44 views • Added 5 years ago • by mooneyhill1

This edition with the full regular staff of Bryant Gumbel, Jane Pauley, John Palmer at the newsdesk, weather/birthday greetings with Willard Scott, and the Critics' Corner with Gene Shalit. Today's news stories and features including the conflict between the Contras and Sandinistas in Central America including aid to the Contras in Congress, lowering inflation, Admiral Thomas Moorer on military exercises near Libya in the Gulf of Sidra based on terrorist threats including opinions by British MP John Wheeler and Stefano Silvestri from Rome on its duties, 'Police Academy 3' star Michael Winslow, NCAA basketball player of the year Walter Berry, Gene Shalit's review of 'Down and Out in Beverly Hills', author Lester R. Brown, a look at London's open door buses, Mike Leonard reporting from Tuscan, Arizona during MLB's Spring Training, William Bryant and some people on the streets of Cleveland, young first-time home buyers on borrowing from their parents, accusations on Kurt Waldheim, Julian Lennon, actor Richard Benjamin in 'Money Pit' (sorry for the muted audio), and Arthur Mitchell of the Dance Theater of Harlem. Don't miss Willard plugging the "Today Cruise" contest at the end.
