Tom Sharpe wrote some wonderful comedy making fun of people who took themselves too seriously. I think his South African novels (Riotous Assembly, Indecent Exposure) were his best. Anyone who lived in S Af. will understand why he was deported!

Tom Sharpe invented the Laugh Out Loud for me in the 80s. Some of the books were adapted to the small screen but couldn't do the books justice for me.

Any suggestions from down under?
