@ᗩᖇᗰᕮᕮK Cool. It really was ridiculous watching soccer moms driving those original hummers around. Pretty much hating everything chinese right now, but have you seen the new Greely Maple SUV? Scotty Kilmer did a review on youtube last week. small, 4 door, not very fast, 0-60 in about 10 seconds, 180 mile range, you can change the battery pack in 80 seconds or less, all the electric goodies, $9999.

@ᗩᖇᗰᕮᕮK About 35 years ago I wrote a story about survival situation after an EMP attack on the US an this story takes place on the 10 freeway coming back from Arizona. 3 people trying to get home to Orange county and they very early on find a shopping cart to use and it plays a big role in their survival. I never tried to get it published but the few people I let read it liked it. A few years ago it became much easier to self publish, especially e-books and I was looking in to do that when The Road came out and I went Nooooooooooooooo. After that my book would seem derivative just because of the grocery cart. That book is so much better than the movie. big fan of Viggo but the movie was just lacking something.
@ᗩᖇᗰᕮᕮK Well that was a long and ultimately depressing chore. I finally found it. Its handwritten, and ever sooo bad. I never finished it and it reads like I could not make up my mind if I wanted to go with a survival story with as little violence as possible or go go full on post apocalyptic bloodbath. Really bad. All I can say is I did quit serious drinking not long after this. It did remind me of a really good book called Lucifer's Hammer. It is a book about people survimg after a large asteroid impact. The guys who wrote this spent a lot of time at the JPL so their descriptions of the physical effects of the strike are state of the art. The choices that people have to make for survival are striking, with sereral differnt story lines ultimately coming together. I just now did a search version for a free version, there are several, but on one it showed another book called Legacy of Heorot, and it is simply the Best B.E.M. ...

@ᗩᖇᗰᕮᕮK It is hit or miss. It is steve and many a dozen other comedians and they take turns doing their bit from home on the webcam or phone and some of them do miss the mark. What I like is it is set up so someone can tip a comedian if they like their act, so it is a way for so people to make some money from home. Seems like most only get about $50 to maybe $100 but that is better than the nothing some are making right now. Being a letter carrier I have an "essential" job so Ii am still working 40hrs a week, though that may go down, our volume is really down though we expect parcels volume to start picking up as stuff arrives from china. I just spent about $135 to buy some N95 masks, still have to wait 2 weeks to get them. Harbor Freight donated all they had to local health workers and good for them. What is crazy to me is there are restaurants and coffee shops that still let people sit at outside tables, and most of the people I see sitting there are seniors. ...
@Wander I just looked for it you said at 5pm. Well that is a wonderful thing, for some of these people to make some money. My hat of too you sir for being a letter carrier, I have the same person that has been coming to my home for 10 years and I always make sure to thank her for what she does, and thank you as well....These are the people that going to prolong this virus, idiots and the shop owners are idiots....Shut it down man,why is so hard for some people to follow rules, especially ones that could others..Be careful out there Gods Speed my good friend.

@ᗩᖇᗰᕮᕮK Hi Bud, interesting timing with the Amy Winehouse. Forgive me if you are already aware of her, but here are links to 3 videos of a young singer I am in love with. The first one is her first round of Norway's Got Talent when she was 7, she went on to win. The second is of her doing an Amy Winehouse cover when she was 10. The third is her a couple of weeks ago at 13 on America's Got Talent World Wide Winners, or something like that, singing her amazing version of Bohemian Rhapsody.

guru I want a travel vehicle for when I retire. I do not really want a big RV or trailer so I have been looking at vans. I am not interested in living the "Van Life" but I want something I could be comfortable in for months at a time if I wish to. I found this on craigslist in Vegas. 39642 miles on it when I bought it. Runs great, tracks well, no rust, starting the conversion this week. Adding solar system, Hour shower, and slide out kitchen, I hate cooking inside a trailer. I am in no hurry, It will be months before I need it so no rush to get it done but will post pics of ongoing changes. Hide 1 reply...
