Mother Of God by Paul Rosolie (198 views, 11 replies)
@DontSpeak I haven't read the book yet but I have been obsessed with watching podcasts with Paul Rosolie in it where he talks about his experiences in the Amazon. He was on Lex Fridmans podcast and it is so interesting.
I normally download my books for free but this might be the first book purchase in a long time for me.
The Amazon fascinates me and is truly magical.
Have you see the show The River?

"There's magic out there"
@MurderByDeath Yes, this I've seen. It was intriguing, but not picked up again, sadly.
Although I will say I can criticise some of what they were doing, I understand why.
I also will expand, without personal experience, that the book you refer to is much deeper.
Having been on the Amazon, and seeing and hearing from natives how the West has exploited and damaged it... well, I am not disgusted.
I feel that our last penny has been spent.
Life is a circle.
@MurderByDeath Here it is: dosmovies.com/tv/The_River
I will see what I can do about links. (I sincerely hope others more apt than I will, as well.)
@DontSpeak I liked the show more for the premise of the magic of the amazon versus the ghost stuff but overall I liked the show and wish they would have another season. Im actually currently re watching the series now.
Its amazing what natural medicines and other things the amazon has that we don't know about.
