I saw Bob Dylan in concert about 20 years ago, was expecting something radical but he just banged through some very old stuff and seemed bored.

@---BOX--- I never heard that one, must have come from Dylan's born-again Christian period which most fans try to forget.

@Judge_Cannon During those years, 1979-1981, the king of the counter-culture became a born-again Christian, and his output reflected this.

This song was much later and much better.

Ring them bells for all of us who are left
Ring them bells for the chosen few
Who will judge the many when the game is through

Dylan carries out an insidious attack on Christmas, or rather declares war on it. He is without mercy and turns Hark! The Herald Angels Sing into a devastating assault on the ears.

Bob doesn't negotiate, he takes no prisoners. He wreaks irreversible havoc. He beats the crap out of it, he breaks its every bone and leaves it to bleed to death in a stinking backyard. smiley
It's defeated!

Abandon all hope - for no one will be spared - the angels are being plucked, sliced and roasted.

Bob! What have you done?

l grew up in the era of Dylan relating to his experiences, friends and career. I find it’s really hard to watch mousey ‘Timotéee’ struggling to be Dylan’. Creeps me out hardcore.
I just can’t. Way too many Nope-nope noway, for me to play along and suspend my disbelief.
Anyone else… just me?

Nope.

@(⌐■_■) I'm still waiting to see the film so I'll let you know if the mouse can capture the Dylan of old.

I tried to like it I swear (dammit) but just could Not. Before it was over I was gritting my teeth and feeling a bit hostile.

I kept repeating...it's JUST a dang movie, and yet? smiley Hollyweird's lameass rendidtion pulled considerably 'different' on my heartstrings.

Enjoy luv. smiley
