Really enjoyed this movie. The acting was good along with the story line. I recommend it as a descent couple of hours entertainment.
Just an addition, the director David MacKenzie asked the writer Taylor Sheridan "How did you like it?" and Sheridan said, "It's like someone dancing with your wife. If they do it badly you don't like that and if they do it well ... they ****ing don't like that." Enough said.
Excellent Movie, actually kept me entertained throughout....9/10
Why in the hell did I put off watching this movie for so long? It's gotta be one of the best movies I've EVER seen. I adore Jeff Bridges in these kind of roles. I especially love the ending. Amazing! If you haven't watched this already, do so! A well deserved 10/10.
I usually use the comments when disappointed in a movie. This time I am commenting because I was impressed. This western action crime movie had some clever humor added to make it worth watching. Well written and very engaging you won't be disappointed with the acting either.
Not bad but was worth the watching. So I 'm giving dis a 3 and a half stars out of 5 stars. Not only because for me I think it was really worth the watching but sum part was slower then others. So for what it is worth a movie well worth the watching.. Thanks.. ...
This isn't my type of movie but I really enjoyed it. I do love Ben Foster and he didn't disappoint. Jeff Bridges is his typical funny man with a gruff voice and Chris Pine is great as well.
I just saw a very big chunk of my life pass before my eyes! And definitely, a parade of some people I loved, liked, despised and hated. Fortunately, I only came close to killing a few of them, three were in my sights. And I can't count the number of fights, and fortunately, I lost only once...
And one line was something I learned about a year ago, that I suspected, "a long time ago you was the Indians, and somebody took it from you!" Which is true, "that most of the White European People are former Indians called Celts, who were squashed by the Romans so badly, that they believe that they are them, too bad!"
Anyway, a great movie, direction, perfect cast, location, and the Soulful Western Music fit like a glove. And the story was spot on, and it is amazing how many Psyhchos live among us today! Oh, and it is not often that I laugh out loud watching a movie, but this one rocked me from beginning to end!
Happy Healthy Trails
What a cool movie I really enjoyed it the ending was weird but the movie overall was really good.
I've seen this about 30x since it was released. I'm not proud... there's something about it. Taylor Sheridan wrote it, the script was called Comanches, it's got it all. Script, cinematography, acting(Jeff, Chris, Gil,Ben, and even the minors are majors in this), the music from Nick Cave(the Badseeds), Waylon Jennings and Gillian Welsh stand out.. this blows. There is not one, not one.. boring scene in this film.
"So how the fu*k did you manage to stay out of prison for a year."
complete picture in every way 500/5
"So what dontcha wont.".. a rattlesnake for a waitress.
Classic Westerns often ended with a showdown, and you could argue that “Hell or High Water” serves up a clever variation on that. In any case, the ending left me a bit uneasy, and represents something of a falling off from the quality of what precedes it. But I don’t think it’s enough to undo Mackenzie’s generally good work.
Wow, Classic Country Movies made anywhere after the 90's? Hard to Come By. But G-dangit if they didn't do it! This movie is meant to be watched loud on a big HD screen w/ a case of beer and pair of boots kicked off! Enjoy!
(and if you know anything about good (country) Music, this soundtrack kicks major !ass)
REally great film.. Great characters/actors ... Not soo much an original story (BUT ALOT OF PEOPLE CAN RELATE TO IT).. def a well made film to watch although AGAINST ALL THE OTHERS its not an oscar "best picture" winner..
O.K. FLIK, BUT NOT REALLY AWESOME. GLAD I DID`NT PAY TO SEE IT. 2.75/5.
