Many members actually like that chat bot so I would say leave it be and just ignore it like you would with all the trolls on here.

On my first day as a registered user I was labelled a troll by some of the regular chatters, and at the same time System was telling me the last time it had been inside a woman was when it visited the Statue of Liberty. *rolls eyes*

Indeed this was - and still is - a traumatic landing zone for newcomers. My family's first day on site was met by the chatroom and bewilderingly gross/rude bot-babble AND a cacophony of dog-sex and pumping purple penis links. Nothing sez "Welcome to a New Media Domain" like a fukton of wet dog d**k, gang bullying, and an INSULT-BOT touted as a "Help Desk".
@(⌐■_■) I think the same could be said for anywhere with an established 'community'. Newbies can have a tough time trying to find their feet and regulars tend to be dismissive, possessive and aggressive. You've either got to ride the wave or jump ship - and, I've never been one for jumping.
@(⌐■_■) This almost sums up my first experience here as a new member. The trolls have pushed away more people than anything else and still do to this day. I know so many who signed up here (especially after PW went down earlier this year) and just went elsewhere due to the hateful negativity of the two-movies drama club that seems to rule over this site. it's unfortunate but at least we have choices to block or just sign out and use other sites that have a less tolerance for bullsh*t trolls with no lives. Like the comment below says, it's like day and night from PW to here. There's a report button and all that but nothing really ever changes or gets addressed then dealt with. It's like a gang that supports only each other so it's a no win situation when there's biased favouritisms from the head leaders... yawn.

I know of no media sites that greet with dog d**ks, rude bots or gang bullies - isn't it grievous ppl are accustomed to [and DEFEND] such behavior? It's a peculiar marketing strategy that's been riveting to watch.

When any site has lax rules and few consequences some people will behave like jackasses. Unfortunately, that behaviour can also be contagious.
From PW to here - it's like night & day regarding rules of play.

Please, please... For the love of all that is good in this world - can you please turn the bloody chat bot off!?!
It serves no real purpose other than encouraging the mentalists to flood the chat box with nonsense, typing to it like it's a long lost family member.
@DemandingFemale Actually it does serve a purpose, questions about downloading movies and attempting to censor curse words...
But other than that, I tend to agree with you, can be quite annoying at times, especially if your attempting to have an adult conversation with others.

There is no reason it can't just respond to the 'download' keyword - But, lets face it, people get more help and advice from active users than just the link System posts every time someone types 'download' in general conversation.

Also - It's usually the first place newbies go to for site & tech help and I enjoy helping when I can (as do other regular chatters)
I just don't enjoy having the chat box flooded with bot responses because someone would rather waffle crap about corn for an hour.
