Even though this movie isn’t R-Rated, the Venom movie was an unforgettable, underestimated, awesome movie that showed portrayed the bond between Venom and Eddie Brock in the best possible way. and artistic in my opinion. It was a super genius idea for Ruben Fleischer to direct a spin-off based off of the most famous villain from Spider-Man. Not only did they bring him back as a villain like in Spider-Man 3 but turning him into a superhero. Marvel must have been obsessed with the whole anti-hero movie-type spiel kinda like how DC was when they just recently made Birds of Prey when they bring back Harley Quinn not in her super-villain routine but instead bringing her back into a superhero. But anyways, let's get back to talking about Venom! It begins with a journalist named Eddie Brock who gets superpowers by being infected by an Extraterrestrial Symbiote which species plans to invade Earth and nothing else you could expect besides Venom just going around killing around people more like in his Super-Villain routines. ... One last thing, I love the mid-credits which kinda makes sense to me which means the film is gonna spawn a sequel and indeed it has. Carnage is the next Symbiote movie, But now i will get high hopes for the other Marvel movies such as The New Mutants, Black Widow, and Morbius. Gonna give this 10/10 stars. btw Tom Hardy is hawt!! lol. Read moreLess
I like this one maybe didnt follow the conventional contemporary comic book to movie line of being made nowadays but was well done none the less..of course the back and forth between the symbiote and eddie was a nice touch..this one had the anti superhero storyline done well!..I liked the premise and the setup behind this one and this chracter might have been difficult to do a standalone movie for as you usually tie Venom into Spiderman but they pulled it off..The action the suspense the comedic liners were all there and made this one have a pretty high octane pace once it got going!..Waiting on a sequel want some more of that Venom?
The best ever? lol. er, no. It was entertaining though. And what's his face is a damned good actor. He's so serious in real life and quite the thespian.
No desire to rewatch though. It was entertaining for the first go round.
Absolutely love this movie. This is my 5th time watching it. I seem to get a chuckle at the same point in the very beginning of the movie... the part where he says "One day we will live in space." We already live in space with an already designed eco system, water, oxygen, beautiful atmosphere... lol!
Probably the best ever Marvel movie. Most other Marvel movies have too many superheroes or they have plots and fantasies that are recycled. This film however is a unique never been done before thing, and for that reason alone it's head and shoulders above the rest. But also, the distinction between who's good and who's bad is blurred, not at all clear, which makes it interesting. Visually too it stands out, way better than costumed men and women wearing masks. Batman and Spiderman, the Xmen and Superman, compared to this film they all seem so ordinary. Hopefully there'll be sequels. If so I look forward to seeing them for this film was 10 out 10.
I hadn't planned on watching this. I've had my fill of Marvel superheros, and mutants. And my ten year old grandson couldn't wait to see it...so I thought " how good could it be?" Well, it won't win any academy awards [I don't think] but it wasn't bad! There are 3,327 REVIEWS of this on IMDB! LOL! I've never seen so many for one film. Apparently it moved a lot of people. It's a simple plot. Former reporter Eddie gets involved[SPOILER]in a symbiotic relationship with an alien, and when he is threatened, the symbiot takes over protecting them both. As he is pursued, this happens a lot. NNot a bad film. I didn't regret watching it. I've seen a lot worse. 8/10 P. S. Michelle Williams was a knockout!
I'm just getting around to watching this. I know, I'm extremely late but it happens. I did try watching it months ago though. there weren't any English links at the time and after a while I moved on and forgot about it. I don't know much about comics and the characters in them anymore so I'm not sure how close anything in this movie is to any of that so I won't pretend to know and comment on such. I kinda quit reading them by the time I reached adulthood and have forgotten a lot of specifics. Never got too old to not like movies based on the characters though. I was thrilled to see Tom hardy cast as venom. Not only is he one of THE HOTTEST men on the planet, but he's a phenomenal actor too. I mean, who doesn't like a handsome face, gorgeous perfect body with a sexy accent?? (It was so weird hearing him without it) Yes!! I'll marry you!! Oh, sorry. Got carried away there.🤓 I loved the action in this movie and thought the effects were pretty awesome, if I might say so myself. ... No need to comment on the acting because that's a given. The story was thrilling and quite entertaining. If you're on the fence or just late like I was then you should definitely check this out. Like my dad says, "sh*t or get off the pot."😂😂 Read moreLess
Im rating this movie average. The concept and visuals were good, but the movie didnt exceed any high expectations as prior superhero genres. The action sequences played out could have been more fast paced hard core.
It didnt generate any interest , Maybe the reason is because Im not a follower of Tom Hardy. If you find yourself in a bored place, in need of something to do then venom is your answer. As always its great to see Michelle Williams find succesus in life after dawsons creek. I think I would be more excited to watch her character in a spinoff. We are in need of more feminine superheros
didnt care for this flick. the best part was the cameo towards the end by the one and only, the great late mr. lee, may he rest in peace. you will be missed but never forgotten
That was great, never read the comics but enjoyable nonetheless. 4/5 worth the hd wait
Decent movie, the GFX was good and the acting was good. 4 out of 5
Cool movie.I hope they make a sequel!
I did not expect that the story would take place in San Francisco, I thought it will be New York. And I knew that there were other symbiots from the Spiderman cartoons, like Carnage. I expected the other symbiot in this movie to be Carnage, but unfortunately it wasn't. I want to see Carnage and Venom cooperating and later fighting each other, that would be cool. But overall, this movie looks nice, good special fx.
I enjoyed this movie very much. It was very entertaining to watch & I was never left bored.
“‘Venom’ never fully embraces or maximizes the exuberant nastiness of its premise. This is one instance in which a story that should have been unsparingly dark feels hobbled, even sanitized, by its PG-13 rating, and also by the usual Hollywood franchise imperatives. In time, of course, Eddie and Venom will eventually become a functional buddy-comedy duo, with Eddie partaking of Venom’s extraordinary abilities while bringing those pesky deadly impulses under submission.”
WOW!Great Graphic's! I really enjoyed this, I've never read the comic's but
it never took away from the movie for me anyways. Acting and story were really good and I liked the wee bit of humor between the two. Looking forward to the next installment. There is a small part after 1st song and some credits.
Woody Harrelson as Carnage lol that is as interesting as the Avengers Endgame is exciting. 2 good 1s to wait for. R.I.P Stan Lee as well, sad he his gone but glad he was here to bring about things such as this and years worth of entertainment in many different forms. Legend.
Really entertaining movie, don't remember Venom being so funny but it's been a while since I read a Venom comic. 4 out of 5.
This was really cool
it was very good movie marvel did more than I expected , spiderman va venom movie would be epic
Awesome Movie...great special effects.
a lot funnier than i expected for an action/sci-fi movie.
Tom Hardy is excellent as Venom.
Tom Hardy as Venom! Now that is genius. Not only can Hardy bring in a crowd, he is a brilliant actor, some may even say a character actor, and he is a fan of the Venom character. So it is just a smart desision made by Sony studios.
Good movie!! However the film does portray venom as capable of being a good guy . the way venom is introduced to eddie Brock seemed wrong to me too. Other then that great graphics and action.
Although it is a bit morbid compared to other Marvel Comic movies, this film still achieves a good "symbiotic" formula of ordinary guy loses it all with hopes of possible redemption and romance. I enjoyed the movie very much, especially the inner dialogue. RIP Stan.
It's a little fun movie. Definitely not the "hot garbage" that the critics were making it to be. I really enjoyed watching it with my little siblings. We had so much fun. But the film was way too short. And the actual MAIN villain.... Riot was monumentally wasted. Deserved waaay more screen time. I give it a 7 outta 10
I had no idea who Venom was before this movie because I'm not a fan of Marvel Comic movies, do people actually read comics these day's? I thought Venom was a snake lol he does look a lil like one with the teeth and eyes, but yeah no.... turns out he's alien lol so clearly I don't know Jack sh*t, but I loved this movie or it could be to because Tom Hardy played Venom and Bronson been one of my favorite movies! But after watching this and after much research and then reading about Carnage and what a super freak he is, I can't wait for a sequel! So just like that, one becomes a fan!
@⋆☆Danny☆⋆ Yes, they do read them AKA "Graphic Novels", but probably not at all what you're imagining. "30 Days of Night", "The Walking Dead", "Valerian", etc., are all "comics" aka Graphic Novels. :)
Really dislike this movie so much, and I really like the kiss scene, and it was exactly the same scenes as well
I really enjoyed this movie. It does vary from the original character but I am liking the new good/bad venom. And I look forward to seeing more of Eddie and Venom together. The cgi/fx were decent enough, and the story was solid enough to carry it thru until the end which it more than most big screen films can do these days. Tom Hardy does a fantastic job as the whimpy hero haha. Solid 4/5 from me.
I'm largely disappointed, but I know the Venom from the comics, and he (mostly) isn't this Venom. There were definitely some really fun parts, when they focused on the Eddie/Venom relationship and the action got going, but there were too many continuity errors [SPOILER]like they mentioned Eddie's bad heart, Venom said he could heal it, but it was never brought up again that bugged me. I also had zero enjoyment with Michelle Williams. If her part was completely removed and more time was invested on background for the Symbiotes it would have been an amazing film. The villain was also too obvious for my taste. I hope that the next film will be a bit more sinister and get an R rating, that is a big issue for me in presenting Venom; he's NOT nice and only does things that benefit him as he is completely self serving. Thanks a million for the links to all who shared.
@ [SPOILER]I enjoyed the eventual bromance between Brock and Venom more than anything that happened between Brock and the woman 😁
@delamitri Totally agree with that.
@delamitri Lol [SPOILER]I agree! :)
@ I did enjoy the movie, but also agree with you, I dont know anything about Venom so watched for what it was, a Hollywood movie, felt some things were missing, as in Michelle's character felt like an afterthought, they didnt have much chemistry she actually suited being with Dan more and, Venom became nicer and jovial a bit too quickly, I loved Tom Hardy in this. [SPOILER]Looking forward to seeing the continuation of Woody Hareleson's character
I do think its worth a second watch.
@ijaija They need to stop attempting the PG13 rating for this character. Venom is R, full stop. They really are limited with a PG13. I also love Woody and look forward to this and "Zombieland 2". :)
I like that this is a self-contained story. What a fun ride with a flawed superhero. The premise [SPOILER]of the eventual bonding over being losers totally won me over. Plenty of humor and action. I enjoyed it.
This was a great mover, definitely better than I expected.
The way Venom was talking was really similar to Batman..
Its good after all. This is the last time we will ever see the legend Stan Lee for his cameo rule. RIP sir Stan. Thanks for the childhood til now and possibly forever memories.
Just watched it in decent quality
Tom Hardy is a class act and the film rolled along nicely with a little bit of MIB, the blob and deserved a better reception.
I don’t know what critics want these days but you can’t have avengers and guardians every few months.
I give it 4/5 for black humour and being quite violent but very watchable.
This movie was made for profit only. It's cheaply made and the story is weak and full of holes.
As someone who grew up with Venom since his introduction; I have to say, this movie sucked.
The most Venom moment was the end.
That being said. I CANNOT WAAAAAAIT FOR THE SEQUEL!!!! I mean, they have to introduce the character to new audiences, right? So, now that everyone knows who Venom is.. We can get down to seeing the real Venom in action. ^.^
Loved it! I haven't seen a Marvel movie that didn't deliver the wild action and the humor, and this is another winner! Hope they come back for more because Venom is a great anti-hero, full of mischief and mayhem, and Hardy does it justice. RIP Stan Lee and thank you for all the entertainment you gave us over the long years.
Great wonderful movie .. great poison though
This movie was pretty crazy. And Venom is so insane.
Gonna miss Stan, sniff...
Movie was OK, opening foundation was spiral down a rabbit hole, a 35% intro is 30% too much.
great movie. the symbiote is what makes this movie!!! lol funny lines!!!
Tom Hardy was great! just an out fantastic ride!! hope there is another one!
This movie was Venomously Good
Finally gave in and watched this. I was gonna wait for an HD copy but I just couldn't. It's awesome! I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't like this movie, it has it all. The funny parts are great. Tom Hardy does an excellent job in this. I can't wait for them to make another one. 10/10
I watched this last week end at the cinema on IMAX big screen, and Woww!! the movie got my eyes glued to the screen and damm i loved it, from the beginning to the end it was just enjoyable and awesome to watch. I find no faults in Venom, those that disliked the movie Venom it's probably they didn't watch it with heart, mind and soul but fustration in there minds saying it's a boring film but it wasn't. Good acting from all casts and i can't wait for part 2 of Venom. For those that haven't seen it yet NOW is the time and i recommend it..
I honestly loved this film. Filled with great action, sinister plot and touch of humour here and there. Great performance by Tom Hardy.
I don't know what's going on with all the negative reviews. People are really hard to please! I went to see that movie without any real expectations and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
- Tom Hardy does a fantastic job
- Venom is an interesting and fun character
- The plot is fairly classic for this type of movie; nothing good or bad about it
- The special effects are great - I loved the transformation scenes.
Overall, I recommend it if you like the genre, want to have a good time with a dose of laughters and aren't overly hard to please.
possibly the best movie I haw all year! sh*t chea!
I really dont know why the movie opens the way they did for solid 40minutes.
But I had a fun time watching this.
It is charming in a weird way I cant explain.
And despite sooo many parts spoiled in their trailer, They still have more story to tell & some surprises that kept me through the whole thing.
Still better CGI work than Suicide Squad or BatmanVShit.
Dont @ me
Really good fun, enjoyed every minute. thank you for the links :-)
Well I thought it was terrific. I hope there are more. The chase scene was quite a ride, and Tom Hardy was fantastic. Thank you so much uploaders.
I really enjoyed this movie, the humour had me genuinely laffing, and the storyline was interesting. If I had to have a gripe it would be that rocketship was uncalled for and I did not know who was who in the scuffle. I thought it was much better than those other marvel heroes movies.
loved it, had no issues watching or following plot, very typical of this syndicate...
hey not bad at all!! good humor & nice to see a so called "loser" actually win for a change.
Commenters are hating on this film as if any other Marvel film is supposed to be non-fiction. This movie was very entertaining, and far more exciting than Black Panther ever was, with all its hype. Venom kept me on the edge of my site far more often than most Marvel movies. love the wittiness of Venoms' character, making him seem more like your average Joe than something far fetched physiological alien. I couldn't help but wonder how could Spider-Man be considered a match for multifaceted abilities of Venom. Venoms' character is like a cross between Deadpool and Spider-Man, while the movie seemed to have taken a few pages from the, Men in Black, book, with not knowing who was an infected host. The jokes weren't too over the top, nor too weak, but, pretty much, logical, though some commenters seemed to expect him to be a stand up comedian. All in all, I'd give it an 8 out of 10, simply for lack luster acting abilities of most of the Asians in this movie.
I agree with most everything mentioned here about paper thin characters and the abrupt shift in venoms mentality yadda yadda. But it was entertaining none the less. 6.5/10
Highly over rated!! Some damned fool is going to make sequels out of this. Yes, the story is a good one, and the special effects are alright, but nothing you have`nt seen before, it can`t make up for the bad acting. Ruining it also are the stupid little juvenile comedic lines interjected here and there. Turning this from a `Thriller` into a reject from The Marvel comic book series. Fine watch for those 12 and under.
Meh not a hardcore fan of Venom so not sure if this story was anything like the comics. But as a movie it was not the best. Didn't found the story well put together. Seems like some parts where left in the editing room.
Also didn't believe the "Love" between the mains. They had no chemistry whatsoever.
And the connection between Eddy and Venom was paperthin. That is more a story thing than anything else. But for me Venom went from Lets kill the world to Lets save the world in an instant without any reasoning.
But it was entertaining to a point. If I was having a couple of friends over and with one too many beers I might have loved it. Sadly I wasn't and had to rely on the movie itself to keep me gripped and it failed to do that. I found myself looking for something to do way too many times.
Still a nice simple movie in terms of story and entertainment.
@Sincera Great points made here! Especially about how fast he changed his mind from mass extinction to let's all hold hands and save the world!
Wow really enjoyed this. It was great seeing Venom and Riot. Although the movie deviates a lot from the comics. It was just as excited. Looking forward to part 2 and possibly getting a bit more into the Klyntar race history. In some ways hoping it will lead into Guardians of the Galaxy, as it does in the comics. Hoping to see some of my fave symbiotes like Scream, Hybrid, Mania,Toxin and Scorn. I'm looking forward to the movie as whole. Although nicely nicely venom was strange but funny. Kind of sick of seeing Michele Williams in every damn good, perfect girlfriend role. Starting to mimic Gwenyth Paltrow roles. Need some fresh faces. It's not like they are low on actors in Hollwood. Anyways. Giving this a 8/10. Would have given it a 7. But the line about being a loser like you.. Made me rotfl. Couldn't. Great action spidery-kinda movie
Finally got through it. Honestly, not sure how I really feel. I mean, I always believed Venom was the darker side of Spiderman. Almost like supermans evil alter ego. However, this film plays a bit weird for me. Not the tone I was hoping for. The beginning almost had me hooked. Sadly, once Venom started talking everything really fell apart for me. Because the dialogue was so clumsy and honestly a bit amateurish. Mainly because of the addition of all these bad jokes being spewed from his mouth throughout the entire film that never really landed for me.
I was truly hoping for something a bit dark. Especially, with an actor like Tom Hardy who I felt talents were just wasted here. Seriously, you have the actor that gave us BANE! one of the most well-done villains after Heaths Joker. But sadly, none of that level of performance was used here.
Ideally, what could have made this film GREAT was if Christopher Nolan would of helm as director and screenwriter. Because then the tone, world, and performances would have been top tier! Unfortunately, we're stuck with another subpar wannabe corky Marvel film. I honestly, feel this IP would have done so much better under the DC umbrella. Also, the film really started to rush its self towards the end.
Not completely happy here, worth a one time watch.
Going to give this a 5.2 out of 10 Read moreLess
@Cinemapie Could not have said it any better..
I was so excited for this movie and, for me at least, it was awesome!
Enjoyed this movie. Pretty funny at the end. I guess there is going to be a Venom 2.
Tom U.F.C Bane. Mad Max. Charles Bronson. Both the kray twins. Hardy!!! He gets some bladdy good parts in some bladdy good movies.
Great movie. A villain main character is something that you won't see very often, but that just makes it more interesting. 8/10
I'm wondering how good it is to eat somebody's head off their shoulders now.....muhahhahahhha. Good movie
First, thank all the linkers for giving me nerd juice. I deserved to see this no matter what. Shout out to 2movies, mods, cellphone keyboards, lactose, and of course, a double shot of pepto. 4/5 m.williams really gets under my skin, but she was looking better in this. Definitely watch again
Not bad. A little rushed towards the end, but otherwise it was pretty good. It definitely has a "buddy cop" movie type of feel more than anything else. [SPOILER]I understand why they didn't go with Carnage as the antagonist for the first movie, but going with Riot was odd. He's not exactly liked much compared to most of the others, and not one that non-fans would recognize, where Carnage would be. Having similar coloring also made him not ideal for the action scenes.
Just finished watching this & all my god, it was damn good!!! People tried to estimate a bad film but it's not. I'm giving this one 9.5/10 because I'm such a geek for Marvel. I will tell you this much though[SPOILER]It doesn't have any after credit scenes or even the credits. So keep jumping in here to try to get a look at them on another link... Going to watch it again & again, then again, again.
Aha I like this Venom he seems nicer now 8/10.
OK, so a retelling/reimagining of the origin of Venom. Eddie Brock is still there, and so is an astronaut named Jameson....... But that's about all it has in common with the original. (I think the Jameson astronaut angle was a cartoon retelling.) The new Venom has a personality, and a mission as well. Lot's of room for sequels, even if we're now on the left coast. Not sure how he fits in the Marvel universe, but I think it's worth a watch.
This is a complete retelling of the Venom's origin that from the comic books. I won't go into detail, I'll just say Spiderman acquired it during Secret Wars (the first one from the 1980's) thinking it was a new and better costume.
Packed with a mixture of Action, Suspense, and a slight touch of Comedy, and Horror this movie is a must if you're into anti-heroes, this rocked pretty hard and Stan Lee cameo made me die laughing
Venom workes for an alternate Marvel Universe version so comic purists can enjoy a good action packed story
I just watched it in theatre I love the action, adventure & Performance by Tom Hardy is outstanding, we can see [SPOILER]She venom is there, Riot the main villain & hope the sequel gonna happen with Carnage the main bad symbiotes the story is so not great many have made me dissapointed but hey I enjoy a lot. I rated 4.5/5 .
I cheated and saw it at the Cinema last night as it was a cold rainy night and I felt like eating Caramel popcorn. I thoroughly enjoyed Venom and the funny bits were funny and Tom Hardy once again gave a Top Performance, this guy is so Talented. It had a reasonable story line and exciting action and humour-- what more could a person want in life??Venoms tongue is a Tongue and a half.
Don't care what language this is in,had reasonable expectations and excitement at the start of this movie,but.. So,the whole story line 1/5. The child giggling as he turns in and outta da 'monster' for me was the best part 2/5. In the end, should have stayed in the comic book. All in all,2/5 for the child giggling.MY POV
I saw this in the theater it rocked pretty hard but I'd of preferred the Spiderman Bell Tower Origin far better than what this movie gave us... the stan lee cameo made me die laughing
I guess Venom workes for an alternate universe version
