Forth time I've watched the movie and it is still overwhelmingly great. Movies like this don't come around very often and I still love watching it, picking up little subtle things I've missed. I see that there are a few people that really have some bad reviews and comments. I have to wonder what movies they think are good. I got into a discussion about whether or not that is "Sophie" is killed or not. I still firmly believe she was killed and the daughter spared. I said over a year ago that "Joaquin Phoenix deserves an Oscar for his performance." And was very happy that he did win.I highly recommend this movie to everyone.
This movie was, in short, a masterpiece. The writers did such an amazing job creating this version of the Joker, and Joaquin Phoenix was the perfect fit in bringing this character to life. Thank goodness for the multiverse so I don't have to choose a favorite between his and Heath Ledgers...
Watched it many times, i really love it start to end.
A day after day Jouaqin Phenoix proving his high quality skills
The plot is good
I think the Joker character in general is having more fans rather than Batman himself
Appreciated the unique story line. I hope the next chapter develops the Jokers character more.
Every once in a while a movie comes, that really makes an impact. Joaquin's performance was nothing short of brilliant. This is a movie that only those who have felt alone and isolated can truly relate to it. You understand the motive and you feel sorry for the character.
The cinematography is spectacular. It is full of gorgeous shots. The score is haunting and just perfect. The acting, especially Joaquin Phoenix' acting, is nothing short of amazing. 10/10 would recommend!
I can't remember being so mesmerized by a films direction and cinematography whilst at the same time so enthralled by it's main character and story as with Joker. Both a beautiful and terrifying film in equal measure.
As for me, Phoenix has done something that no other actor has ever done - his Joker is a flesh and blood character. It is not only a symbol of madness / anarchy, it is not a caricature, it is not Batman's complement. I am happy that I had to live in an era where a movie about an opponent of a guest dressed up in a bat costume can easily rank among the best films I will see:]
If you go into this expecting an action movie based on Batman or on the Joker you know and love you might not like this. This movie focuses on mental illness. It's a great movie. There's a little action thrown in here and there. I would recommend this movie if you're not just here to see a classic DC film.
6/10 until they finish the movie o. o. i mean that ending come on. Im just beeing sour cuz i didnt want it to end XD They picked a great joker 8/10
Boring, depressing, highly over rated
Absolutely fantastic take on this character, the beginning when Arthur is chasing the kids and slips as well as when the gun falls out at the hospital was very well done for the whole my life is actually a comedy theme i especially like when Warner bros does dark DC films its the edge these movies have over Marvel my only problems were the age difference between him and bruce as well as bruce origin as a whole other than that a perfect movie
I did not enjoy this movie, and do not understand why it was made. In fact it was thoroughly unpleasant from beginning to end.
It centred on mental illness, and to show sufferers laughed at and abused is not art or entertainment, just sick. The murders were trivialised as something mad people do, and the frequent references to suicide were disturbing.
Joaquin Phoenix has done some good movies and some not-so-good, and for a while he dropped out completely while being treated for something. This may explain his skill at playing this part, but it must also be a low point in his career.
When some talk about the danger of susceptible people being influenced or doing copycat crimes, this is the sort of movie that I think of.
3/10 and delete it.
@Buttless You say '...and to show sufferers laughed at and abused is not art or entertainment, just sick.' If that's why you think the film was made, to allow it's audience to laugh at a mentally ill character, then you are clearly missing the point of it.
The film in no way glamorizes or or even trivializes murder and suicide, but it does explore the motivations of those who commit such acts and does so in a sublime and memorable way.
A possible answer to the question you raised in your first sentence, is that it was made not to show those increasingly disenfranchised individuals a role model to aspire to, but to show those in power what could happen if they continue to marginalize them.
And, so the story begins. Im not a fan of Phoenix, but Joaquin nailed this sh*t down. A dark beginning, that I feel is worthy of the Batman/Dark Knight series. A more believable story of who The Joker was and how he came to be. Ledger would approve. I used to think that my life was a tragedy, but now I realize, it's a comedy. Brillant. Kitty rates this... F*cking A
Phoenix was the only reason I tortured myself by continuing to watch this drivel. There are actually members of this site screaming 9's and even 10's … but then these same people almost always award these same ridiculously high scores for every other review they give.... it carries favour you see... Yes it's yet another popularity contest. You can usually subtract a point from the imdb score to give you an accurate guide (to account for the cheerleaders) but in this case I'd say double that at least. A strong 6/10.
I'm vexed, terribly vexed. Am I not merciful with my 5.0 rating ?
Am I not merciful? Joaquin is a superb actor, no doubt. A true artisan.
I kept waiting for something to happen. I won't have to worry about
watching this ever again.
Joaquin Phoenix one of my least favorite actors so I went into this a little biased. After watching I was well pleased this performance was excellent not so much the actual portrayal of joker but the portrayal of a mentally disturbed Arthur Fleck and delving into the nuances of an individual with mental illness. Great film excellent job by mr Phoenix
this was by the best movie i have seen in a long time. the drama, suspense, action, gore. the plot was a true masterpiece. i love the back story of joker and how they revealed most of how he really became who he was becoming. Bipolar but also a true artist in his craft when comes to a solid cold punchline. His Joker was very chilling and sinister but very painfully natural. i would watch the is a couple more times just to make shore i didn't miss anything. But upfront...the lead character killed the performance. I believe jack Nicholson would be proud of the joker as well Ledger. 20 stars in my book .😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Joaquin Phoenix at his all time best!!!! This is going in my favorites, Cuz I already want to watch it again..100% AWESOME MOVIE!!!
I see Joker the character in a really different light now. Amazing performance by J. Phoenix
The 1st time i tried to watch this i was expecting something completly different. I had the joker from the batman movies in my head and i turned it off after 30 mins but i went in with a open mind just now and i have thoroughly enjoyed this film about the birth of the joker and also batman. What a flick...
Worth a watch, though be forewarned kido's this is what a sickly vegan looks like. Joaquin Phoenix is 45 yrs old as of October,...He looks like hes 60
Joaquin Phoenix did a great job. You can tell he truly commits to a role especially now that I know the fridge scene was improvised. I think I laughed during this movie more than I should have. Overall the movie was okay. when I started this movie, I was expecting to be wowed, after reading these comments, but that wasn't the case. [SPOILER] How could they waste the opportunity for him to do his signature laugh after he shot Murray?
I haven't seen anything so depressing since "They Shoot Horses Don't They" back in 1969..
Not a fan... but Joaquin did an incredible job,, he's really a great actor in this creepy ode to a cartoon character..
No doubt about it, this is the darkest, creepiest film in the comic/movie genre so far. Marvel films, it's your move..
Egh. Ugh. Meh. Whatever.
Zeitgeist demographics take on "God Bless America" meets "Idiocracy" populace with hints of "Taxi Driver".
Comedy. Ridiculously hilarious throughout, infectious laughter, e.g. when he is punched, and crawls in the fridge, stabs, midget attempting to leave, etc.; hilarious -look who's laughing now. Just golf.
This was interesting, but in my opinion too dragged out. I started to get gradually bored after the first hour.
I am sorry to disappoint my friends in the site, I find this movie as absolute garbage. Great cast wasted on insane script.I don't consider this as cinema at all 1/10
@Nasos Y’all people really can’t engage yourself to a movie that is beyond movies, this movie was a masterpiece, something that we’ve never really seen. Bravo Joaquin ! His improvised scenes really made the movie something even more.
Brilliant just BRILLIANT!! BRAVO
It would be virtually impossible to make a terrible movie when you're pulling from such greats as Scorsesse, Fincher and Aronofsky and you might even find yourself on the cusp of perfection with a little Von Trier thrown in since this was supposed to be a story about a dark, brooding soul who's been shunned by society, but somehow Phillips manages to miss the mark big time and serves us a movie that is as predictable as it is contrived, unoriginal nonsense. With an actor like JP, this could have gone to unimaginable heights, but since Todd Phillips is a wanker with no imagination all we get is Joker laughing through half the movie and a remarkably inefficacious ending. TP needs to stick to his puerile and simple minded screenplays and leave anything dark and visceral to a more capable and creative mind.
Points to Joaquin for trying to make crap into credible. He was so impressive as always. The movie however was a terrible waste.
This is not review but personal opinion,
After having watched Suicide Squad und falling in love with the characters I was pretty disappointed when they bring out random Joker film und random Harley Quinn film, I have seen neither but will watch both regardless of my skepticism.
Primarily because as they say, I am not sure what people smoke but Leto could not be called anything but brilliant as the Joker, he was intense, quirky, he played insane very well und it was very obvious that most fans wanted the same as I - A follow up to suicide squad with Harley, The Joker und perhaps introducing Poison Ivy und a few other key characters.
These two standalone films seem ridiculous to me, it makes absolutely no sense at all und from what I have seen it so far, the joker in this film is nothing at all like the original concept, he reminds me of slightly pathetic sideshow clown or perhaps the clown from simpsons - Side Show Bob.
If it is indeed like these trailer then I will not be able to take it seriously, even now I am unable to after they begin rather large or promising might be better word ending to a film (Suicide Squad)) where many people fell completely in love with the characters so much so it seemed to be obsession for some, DC must have been obvious to this yet they then completely ignore what should have come next und bring these two senseless films out?.
Leto played an intriguing, charismatic und intense Joker - a character many wished to know more about yet there is not this but rather these films that are so ludicrous I almost can not beleive why they would bother.
Of course I will return to rate film when I eventually watch it. Read moreLess
@PrinzessinHarlequin Joaquin Phoenix is superior to Jared Leto in every way possible.
How about watching the movie before judging it? This movie is fabulous, as is Joaquin Phoenix's performance, in my opinion. Of course we all have different opinions, but most of us at least watch a movie before giving our opinion of it.
@PrinzessinHarlequin The fact that u said Jared Leto did a good joker
@PrinzessinHarlequin WATCH the movie, THEN build an opinion. Or write about it. How are you commenting if you don't know what you're commenting....
@PrinzessinHarlequin Your opinions are nothing more than the character failing to develop in a way that would meet your preconceived notions, a movie that does what you don't expect, or necessarily want, doesn't mean it's bad, to dislike a movie just because it didn't conform to your predestined opinions is just ridiculous, you can't judge a film for what it isn't, rather what it is, Hell you cant even judge this movie, because you haven't even watched it. This Joker is a different take on the joker yes, but it doesn't mean this Joker has to become the definitive origin for the character and if you actually watched the movie, it's made quite clear that the jokers backstory is still a mystery, why are you getting all upset because you seem to think each movie of a comic book character is the official canon, remember in the comic book universe there are multiple universes and each universe is considered a show/film/cartoon. ... As for Leto he is an absolute narcissistic, self-entitled psychopath in real life, he tried to get this movie canned because it wasn't him playing Joker, who the hell does that guy think he is, trying to sabotage another mans career, what a loser. It's good to give other actors a chance to give their take on the character and a director tell a story that we can't just predict. That's what makes movies interesting. Read moreLess
I don't know what movie a lot of the good ratings come from. this move is boring for the first three quarters. sorry to me im glad I didnt go see this in the theater.1 star
Mr. Phoenix is superb as Joker indeed.
Brilliant film. Arthur was such a tragic figure.
all I had to see was that Frances Conroy was playin' in this movie, ie, she don't play in no crap. that is, of course, essentially true of Joaquin Phoenix, as well. and, it don't disappoint. the movie explores so many layers of human emotion and psychology and, for me, anyway, shows that more and more synchronicity is happenin' all the time. oh, and he was totally justified in blowin' those Wall Street f**kheads away.
Disturbing movie. Watch it.
Holy Moly this is one terrible movie, this is not art, looks like there just trying to make a reason to take away the weapons from people saying that we are all insane. This really had nothing to do with batman and it made joker seem like he was just a insane idiot. Joker was smart psychopath, not some nut believing things are happening and they are not. How could this version of joker ever take on batman. I turned it off midway and will never watch any movie by this director again. There is hardly violence in this movie, just a story about some nutjob. He certainly is not the joker, it is way off from the real story of joker, but Todd Philips is a bad director and Joaquin has never been a good actor, so what to expect from B rated director and C rated actor. I see people reviewing this movie saying the same sh*t, it was beautiful piece of art, lol, repeat what the major critics are saying over and over. This movie was sh*tty from the beginning to the end. Bad acting, bad plot and bad directing. ... Whoever wrote this really destroyed Batman and his villains. This was straight to DVD movie, was not theater worthy. If you want to see how the joker is really suppose to be, go look at the Dark Knight, heath ledger did the joker role proper. Read moreLess
The ending of this movie makes me smile. Watch it, it’s good.
I already knew Phoenix could play a mad crazy man after having seen him in Gladiator. I hated his character, and he made that happen, so I was looking forward to this. I was not disappointed by his acting skills. He is all-in and he inhabits the character. That’s where all my stars go. To the acting. The actual story is nothing like I expected. Fleck is pathetic. Nothing more, nothing less. He should be getting help. We see bit about that, but it takes place in an imaginary city, Gotham, and it is never explained why it’s so gross and dirty and so many people are going without their basic needs being met. I don’t read comics, and the viewer shouldn’t be expected to have this pre-knowledge. So Fleck is pitiful and as the movie goes along, he just gets MORE pitiful. We learn horrible things about his past. There is nothing and no one redemptive in this pathetic person’s story. He’s no Travis Bickle, who fooled everyone and presented as normal and then snapped and showed us the real Travis. ... He’s not even a delusional loser like we can laugh at like Pupkin. In fact, Fleck, doesn’t even kill more than a few people in his “killing spree”. Fleck isn’t even criminally insane like Ledger’s Joker. He’s pathetic. Right from the start to the whimpering little ending. And Joaquin plays pathetic beautifully, masterfully, painfully real, but it’s not enough. It’s one dimensional. Very uninteresting. Read moreLess
@ditzygypsy The director does not know how to let a story unfold. He's awful!
@ditzygypsy Thats realy interesting point of view.
I can see that this side of Joker wasnt all that comical or magical.
But I guess that is what they want to serve for now.
For me the message is clear that if you crack somebody all his life, a lot of times the most logical thing to be is simply a broken person, not a batman, or a mastermind.
I would be so thrown off if he turned to some kind of evil genius from this. He was caged physically and mentally all his life. He got ptsd that even he wasnt aware of. He doesnt know who he is at all until the very end of the movie.
Thats very human, you can say basic, but you cant deny they present the story so beautifully
@kent.girl The acting was superb. The story was dull. It could’ve been about any broken person amongst the millions of people who suffer from mental illness. But THE Joker? Not in my opinion. It’s like they called it Joker just so people would go see a movie about a broken man. Could’ve been called anything and it could’ve been about anyone. But yes, the acting was amazing.
@ditzygypsy I guess thats true.
As sad or pathetic the character was, I actually feel delighted after seeing this movie because Joaquin Phoenix is so good and the conematography is perfect.
When you put it that way, it makes sense.
Well it has made 500milion in like 2weeks so they probably will make another one.
It would be a waste of talent.
I already heard the new Robert Pattinson's Batman producers already pushing this Joker to be in their universe and whatknot
@ditzygypsy Wow you totally missed the whole point of what the movie was trying to convey. To understand Joker which nobody can actually do but too try you have to get insight on Fleck. Yes he was chained and abused as a kid, we know he's a loser as a grown man and everything in his life supporting that assumption, But that doesn't mean he's not a Legend. what your not getting is the director/writers Todd Phillips & Scott Silver created a storyline that parallels reality as much as possible. For instance Newyork city is commonly referred to as Gotham city we know what Gotham was modeled from. Like why are people so rude from Ny? why does it smell downtown or why is it a rat infestation? You don't need every single answer to these questions but you still accept the situation. There will always be Liberals there will always be Trumpers no matter what even if nobody identifies with those labels. ... The same applies to this story. You don't need to read comics to know the nuances of taking the Batman story early on in the years Bruce Wayne was young right before his parents got killed and showing the world through the eyes of the most iconic villain in history and answer conundrums millions have wondered about, Who raised him? Why does he always laugh? Why is he so skinny? But answered in a world as real as possible. Joaquin did a marvelous job but there was a lot of phenomenal talent behind this feature. Shame if you missed it. Read moreLess
@TKrapMusic you are digesting the movie way way off the lane.
what @ditzygypsy wrote made sense.
As great as the performance is, this is not reaaaly a JOKER story.. and many can argue its not worth the JOKER title.
I love this movie, but I didnt see a single manipulation the character Joker famously does
@TKrapMusic I disagree with the story being anything other than a story about a broken person who really did nothing super horrible; at least nothing more and even less than what I would’ve expected him to do. I was expecting more, but I was disappointed. I missed nothing as far as the character development. He was one dimensionally pathetic. I did feel for him, but he was no mastermind or even a great bad guy. And we knew he was unstable from the get go, and he didn’t develop at all during the movie. We only got to understand a little more of why he was pathetic. But that was it. I don’t even see what people were so up in arms about with the violence. I am pretty sensitive to violence and I was wondering where all his rage was and when it would come out. It never did. I didn’t miss anything; the movie missed making its mark on me. But then, I shouldn’t have thought it might be as good as Taxi Driver or The King of Comedy or even The Dark Knight. ... It’s not even in that league. Joaquin’s acting was brilliant, but the premise and the execution of the movie was bland. It’s just my very disappointed opinion. Not much goes over my head when it comes to character development, but thank you for mentioning that. 🙄 Read moreLess
All hail Joaquin Phoenix!! *On knees bowing down* this man is one of THE BEST actors of all time and consistently puts out riveting, phenomenal performance after riveting phenomenal performance. After the movie ended, I sat trying to figure out the order in which I would rank my favorite "Joker" actors such as Joaquin Phoenix, Jack nickelson, Heath ledger, and Jared Leto, but I'm truly stumped and keep swapping positions for one reason or another so I've come to the conclusion that no matter how I try to slice it, I'll never be satisfied with the order I put them in. Moving on...
I absolutely loved the story. I've seen movies that show the making of certain characters before or origin stories as some call it, but this one is definitely at the top of the food chain. It's brutal, dark, and plausible which makes for a fantastic watch when all of the elements come together like they did in this masterpiece. Joaquin Phoenix coupled with the amazing cinematography, direction, background music and supporting cast was cinematic beauty, cinematic perfection.
I had so much that I planned to comment in my review, but everything I had in my mind to say or could have said, was said in Box's review below and honestly is the only review needed on this page. In saying that, I'll end it here. Read moreLess
Interesting movie. Phoenix's performance is definitely quite excellent and the whole film hinges on it. It felt to me that it could have been edited down a bit although I did like the fact that the director allowed JP to play out many scenes, just lingering on his performance.
The whole movie is quite dour but rightfully so to show how the Joker arrived to be his twisted, messed up self. I think I may need to see this again to fully appreciate it and take it all in.
[SPOILER]I wasn't wild about the very end of the movie where Joker is in the mental hospital since I felt the previous riot scene was an epic ending. How did Joker get into the hospital when he basically was free in the previous scene? I have so many questions. Which is a good thing since it obviously had me thinking.
It's definitely not a perfect film but it is quite excellent with great performances by the cast and a stellar soundtrack that I had listened to before seeing the movie.
If you only manage to get to the cinema once this year then JOKER should be your movie of choice !!! In the current climate of Hollyweird and its extremist pandering to sjw/woke outrage this film is VITAL !
A masterful and at times unhinged performance from Joaquin Phoenix in the titular role is mesmerising. He is conveying all the desperation, frustration, the naked descent into madness, as much with his body movement as with his spoken delivery. An incredible performance.
Other standouts are the cinematography, art direction and in particular the soundtrack which all combine in a volcanic crescendo in the last 15 minutes. Two distinct colour palettes and screen ratios are used brilliantly; a sort of ‘before’ and ‘after’ to accentuate two different levels of madness - one saddening and one euphoric.
"I used to think that my life was a tragedy, but now I realize, it's a f**king comedy“ !!!
So do yourself a favour. Get to the cinema and ‘Put on a Happy Face’ as I guarantee you will be smiling after watching this cinematic masterpiece. ... 🤡🤡🤡 Read moreLess
10/10 absolutely superb. Ties in great with heath ledgers role and the Wayne story... those that are complaining that it’s making a mockery of mental health issues are clearly missing the point. Maybe cus they never had those types of issues small or large. As some one who has this movie resonates with me on a higher level. Bravo
I watched the hell out of this last night! I can't believe why reviewers declare this to be so violent. I've seen a lot worst. I will say, this gets a 10/10 & I'm a Marvel fan. So a score like that has to tell you something! [SPOILER]I can't help but to place this right before 2008's The Dark Knight. It fits so perfectly to Heath Ledgers Joker. Of course years later. BRAVO!
If you want to know the "origin" of the joker, this movie is the one to watch, although sad at times to see someone that is so far into the "darkness of insanity" . Phoenix did an excellent job, that laugh was creepy enough that it gave me nightmares(literally, lol). Excellent acting on everyones part. Dark Knight is still my favorite Joker movie..showing the Joker beyond redemption,at his highest evil, and wants the world to burn..
I give this movie a ten all the way across the board he played the hell at of this part best joker played yet better heath leger joaquin phoenix just won award for this appears of the part acted his ass off best part was rite at 1:29:22 wow lil dude was f**ked up with that sooo funny hey can you get tha door lol
It is a great movie.. One of the best jokers.really really recommend it.
This is a dark film but, in a strange and funny way. Just a simple guy in New York getting brutalized and has had enough. Being made the but of jokes. And after the one tragedy, then a damning report that makes him snap. Not to say that he was a ticking time bomb. Joaquin Phoenix deserves an oscar for his performance. He's absolutely great. Many things to say about the twisted events that mess up his life would be spoilers. This is a must watch. I would give it a 9.5 out of 10. One of the best parts has to do with Robert De Niro towards the end. I despise De Niro and low and behold, redemption.
@tesla1911 DeNiros redemption-
He FINALLY fixed those nasty RAT teeth
@tesla1911 Maybe I'll get a bunch of cards printed out that say what he gives to the lady on the bus. "Forgive my laughter, I have a disorder and a pathology that causes sudden frequent and uncontrollable mood changes that do not correspond to the state of mind. This can happen to people with brain lesions or particular neurological disorders. Thank you!"
Wow, just wow! I can't say anything as eloquently as some of the other commenters but I can say, this is a great movie. So dark, so deep. Joaquin Phoenix is a master at his craft. Sublime. I can't recommend this enough.
Music by Paul Francis Gadd/Gary Glitter was used in this movie. Reportedly, in 1999 Paul Francis Gadd admitted to being in possession of child pornography, for which he was convicted. In 2015 he was convicted of attempted rape and indecent assault.
@Twomovies_username Yeah, I noticed that too. Why play a Gary Glitter song? Not only have I always hated that song, I know G. Glitter is into kids so it makes me ill to hear it. Perhaps that's why this d**khead director used it.
Absolute Genius Movie. Watch it! Perfect Acting. Maybe the best Movie this year? Good mindblowing story
Favorite Super Hero movie yet. Why? An excellent background story, which just draws you into loving the Joker. [SPOILER]Who evidently is Batman's Uncle? Go figure. Gotham City is just a village after all.
Joaquin Phoenix's performance is phenomenal, they couldn't have picked a better lead. It was also nice to see Robert Dinero out there cuting the rug again.
No need to say more, just read the other reviews. It would appear that the Joker is someone that everyone can sympathize with to some degree.
Unrelated Tangent: Sympathy for the Joker. Mick Jagger should sing it.
The use of the word Empathy is being overdone in these days, and I've had arguments with English Grammar Nazis on this, but Empathy is when you have experienced exactly the same thing as another and associate with it. Sympathy, is when you listen and try to imagine what the experience would have been like, but you have not personally experienced the exact procession of events. So Empathy is almost unachievable and is a paragon of Sympathy. ... The French language is more precise on this matter, as when a woman thinks a guy is sexy or acceptable, her most likely comment will be, "Il est sympa". She is referring to the fact that he has the quality of being sympathetic. Read moreLess
it is gorgeous in theater experience.
Beautifully shot, beautifully acted, beautifully wrapped.
it would be so risky for Joaquin Phoenix to be just a clown in this and overreact, but he just hit every emotion right on the spot, make it impactful to the audience.
NO no dont worry and whine about violence.
John Wick killed hundred people in one movie in a super graphic way possible.
This movie doesnt do that at all. Chill
@kent.girl I agree wholeheartedly that this film is a ‘must’ for the big screen and surround sound. The impact would be lessened watching on a TV. 🤡
Heath who?? Jack Nicholson What?!!? Jared Le....Ok yeah, Thats A TRUE Stretch(sorry bout that Generation whatever TF you surely named yourselves, on Reddit no doubt.) Anyways, all Jokes aside(get it? All Jo...yeah you got it), in Joaquin Phoenix the Standard has been officially raised to, dare I say, PERFECTION? It may be that I am eerily similar in my own life to that of Mr Arthur Fleck's big screen dramatization, why I think we have the new benchmark. Like the Joker, I have held a gun, I have, and I know this will blow your brains right out your left nostril, but get this... I too am a Male, but wait there is something else that makes our connection mirror reflection like or like shadows. I also have a Mother!!! BOOM BABY!!! CALL ME JOKER! Or join my wife and my daughter and lovingly refer to me as either Jack Ass or Retard**k!
As far as the movie and my similar on all levels existence, it is much watch entertainment! Tell me the truth though, several hours after the end credits have rolled and you are doing whatever it is your doing, tell me you're not haunted by that laugh!
If you do not have that laugh embeded in your soul for a long time after watching, YOU ARE NOT HUMAN! BUT YOU ARE, Well, you are the grand prize winner and you get to send me your wife's nudes! CONGRATS MATE! Sending them via this site is cool.

THIS performance is from outer space. This laughter is from hell and pain.
Phoenix lost over 20 kg of weight and this man is able to let his shoulder blades actually act
dark darker ...Joker

if the ones Trump made loosers react like the Gotham community ....

"JOKER" 9/10 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 = HEAVY WORSHIP
Theres been a while since a comic book related movie has delivered on all levels. This film I was especially weary of because Joaquin Phoenix is such a great actor sometimes writers and directors he works with over play their hand and butcher films that should be great but end up being a debacle like his outing in 2017 "You Were Never Really Here" But this film "Joker" kind of caught me off guard because writer/director Todd Phillips didn't dress this film in the usual super villain comic story attire that plagues the cinema screens giving this film an altruistic or unselfish and realistic dive into the mad mind of the world's most beloved and celebrated villain "Joker". This film may not be a true story but it's hard not to imagine "Arthur Fleck / Joker" having a life that doesn't parallel to thousands of others who lived and felt those similar conditions. ... I think telling this story in the way Todd reveals it not only pushes the boundaries for cinema but also intertwines our sense of reasoning of what we perceive to be good or bad, and at a time in america as divided as we are the timing for the release of this film seems to be impeccable. Have not seen this Joker movie, and I think Arthur is in this movie but it is, so it was all about the Joker, because I haven't seen this movie for the whole time, and the intro part is very similar better than the prequel movie.
@MarieCateyes Did you watch this movie?
Joaquin Phoenix is a great actor. He's unique. He's a wonder to watch. The story of Joker is intriguing. I felt so sorry for Arthur in this film. Isn't that what film is supposed to do? Suck you in and make you feel like it's real? The characters are real?
In the end, I understand how one can get to this point. It's a breaking point. And it is getting crazier out there. I thought the movie was going to be a bit crazier but it's 100% a character piece. I still enjoyed it.
Don't trust the Joker, especially with your heart.
Bravo----Bravo! 10/10. Totally compliments Ledgers performance. Was wondering why the cucks were getting up & leaving the house, would love too know which part got them 1st....[SPOILER].'No Unsuper Patients ...4'...was a nice touch at the end on the wall.
For 120+ minutes I was seduced by Joaquin Phoenix and Todd Phillips into following them through their vision of Gotham, where the garbage lies piled high on the streets of the city and the people go about their daily business of whatever they need to do to pay the bills, and put food on the table.
Arthur/Happy is doing exactly that as a clown, but instead of getting people to laugh with him, he provokes them to laugh at him. He finds comfort and safety in the apartment that he shares with his dear mother who used to work for a certain Mr. Wayne (Bruce's Dad) some thirty years before.
Mental illness, flights of fancy and a knack of laughing at the wrong time in front of the wrong people lead him into a series of events and actions from which there is no returning.
This is a wonderful piece of film ART, and Phoenix paints a Joker that is imbued with humanity in all its lightness and darkness. An unforgetable performance and a worthy prize winner in any award ceremony.
I noticed homages to Taxi Driver, The French Connection and The King of Comedy and the music is awesome. But it is a film about the times we live in even though the cars are from a different era.
This is a winner, and I need to watch this again, and again, and again ......... Read moreLess
@😷.box.😷 What The Man said,
after all the ridiculous super/anti hero glut that have been all Movieland can offer,
we finally get a picture that has credibility and a very fine performance by Joaguin Phoemix,
very enjoyable movie and lets hope this sets the standard-
entertain us but give us QUALITY and its in abundance here. 9/10
@😷.box.😷 Sounds like it insn't about the Joker or really the DC Universe, but you enjoyed it & was good. That's totally what this film looked like from the outside but I wish they'd stop having to re-hash things to tell A story, ANY story.
btw- maybe; lil 'Spoiler' button, meh?
@ᚘ𝕺ƸᚰĦҜïᑻ⭍🌑 It is totally about a Joker but not one that has been portrayed like this in a Batman movie to date.
I try not to give much away in my reviews so apologies for any spoilers that may have taken/may take away from your enjoyment.
@😷.box.😷 Okay i getcha, just yeah hate spoilers or even knowing much about the movie at all before i see it , never peep the trailers either cause they show all the best scenes and often show something totally different than what the film is in a bid to up sales and attract as many ticket buyers as possible.
I appreciate it btw gracias,have a goodn' comrade !
@ᚘ𝕺ƸᚰĦҜïᑻ⭍🌑 Didn't see where he revealed any "spoilers" but i get not wanting to know anything about a movie before watching one. Along with your not wanting to know anything or watch trailers, May i suggest maybe not reading comments/reviews before watching a particular movie either?? Ijs because thats obviously where you will find out stuff about a movie i.e. opinions and the occasional spoiler. Just seems contradictory.
@😷.box.😷 I was coming here to comment after watching this film, but you completely knocked it out of the park and covered any and everything I would have said except you did it far better than I probably would have. Evil needs to just disable comments on this page and leave only yours. 💚
@◦•●◉✿♡Momof3αηgєℓѕ♡✿◉●•◦ Agreed. No idea why I waited so long to watch this. But I am going to watch it again tomorrow. Box said it all.
