On Thanksgiving, Canadians give thanks for a successful year and harvest.The Thanksgiving holiday tradition in Canada dates back to when the English explorer, Martin Frobisher, came upon the land we now know as Canada while searching for a Northern passage to the Orient.When Frobisher arrived in Canada on his third voyage in 1578, he held a formal ceremony where he gave thanks for surviving the long journey - one of his ships had been lost on the way. Frobisher celebrated with salt beef and peas. South of the border, it would be another 43 years before the Pilgrims sat down to celebrate their first Thanksgiving meal.Apart from taking place years before its American counterpart, Canadian thanksgiving also takes place over a month earlier. One reason is that the harvest season starts earlier in Canada than it does in the US......*Have a wonderful Thanksgiving week.

Well what types of Movies do You Like?? Movies, or TV Series? Would have answered sooner but just got your request. I use to Live in Alberta Years ago, just south of Calgary...But Home is the USA (Idaho) You Ride Bikes? I'm a Harley Man myself....

@Idaho_Biker Hi I like comedy..action...horror..drama...I do like some tv series...the comedy ones.I do ride as well..where south of Calgary did you live?I use to live in Lethbridge for a few years but Red Deer is home

@Idaho_Biker I think I like living in Red Deer directly in the middle of Calgary & Edmonton.it's really grown we are now population of around 120,000 compared to when I first moved here it was only 32,000

@Mommabear So, do you ever make it down here to the US?? Glacier National Park? Ever been to Sturgis for the Black Hills Classic? As Pretty as You are I'm shocked your still Single... smiley
