One month ago I had the fortune to play along with a woman that plays the clàrsach and the scotish flute! She played the theme of couple well known tunes and the theme of "Outlander"= Sasenah. Easy to fit in the guitar i really enjoyed them melodies. In the youtube I ve seen how they play many musicians together in the pubs and i really liked it. I Wish sometime I will visit Scotland and play in the pubs. I wish Morag always to be healthy and happy!
BTW clàrsach is constructed as word by the words "kelarizo" and "ihos" or "iho". Kelarizo / kelaris ihos the sound of the running water . Ihos/iho = Sound/Echo.
So clàrsach probably means "the instrument that sounds or echoes like the sound of running water". This is why is see the scotish ppl make videos with these harps by the rivers or the sea.This is my personal theory.

@rickgrimesrocks It is a very recommended read ... I still remember reading it (1984) purely for its original cover, and I was hooked; entranced by the setting (similar to my youth), the first person POV and the violence.
Always wondered why it wasn’t made into a film as it got lots of attention at the time being his debut novel.
