As this is a video just (published by the BBC)that is amazingly sober and matter of fact (in good old BBC journalistic way) in decided to post it here in health section.
It compares the speed of reaction of many countries and its consequemces on the Covid 19 pandemic.

As a clip producer and guy who does many science graphics i would like to draw your attention to the super simple (yet GREAT) graphics the BBC videographers used.
If it is complex ---> the graphic shouldnt be . old rule. smiley

This is wether Trump bashing nor the Trump hailing...its fact facts facts.
i love it. Once more the good ole BBC turns out to be an anchor in times of turmoil.
Please post what you think about your countries thinking /doing reopening!
keep it polite and calm as always.
Thank you!

I think that we are delusional if we think that the worst is behind us.
It has just started (on a global scale)
Many countries around the world where social distancing is IMPOSSIBLE arrived where current hotspots (on top of it US) were 8 weeks ago.
Bangladesh? numbers explode
Nearly whole Africa is on the edge of a catstrophy. Supported by Billions of locusts.
These places just dont take much place in the discussion in the western countries - we are understandably busy with ourselves.

Indigenous people are being hit hard, reflecting high tolls in secluded populations.

Well done,, good video..
I keep hearing people say: "I'm gonna wait until the data, then I'll be concerned and maybe wear a mask and stop gathering in groups".... and the data comes in and we (the US) look like fools so they change their talk and simply ignore that same data they demanded before...
Thanks....

Nice to see a sensible thread, based on scientific facts.
How long until the crazies come in with 'facts' that are so stupid we don't know where to start?

As restrictions are eased on a region by region basis (adjudicated by an anomymous committee scientists/doctors/health workers, and based on real data provided by the regions), the politicians are cranking up the retoric.

The numbers have dropped and there may be an over confidence that this has finished among the general population.

The most recent debate has been the obligatory use of masks in public.

Current case figures in Europe.

Great video from BBC. It puts some things in perspective, and leaves one scratching one's head about others.
