How to hide sidebar items using ABP (1524 views, 5 replies)

Same thing applies to uBlock Origin users.
Right click on page
Block element
Select the element you wish to block
Click Create
To reinstate the element
Right click on the uBlock icon in your browser
Options
My Filters
Delete the entire portion of the text relating to that element
Click 'Apply Changes'
A page refresh will show the element again.

There was a thread yesterday asking if it were possible for the site to add a feature enabling hiding "Visitors watching now"... due to the number of 'Adult' titles that appear there. Hmmm. No surprise really.
I'd responded that you can do this using Adblock Plus, rather than making more work for Dr E you can customise your own view, and said I would not mind inboxes if anyone wanted help with this as I had screenshots. Then decided maybe it's easier to just make a thread rather than reply individually.
So here goes.
Obviously you need to add ABP. (I'm pretty sure other Adblock progs will also let you do this)
Click the toolbar icon, and on the pop-up screen below click 'block element'
Again on the next screen click block element
You then need to move your cursor so it hovers over the area on the site that you wish to hide and highlights it - click on that and as the page refreshes it will be gone.
