◆ Recuenco was born in Madrid Spain........*During the first steps of his career, being attracted as well by photography, he specializes in large format paintings in which he included pictures of his own. However, in his own words: As I could not find a public interested in four-metres-wide canvases, I focused on photography. Then he begins collaboration with the main Spanish and International fashion magazines Vogue Spain, Madame Figaro, Wad, Vogue, Spoon, Planet, Vanity Fair, Stern, Kult, Twill, GQ, Marie Claire,Vogue UK, Zink, Nina Ricci, Diesel and Yves Saint Laurent. ★ Brooklyn artist Zaria Forman makes beautiful, ginormous pastel landscapes that serve as snapshots of melting glaciers and rising seas. You may’ve seen her work in House of Cards if you have a habit of staring at sets.

★ Her mother dedicated her life to photographing the most remote regions of the Earth. The cold and isolated landscape of the Arctic consumed her interest from 2001 until her passing in 2011. She always said that she was a polar bear in a past life, and watching her spend endless hours in the frigid winds, patiently and happily waiting for the moment when the light was just right.

★ She was diagnosed with brain cancer on Mother’s Day in 2011 and passed away six months later.And I promised to carry out her journey to Greenland... One Christmas morning my parents woke my siblings and I up and told us they had secretly videotaped Santa last night and we just HAD to see it. At this point we had started to question if Santa was real or not, but when we saw that video of Santa putting gifts under the tree and eating the cookies we left, any doubt we had was gone! Years later we found out that my parents had found a Santa suit at the store and stayed up all night recording the video. We still talk about that video every year at Christmas and it is definitely something I plan on doing with my kids!

TOGᕮTᕼᕮᖇ ᖴOᖇ ᑕᕼᖇISTᗰᗩS
When my family was all able to get together for Christmas we always went to Christmas Eve mass. Although I don't really identify with any religion, Christmas Eve mass is beyond beautiful... the choir's voices were so lovely and strong that the whole building shook with song. My older brother wasn't going to be able to make it to Christmas because he lived too far away and it was just not the same Christmas Eve feeling as we stood there in our fancy holiday finest and sang carols...until my older brother walked in during "Angels We Have Heard on High." He had driven for 13 hours straight to make it in time for the holiday. My whole family was crying and I will never forget how it felt: like my own little Christmas miracle. For that reason I have always loved that song and it was so nice to have my Christmas wish come true.

When I was 6 years old or so I received an orange from my great-grandmother. I didn't understand why someone had given me fruit for Christmas, until I learned many years later that this was my great-grandma's favorite gift when she was a kid in the 1910s… It was her tradition and her way to remind us that small things could make us happy. 🍊

✴ Jansson seems heavily influenced by Hayao Miyazaki with a darker touch; such as Tim Burton. The Swedish artist definitely creates a mystical world, full of characters that makes the viewer crave for more.

★ᗩ ᗰOᗰᕮᑎT Oᖴ TᕼᗩᑎKSGIᐯIᑎG................✴𝐁𝐲 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐡 𝐉. 𝐌𝐚𝐳𝐳𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 • 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟖

✴ It was 28 years ago. I was a young dad with two babies under three. My Mom and Dad had invited us to their home for Thanksgiving dinner. Their tiny house was packed. There was my wife, myself, and our babies. My two brothers were also there with their families as well. The kitchen table was full and people were eating on TV trays and with plates in their laps. We eased around each other so as not to spill our overflowing plates and full glasses. Tummies were being filled with turkey, gravy, potatoes, stuffing, buttered rolls, and pumpkin pie. Old memories were being shared with laughter and love. A dozen different conversations were going on at once.I sat off to the side, silently sipping my sweet tea and taking it all in. I saw my baby girl in her high chair with her face covered in mashed potatoes. My little boy was still eating while gravy dripped down his shirt. My Mom was cutting up the pumpkin pie for dessert with a smile on her face. My wife and sisters-in-law were talking in one corner while my Dad and two brothers were laughing and teasing each other in the living room. As I watched it all, suddenly I had a feeling in the center of my chest. It was a curious mixture of peace, contentment, love, and joy. It made me feel full to overflowing in my heart as well as my stomach. I realized then what I was feeling: a moment of pure thankfulness on Thanksgiving Day.So many years have gone by since then. Still, that moment lives on in my heart like it was yesterday. It wasn't the food that made it so special. It was the coming together as a family in love. My Mom and Dad have passed on to Heaven now and my brothers and I don't see each other as much as I would like. Yet, I can still feel their love for me. I carry it always in my heart and soul.Thanksgiving isn't just a holiday that we celebrate once a year. It is a way of life. When we fill our hearts with thankfulness we open them to even more blessings from our Heavenly Father. When we fill our hearts with love we become the people we were always meant to be. And when we share that love with others we make this world what it was meant to be as well. May all of your days be full of Thanksgiving then. May all of your moments be full of Love!
