When Sofia Karppi, a detective in her 30's who is trying to get over her husband's death, discovers the body of a young woman on a construction site, she triggers a chain of events that threatens to destroy her life again. Deadwind is a highly thrilling series from Finland mixing crime investigation and personal drama. aka Karppi

I love a good euro-drama but they are all becoming much of a muchness. This looks like a bit of a carbon copy of The Killing.

@DemandingFemale I've been too obsessed with American crime shows, lol ;) Not seen many Euro crime dramas so am looking to broaden my horizons :)

@////////////// The three I would suggest looking at are...

The Killing (Forbrydelsen) - Has an American remake. Original is great. The American one isn't bad either and has a great cast - especially Season 1.

The Bridge - again, has an American remake. Written by the same guy that wrote the ITV series Marcella

Cordon is another one to have a look at if you like virus-outbreak kinda things. It also has an American remake called Containment but, it isn't as good.

@DemandingFemale Agreed, I LOVED The Bridge and much prefer the originals. There is also a British version (The Tunnel, set in the Channel Tunnel and I stuck it for 2 eps!) Not seen Cordon, can't see it on here though, do you know if we have it?

@⭐️janerosity⭐️ The Tunnel was awful, I couldn't get through 1 lol.

I just had a look for Cordon but can't see it here. Containment is here but I would suggest giving that one a miss.

@////////////// You have lots to look forward to and catching up to do with "euro crime dramas" as there are SO many of them and majority are great - even better than American - which are usually inspired by a foreign show.

@////////////// Me too as it's rare to come across a gem these day. Wish they would add a "recommend" option for tv shows for this very reason of sharing with others what they would not normally know about.

I am halfway through watching the first season of Deadwind and absolutely love it. Another great foreign crime show that's well done on all levels from great actors, directors, writers and filming. I was expecting to like this and then lost hope after a few bad reviews but glad I kept with it as it's very well produced and is already returning for a second season in 2019. You just have to watch it yourself and decide as it's definitely not for everyone. To all fans of such genre - I recommend it as a must watch!

I tried to request it to be added to this site, so far it has not. If you need links , just ask. smiley

It's finally been added to two-movies but no episodes yet.

www.two-movies.name/watch_tv_sho...

it takes about 3 episodes to appreciate. Give it a try!
