’s world, whilst letting art enthusiasts view works they may have never known existed.

✴ A touching tale of a girl and her father and the connection they form over the course of a lovely afternoon...Oh, and did I mention that they are both flesh-eating zombies?..Unexpectedly reunited with his daughter amongst the ruins of the world as they knew it, a father is determined to make this day special, even if they are already dead.

✴In the short’s mere nine minute run-time, the filmmakers are able to draw out an amazing amount of emotion. Almost instantly I cared for the two lead zombies; this is a true testament to both the amazing filmmaking on display here and the fantastic acting from both Hazel Gibson and Garth Maunders. Even without dialogue the pair are able to convince the audience of their past relationship as father and daughter; this is achieved through their excellent expressions and movements.

✴Arlo Alone is a futuristic drama that follows Arlo, a young woman, as she comes to terms with her own loneliness in a world where in-person contact has become a rarity...Arlo became a sort of cautionary tale of where we could be headed in a world dictated more and more by technology.

✴I think we can all see ourselves in Arlo. Yes the film is set in 2060, but what she experiences is very real for a lot of people. It almost sounds silly, but loneliness is a current epidemic experienced by millions. So I think an audience can watch and feel a sort of comfort in Arlo’s story, knowing they are not alone in their feelings of isolation- that we all want some kind of connection to others...But in the end she finds what she’s been missing - human face-to-face interaction.....➤ vimeo.com/channels/staffpicks/27...
