Sacha Baron Cohen was due to work on a Freddie biopic. He spent years researching and writing before the plug was pulled on the project.
Rami sure looks the part, but it's not going to contain a fraction of what Sacha wanted to do with it.
Here's a clip from a 2016 interview Sacha did with Howard Stern explaining part of the reason why it never came to fruition... it's quite amusing.

I'm not overly keen on him myself, but I do think he would have made a decent Mercury biopic.
Brian May is also high on the list of d**kheads.

Rami malek , provided he can handle success and is careful about the roles he takes. He potentially has an amazing career ahead of him.
@Mark83x I agree! I don't think I would have thought Rami looked anything like Freddy but wow does he ever in this film. It is amazing the likeness...he is a great actor in everything I've seen him in.
