ok this is what i saw, the big angry monkey was bored and the big angry lizard was annoyed at something, the big monkey and the big lizard fight , the big lizard wins round one, then a cute deaf kid teaches the big angry monkey to talk and takes it to the center of the earth where the big angry monkey gets a big magic axe , mean while back at the ranch a mad guy builds a giant big angry metal lizard, which is controlled by some guy in a giant skull, the big angry monkey the fights the big angry lizard and wins round two as he now has a magic axe, but the big angry lizard gets up and wins round three almost killing the big monkey, then the robot lizard joins in and almost kills the big angry lizard ,meanwhile the big monkey gets a heart jump start and helps the big angry lizard and together they kill the big robot lizard and go off into the sunset to have big angry reptile monkey babies, amazing computer graphics and your kids will love it,i just want two hours of my life back please, i did not like this film
@Curzie were you born yesterday? what did you expect? this isn't a period piece with Danial Day Lewis. Stupid NPC review.
Original Godzilla was 300' tall, King Kong was 40'... Do the math. New Godzilla anime movies - he is around 1,800'... use Kong for toothpick.
Wow. That was a treat. Great movie but should have been way longer. For me some parts went past way too quickly. Would have been nice to see more of hollow earth but I guess that’s for a bother movie. Nice intro to mecha however small. That would have tied in nicely to the anami collection. Last bit seems to be cut off and it’s not the best of copies. Will watch again when on hbo max.
Dreadfully bad. It's got a terrible plot; but if you just want some Kaiju action scenes it's not bad for the sake of that.
However every other aspect of the movie is hot garbage and makes no sense. They had to buff the hell out of Kong and nerf Godzilla to even make the movie happen.

First review for the Better quality version
Kong has become the Rocky of the gigantic monster world.
He sure can take a beating while technology and middle earth fight it out to see who is the Apex predator.
The CGI is amazing as are the fight scenes but the rather confusing plot involving alternate power sources, human/ mechanised integration and a hollow earth never really work.
The little pacific island girl looking like she’s about to burst into tears every scene gets a big wearing too.
I’ve given it 6/10 but it’s definitely a one time watch I’m afraid ...
Awesome, simply awesome. Not quite as good as King of Monsters but pretty great. If you're a long-time fan like me, you'll be right at home. These movies aren't made for critics.
This is a great entertainment fest, with grreat CGI. Nice to see some lesser known but still well regarded actors playing the lead non Titan roles. Drawing from the world of conspiracy heavily to put the story across: Hollow Earth, the 33rd Sub level being a reference to the Free Masons. This film to me was all about metephore. Jia the innocent child who communicates in signs could be a play on the word Gaia meaning Earth. Godzila and Kong are also representing nature, Wild, dangerous but not intentionally cruel. Mecha Godzila and the company Apex represent Technocracy, the desire to be in control. Clever analogies being put to use, although not many will see the underlying metaphore.
@Curzie lol you missed the metaphor, the analogy and the comparison. However , you did spot that it’s a pile of steaming donkey pooh. I’m with you
@shabbapaul That could well be! I study the occult and Archetypes. Also big into psychology for the las 35 years.
Nice hollow earth and special effects. Big problems with scale - Kong is too big. Story jumps around, feels rushed, and full of holes. There were good actors, but few opportunities to develop characters meaningful to the story. A lot of potential in the technology which was just treated like magic.
Okayyyy...that was a weird one. I am gonna have to agree with Adrian here. The plot just didnt make any sense. [SPOILER] ...

I think I'd agree with other people from my contact list I've seen commenting, if I had watch this film. To be honest I didn't even finished watching the trailer.
While I don't want to give away the movie for those who haven't seen it yet, be prepared for the usual killer special effects; convoluted story line; some good acting; some not so good, monsters smarter than the people trying to do what, I'm not wasting my time trying to figure out; a mini- deaf kid whose only job is to look cute and make sympathetic faces; a super powered something something nobody knows about but uses anyway. I fully expected Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot to enter stage left. Fun movie? yep. Kinda stupid? Yep.
Destruction porn is great, but I skipped through all of the character "plot" after 30 minutes. Get better writers and give your cgi artists a raise, Hollywood. They carried the movie.
If you want to watch a good movie watch the one from 1963. This one was garbage. At least the one from 1963 you could laugh because it was funny, cuz the acting was just laughable, like when they would see people scream run Godzrea! And u then had to wait too here the dubbed English. Hahaha what a garbage movie. Godzilla vs Kong vs transformer PHH! Whatever.. thanks
What a upset uggh I was looking forward to this movie and this is ridiculous and horrible I can't even take this movie serious. Where is Zack Snyder when you need him to make some sense of this mess of a movie. It didn't come together at all and it was all over the place. They took some big name actors and good CGI and just said f*ck the rest. Really disappointed
The producers sure did listen to the populace's demands. 'Not enough monsters!', 'Too dark!', 'You can't see the creatures!', 'TOO MANY HUMANS!'....
Well, they done give you this here flick... Garish colours, brightly lit, almost no humans. No script to speak of. And it's a bucket of warm brown stuff. Where the last Legendary Monsterverse film had the gravitas of a Shakespearean king's drama , this has all the depth of Sesame Street (and should play well within the same age bracket). They destroy almost all of Hong Kong, which is probably why it broke the Box Office in Red China, but they do it like 'Oof that hurt, well, there goes Kow Loon!' Do they do it because the world is on danger? No, they want Godzilla to fight Kong. Period. The single ray of light is a 'voice' of humanity embodied by Kaylee Hottle, the mute girl. Terrible flick!
GODZILLA VS KONG - 'Dad, Godzilla saved us!'
April 2021
I was going to give this movie a pass until I read the wonderful reviews posted! (thanks)
A line early in the movie sets the tone - 'Dad! Godzilla saved us!'
Hmmmm, Godzilla saved us? I doubt the Japanese would agree. Considering the first release of Godzilla in 1954, the monster has destroyed Tokyo innumerable times. destroying trillions of invaluable real estate and millions of lives...?
This was the time to hit the pause and pour a glassful of Jack with two ice cubes - a long ride ahead...
How to enjoy this movie?
Forget the plot - as best as you can. Two-dimensional characters with a few mandatory teenagers that can easily penetrate the most secure top-secret military facilities and somehow - save the day... (OK if you're under 10 years old) The plot is bizarre, nonsensical with cartoon characters.
What is fun to watch are the monster battles, which most fans really want. Pensacola and Hong Kong trashed.. (as if Hong Kong doesn't have enough problems. It would have been more interesting if the robotic Godzilla was made in China but we can't have that...)

If you've seen the trailers, you've already seen everything up to the 50 minute mark involving Kong and Zilla. That part was almost skip-worthy, it's like watching boxing in slow motion...like weight wasn't relevant (you'll see what I mean). The motion in the fights get a lot better in the second half.
Pacing was better than any previous modern Godzilla movie with better lighting so you can actually see the monsters. The only purpose of the story was to get the two predators to fight each other (like Batman v. Superman so obvious who wins) and the characters weren't interesting enough to care about. If you've came here with the full expectation of action, then you've come to the right place.
1:20:00 You will see Kong and Zilla fight again. This part pretty much defines the movie, if you didn't like it, I would just stop the movie and end it there. Opposable thumbs VS rock solid reptilian skin + radioactive powers. What to do to even out the odds? Give Kong an ancient weapon...But of course they're going to set their differences aside and introduce a common enemy (last 20 minutes of the movie), which was PURE glory. First time seeing Zilla so mobile which makes it kind of awkward with the way his legs are built, but he also goes on four legs like a lizard which was fitting/satisfying to see.

Weak plot/storyline. And it's not as good as the prequel Kong: Skull Island. Kong: Skull Island was more like Jumanji, and this movie is more like your average cookie-cutter Michael Bay action movie, with nothing but explosions and CGI, with not much substance. I give this movie a 7 out of 10.
Just go into this movie looking for a badass cgi battle fest and you'll thoroughly enjoy yourself. Grab your favourite snack or movie treat put your feet up and relax your mind and enjoy, cause theres nothing here you need to pay attention for, it's just fun.
This is such a huge disappointment, I mean really, the old B-movie late shows we're better than this because at least they didn't give you high expectations and I use let down. The dialogue was terrible, the plot was transparent, the acting was just so so, even the CGI seem to subpar. I can't believe they wasted that much money on something like this. They could have saved a lot of bucks and just made the whole thing animated cartoon. It really doesn't Injustice to the genre and to the Beloved monsters from earlier franchises. Do not waste your money on this.
NOT a GREAT movie.. Not supposed to be.. I LIKE it, because its lack of pretension makes it FUN!
I for one thought this was a good movie, for what it is. A B-movie with awesome graphics, and battle scenes. I mean when you look up the main actors in this movie, one should know not to expect much in acting. I mean it has low level actor Alexander Skarsgård from True Blood, and low level actor Millie Bobby Brown from Stranger Things. I mean the only some what high profile actor in this movie is Kyle Chandler, who was in the 2005 King Kong, and as well as Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which Millie Bobby Brown played his daughter in. But if you look up all the big hit American made Godzilla, and Kong movies, you will see they all have high profile actors like Jack Black, Samuel L. Jackson, Matthew Broderick, Tom Hiddleston, John Goodman, Adrien Brody just to name a few. So if your looking for a good plot, and great acting, this is not the movie for you. If you want great special effects and monster battles like in video games, this is you GO TO movie.
Oh, now that wasn't bad at all for what it is.
Way better than I was expecting. Great CG work.
I grew up watching, actually NOT watching those black and white, man in a monster suit crushing cardboard cities and model ships in a bath tub.
Glad I watched it, fun time. I'm contemplating archiving it.
Monster movies have come a long way in the past 60 years. Appreciate it.
Great movie. The picture of what nature truly is. There is gonna be a creature on top of the hierarchy always, They will live their lives in a normal way as possible but when provoke or disturb. They will fight for what is theirs. This movie is a reminder that their will always be greedy and unmoral beings who wants to control and take over nature. But in the end nature will always out due us. Its either we preserve and protect it or expect the consequences of our actions.
The version I’ve just watched had perfect sound and image. All SI-FI imagery is good. The Godzilla and Kong are well done, but the problem for me, is the storyline go’s off in three different directions. Still a well spent hour and a half. 7/10
I am glad I watched this film for 3 reasons: 1-good runtime of 1h 50m, 2-never gets boring, 3-relentless impressive action sequences. Don't expect much from the plot but prepare yourselves for some epic monster fight scenes and some great ideas on visuals. If you have seen the previous kong and godzilla films then you will like this a tad more. But if you haven't, it doesn't matter; it will keep you invested throughout. Its at least a 7 because they kept it relevant to what it is. Its just a fun movie 7/10.
I expected worse. I enjoyed this one and would watch it again with the family. It made me want watch all the previous movies and I'm looking forward to any new ones.
We could've used Godzilla and Kong during the trans Atlantic slave trade. Watching a chained up Kong on a boat brought back some unsavory memories. We all know King Kong represents a Black man since the early 1900's and Godzilla represents the United States (for when she dropped bombs on Hiroshima and Nakasaki). With that in mind....I saw the message of "working together against a common enemy" with Mechagodzilla serving as that common enemy. Too bad in real life, after that common enemy is defeated... NOBODY rides off into the sunset. The CGI alone makes it worth the watch...4/5
I would like to know how they got back on Skull Island, sedated Kong and built that containment unit.I would also like to see that storm consume the Island like they said. It must have killed off the indiginous animals aswell, not just the people.
This movie has nothing new that you haven't seen before. It's a story that's been told and re-told countless times. The story remains the same, only certain details and the time period changes.
The CGI is done well, and so is the acting - some quality actors in the mix. But there are some glaring holes and/or inconsistencies in the plot / story line. But most viewers won't care as long as they're being entertained.
But what I was wondering was how the writers were going to conclude the story. As in, who'll win the titanic clash between Kong and Godzilla. Since both have become fan favourites. And from their respected movies, were sorta the "good guys". I won't spoil it for you on how they did it, but I did like what they came up with. Kudos to the writers.
VERDICT: Recommended. It's an entertaining movie with credible acting. Just park your brain before watching it and you'll enjoy it.
This was a good action packed fighting movie Godzilla vs King Kong saw this one when he first came out.i liked the fighting scenes where Godzilla and King Kong fighting around the buildings trying to destroy each other but King Kong was victorious in that brawl.all around a awesome film enjoyed it alot I recommend it to anymore that wants to watch it ya can you wont be disappointed..
8 * to Kong , the rest can suck it . Can’t stand that big lizard the movie was to much out of the planet technology.
original Godzilla was awesome.. what next Godzilla and Kong travel to Jurassic park?
Great movie. Clearly an analogy with massive metaphors battling it out. Kong represents one race, if you like, with Godzilla symbolically reflecting another. Also, stacks of other metaphors and allegories, not to mention parables and sub-text. Thus it's a masterpiece of modern cinema. A landmark movie that is already a total classic. For sure students will be studying this literary game changer for years to come. Only thing I will say is it's perhaps to complex and clever for some. They won't get it. This is where education comes in. You need lots of good quality tutoring before you can even look at this film. Can't wait to see the sequel. 10 out of 10.
wow such simple minded creatures the lot of you humans are its DISCLOSURE DISCLOSURE DISCLOSURE HELLO WAKE UP PPL!..what they are telling you in this movie is disclosure propaganda put together usually by good ppl behind the scenes..as well as the sarcastic just put it in your face and laff types who make it so obvious but know the public cant handle the truth..we have a hollow earth meaning what they are describing as an entire world beneath the surface of ours actually exist! the earth has many canyons and crevices beneath its surface with all types of different creatures and plant life within it..and to see creatures such as depicted in the movie within it is obviously hollywood fanfare but not too far off all things considered..Not all is as it seems look at this movie as within the scope of someone or some group is trying to tell you SOMETHING!
all in all this was a really great movie i enjoyed it..godzilla actually has a personality and is not just a giant lizard with a reptile brain..i wonder if they can delve into the story of the background of these 2 within the inner earth are they each the last of their species? GOOD SHOWING! Kong and the lil girl were the star here!
This was incredibly BAD. 75% CGI, 25% shlocky sci-fi. It was just so, SO horrible.
For me personally my two favorite Kong movies are the Jack Black one and the Jeff Bridges-Jessica Lange one.
Both are 10/10
Maybe I'm just an old fashion, die-hard Godzilla/King Kong fan. But I liked this movie. I agree, for what the title implies, it could have been so much more. But for what it's worth, I enjoyed it. I keep saying this in all my reviews, but I really wish they would leave the "drama" to the drama genre and put the ACTION back into the action movies. Movies like this should be non-stop, edge of your seat, miss your mouth when shoving popcorn in it because the action is so good. But it is what it is I guess. Give this movie a watch. You will not be disappointed.
master
Absolutely horrible. I loved the first modern Godzilla of 1998 , Will Smith music, cool monster and soundtrack. I even liked the sequals and Kong Skull island.
But this is just ridiculous. A totally weird mixture of Pacific Rim, A journey to the middle of earth and Alice in wonderland. While 1998 Godzilla still at least TRIES to make some sense, this is just a firework of CGI without any plot that makes sense.
Don`t get me wrong please I usually LOVE big action monster / hero movies and i don`t have too much expectations to logic, story etc. Avengers, Batman, Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy---all great entertainment.
But this is absolutely rubbish. I can`t go into details without spoiling but i was very very disappointed.ONE YEAR to wait for the first after Corona Blockbuster - and then THAT. An ape with an ancient axe. No thank you.
Even in 4k this wont get better.
4/10
@Adrian∞ If you liked that 1998 garbage over this you have no taste in movies so your opinion doesn't mattr
@CallmeHawk look buddy, just behave
@Adrian∞ It's just my opinion

@Adrian∞ Hi no problem.. I always value ones opinion..😊
@Adrian∞ Obvious troll review. You're so edgy and cool mods are right your opinion matters because it helps us know how stupid you're
@Adrian∞ NOT supposed to be a GREAT movie.. I liked it.. Kinda Godzilla/Kong meet Jules Verne 'Journey to the Center of the Earth'
