I am talking about the drama title here! I am not intending to share anyone's flat, haaa. I watched it last year, thought I wrote a review on this, should there be any interest.
"The flatshare" is about two people time-sharing a flat, i.e., each occupied (rent) the flat only at a certain time, and both not seeing each other. And when they want to talk to each other, post-it note is the only way, and that's where romance starts to grow. "The flatshare" opened to a great reception by viewers on paramount+. Fans praised its cast and screenplay, which was adapted from a 2019 best selling novel. I find the screenplay was well crafted, often keeping to minimal lines and using facial expression/acting to convey messages, and much supported by the excellent editing throughout, makes one feel totally at ease with the pace, and engaged with the two leads' chemistry, and just glued you to your seat.
If you are old school (like I do) and still believing in the wonder of "letter writing" to develop relationship, then this comedy drama should not be missed, except that, this time round, is not a "snall mail" style of letter writing, instead, is using post-it notes. Critics claimed this approach is cheesy, but maybe not when Anthony Welsh is playing the male lead, Leon, who has that gentleness and kindness to his look, and with that low-ish mellow tone to his voice, really make him extremely warm and likeable, more so when he was portrayed as a nurse in the drama, and often showing caring gestures to his patients.
... Relationship/friendship developed via writing device/medium often could help build relationship with strength and depth and can be very heartfelt and moving. This drama cleverly makes use of "post-it note" as a writing medium to mimic a "penpals" situation and has successfully captured the heart of many, proving that this approach has been effective.
