Tired of seeing a super hero. Need some kind of new and fresh chapter. I need more advertment so it can break a records. Emotions, suapence and action and above all animations.
Real actors are in danger 😁
A spectacular sci fi adventure with a soft heart and heavy punches.
I haven't read the manga and am not a anime fan but you don't have to be one to cherish this work of art.
Lets start of with the world of the movie. The dystopian world has been pictured perfectly it's like the pages of manga have directly been brought to life and that is a great compliment considering how hard it is to pull off the detailed stylistic look that mangas have. The visual effects are crucial to this movie coz if they were inferior then the movie would suffer on all the other aspects. This movie deserved at least a nomination for best vfx at the Oscars.
Rosa Salazar has given a moving emotional motion capture performance, she has breathed life into the cyborg Alita. We see the world from her eyes and are just as fascinated by it as her. Her chemistry with her father played by the amazing Christoph Waltz is genuinely touching and their relationship is fleshed out.[SPOILER] I can't say the same about Alita's romance with Hugo, their relationship just did not make me feel anything and Hugo was always like the damsel in distress that Alita had to save. But the scene in which Alita takes out her heart from inside of her and gives it to Hugo was really beautiful. ... Mahershala Ali who is one of the best actors working today is so underutilized in the film and I think that role could've been given to anyone else, same can be said about Jennifer Connelly.
The strongest aspect of the film is the action. The action feels so swift, fluid and dynamic it's like a dance of blades punches and kicks. The cyborg characters make the fights cooler with their various powers. 10/10
I heard there was a 2nd coming? i hope its true!! Read moreLess
I really liked the concept of the film and visually it was great. But I found that I didnt enjoy the ending trailing off into the cliff hanger without really resolving any of the main story points. Too much got left as a big question mark.
One of my favorite action films. Had so much potential and I think it put on a great showing but unfortunately felt a bit rushed to me. But still would be very interested in a sequel.
Pretty good movie, cool story and awesome cgi. Much better than i anticipated it would be. I kinda hope they make more.
This was not my cup of tea...
Remember Jurassic Park? It was the very first movie to make us realize reality is only visual data. THIS movie is - from the view of a CGI engineer- the next milestone. [SPOILER]if you have a look at Alinas skin texture when she is waking up---that is ART the story line is quite ok and bla bla
BUT--finally of my favourite actors is in a positive father role. This is an unbelievable MASTERPIECE.
Really enjoyed this, the CGI in some scenes was a little dodgy, mostly on the Big Guy, his movements were a little off. But other than that a great watch. I don't know whether i would prefer a prequel or a sequel.
Now THIS is what a movie SHOULD be - a journey, a roller-coaster ride, something that stimulates......! There is political commentary through allegory aplenty BUT it is not 'agenda driven', nor is it ham-phistedly shoved in your face and rammed down your throat from the get go. The 'hero' starts by being literally thrown on the scrap heap, discarded, yet through experiences and events, grows and learns. The viewer grows and learns with her, gets invested in her, cheers her successes and feels her knock backs. Additionally the film exposes the 'vindictive veneer' and shallow thinking of human debasing that is Identity Politics. The ultimate irony being that a Cyborg reaches the pinnacle of humanity by being more 'human' than humanity itself. I cannot recommend this movie enough. Fantastic CGI, exciting action, great cinematography and acting. The only reason for not giving 10/10 was it ended too soon! I sincerely hope at least one sequel is made as the ballad of Alita:Battle Angel has only begun. ... ?????? Read moreLess
Pretty entertaining movie with plenty of great fight sequences. Really enjoyed the story except [SPOILER]The Ending... I mean it just stopped when there clearly is so much more story to tell. I hate having to wait for the sequal.
My wife and I went the cinema to see this one and were very impressed at not only the graphics (mind blowing) but it was also a very captivating story line. Every character was well thought out and the movies is absorbing. The cinema experience certainly added to the experience but a good quality TV and sound system with low lighting should enhance your enjoyment.
Positive and heartwarming somewhat.
Having no background or preparation before seeing this movie, I was pleasantly surprised by the product...as was my wife, who is much harder to please when it comes to movies. An obvious setup for the sequel(s) to come, with predictable outcomes and plot, it was still a fun story. Sometimes it's not the destination, but the journey that takes you there, and this is one of those times.
Alita was a delightful character, Christoph was amazing--as always--and the others all did their jobs very well. I'm hoping this will be one of those epic story lines that continues to give pleasure in the follow-ons, and that the fresh qualities that made this movie so compelling won't grow stale in the future installments. I understand the need in origin stories to spend a lot of time on character development, giving you all the necessary backstory to understand the hero's struggle to achieve greatness, and they struck a good balance here, ensuring it was thorough, without growing too intrusive or tiresome.
... The special effects were seamless and believable, but not overdone--if you can say that about a film set in a world that is largely built with CGI--and in the end, it was the story, the characters and the acting that lifted up the film from run-of-the-mill to well-above-average, not the special effects.
All in all, good movie, good fun. Read moreLess
great movie live action anime classic..i would have preferred a blk male lead romantic interest think would have meshed better on screen but all in all good film
I enjoyed the movie. overall, I enjoyed it. It was a bit cloying at several parts but I liked Alita, Ido, Chiren and Idara's characters.
I wish you know who could've lived but I liked that it stayed true to the original. Ed Norton as Nova! I love it!
Please do better on the second script. It wasn't the best here, but I realize how hard it is to get everything squeezed into one film. I loved the URM flashbacks. Very cool tech.
This film was superb, great plot, great acting, great ending, great everything...wow! I really enjoy this one and recommend it to everyone who is looking for a great film to watch. I hope there's gona be a sequel and with that ending I think it will be???????
best giler movie ni.. xsabar rasa nya nak tunggu yang kedua
This 60 year movie guy liked this movie a lot. I loved the production value, and the universe that held it together. I would like more...but better than Sin City 2.
I was wondering when they would finally make a live action classic anime re-make that was worth watching??? Mission accomplished!!! :D
now.. wheres that ticketbox app? 10/10 and im taking my boys to watch this
Refreshing to watch a film in 2019 without sjw pandering.
Also kept intact many key moments from the 90's anime.
Worth a watch.
@Harry_Paul_Sax its also why this movie didn't get hardly any attention is BECAUSE it didn't have any SJW Bullsh*t in it. and also why it got so many bad reviews from critics.
@ChibiFan7 Correct. It was around the time Captain Marvel was released and look at the roohaha surrounding that atrocity and insult to intelligence. The lesson is ignore the critics, trust the people (but you obviously know that already).
I absolutely love the movie .Refreshing and very well done. I enjoyed every second of that movie, even though I never was a fan of such genre .Alita is the best CGI character i have ever seen. Rosa Salazar did a great job.Robert Rodriguez and James Cameron came together to create a new character "Alita" with a beautiful, innocent face & a warrior heart. Her large beautiful eyes looks pretty cool. They nailed it.
It has the an engaging plot with perfect pacing packed with explosive action and stunning fight scenes. CGI development Of Alita is very smooth .All characters are awesome.
All in all it's one of the best CGI rendered movies I've seen.Tons of fun and epic as heck.A must watch. 10/10
This might've broken Hollywood's live action anime adaptation curse. At least for now. It was so good. Engaging story, likable characters, and the visuals and CGI were just amazing. The action was great. So smooth and fluid.
REALLY sucks that this movie is considered a "bomb". One of the most entertaining films Of 2019...so far. Would LOVE a sequel. Super enjoyable. A definite recommendation from me.
Seldom they make live-action better than the original anime and this movie is one of the few. The film itself is a stand-alone regardless of the cast. The storyline is good from start to finish, The graphics/CGIs/effects are superb. The fight sequence/stunts were nicely done the and puzzling plot to how it all begun that will push your imagination to the possibilities to how it will end. A very good Sci-fi adventure film.
This movie is gotta be one of the best movies of the year!
This movie is really awesome. I was bored even for a second. This has everything. Action, drama, romance, Sci-Fi. One of the action scenes I never have seen it before. It was at the beginning of the movie.
The acting was superb, the cast was great, directing was great, the script was great.
Loved every second of it.
My review is 10/10.
Excellent imaginative sci-fi. Thanks for sharing your library.
This film is the perfect blend of anime and live action. I was entertained and engaged from start to finish. It is a film that does not need to talk down to it's viewers, although it is probably geared for a young crowd, the film gives all the elements of good vs evil center stage. The fight scenes are incredibly satisfying and mesmerising. I absolutely love all the cyborgs. The villains are incredibly villainous and they actually had me freaked out at their robotic parts. It also has a very satisfying ending. I may just read the graphic novel. Highly recommended.
This is actually a wonderful film, written 30 years ago in Japan.James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez created a really entertaining movie .Alita is a deep and meaningful film that portrays female empowerment, personal growth, sacrifice and loss.Rosa Salazar as Alita fantastically bring every scene to life. All other cast is great.
I really enjoyed Alita. The story is good enough to keep people glued throughout the running time. But film doesn't seems to have proper ending. It means Alita has potential for sequels. The CGI and the animations are spectacular. Some actions are fast paced .
So overall, a good film. Personally I loved it.I highly recommend it for sci-fi lovers.
Truly fabulous. Just saw it in the theater in 3D. I would highly recommend doing the same. Even when the DVD version becomes available, only in a theater will it do this film justice. James Cameron did it again, another masterpiece. Not even halfway through, I had already thought to myself how I want to see this movie again. What a thoroughly thrilling ride it was, and with heart too! Highly recommend (in a theater). :)
Good movie.. Lot's of action and lot's of good animation.. Great effects. 4.5 of 5
Look for a second release of this movie a they left it open..
Yup rave REVIEW from me saw the original anime stuff back in the 90s book series is really good. I am a sci fi , TWD and star wars fan . This Movie was all that's was expected and more . It has connections in all Canon plus new once ' twists and ending was fantastic. Just wished the link record would of waited for post credit scenes . I believe it will gross more world wide than most of the movies this yr. Based on the manga alone and toys . See we need great stories and writing , and less hate paired with over drawn sjw things that are not needed . 9.5 outta 10 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👌 💓 👌from me. So action packed drawn explained love story with in a live story. Canon whoo raa!
Wow. Everything I hoped for
The action scenes were superb, the acting too.
I’m a sci fi addict and this is the best film I’ve seen since upgrade. Also, it’s pretty dam violent. I would imagine that on a big screen with surround sound and HD it will be
5.5/5 for a truly fantastic film
I can't say anything bad about this movie. it was well put together, story whys and graphicly it was beautiful. if you're a fan of the anime movie or the book series. you will enjoy this action pack movie. they revamp the story so it isn't the same as the books or the anime movie. the end left with the hope they will make a part two. I had a great time & I'm greatful to the uploaders for their hard work.
not a bad movie
here's the trailer.... youtu.be/cislZ9S0ocA
Spectacular CGI. "Alita" looks amazing. good story.
If the viewer doesn't really care about scientific accuracy or pragmatism and let the emotion taken away on the scripter's fantastic world, he may enjoy pretty much this movie. I am personaly confused many times when the heroes that carry a big part of sexual influence on the audience are really young girls, reminding me early teen age. It's not that I feel this opposed to my religious beliefs that I could give a speech about it. It doesn't strike to me well as an ordinary man. In general the movie has great CGI and flood. I give 6/10.
@Nasos Indeed.. Alita was originally a female cyborg police officer named Gally so she should be 18+ to have gone through those Police tests and such but she's from a Manga (Japanese) background so that's why she looks "young" for an "adult" we know those all like their women young.
@Nasos Alita was actually an adult. Once she realized this, that is why her body developed differently and more mature into a woman, because she was one.
@Penelope416 Ok. Thank you letting me know!
just watched the movie.a must watch movie..:)
Quite entertaining throughout.
This movie is a must watch! Anime lovers will find this movie very satisfying! A great movie adaptation of an anime classic! still waiting for an HD copy tho.
Why do they have to ruin a movie with their asinine freakin' ads overlays? I'll wait and hopefully there will be links without that crap. I mean, that's why I watch this site, so I don't have to deal asinine advertising.
I honestly thought this was going to be an anime/steampunk style movie; neither of which is my style.
Wow, was I wrong, and happily so. Though the story is predictable at times, it was very well executed; and some of the best CGI effects to date.
Even if this isn't your style of movie, you should probably consider it all the same, and at least watch the first 20 minutes.
This movie blew away my expectations.
what a great movie androids i like an android movie, lol i never thought i could like a android movie so much, but i really do i love it it had a good storyline and action unreal i will watch it again soon i will never forget this great movie called alita.
this has to be the best movie in the history of filming. the girl brought out my fathering instincts like crazy. and the boy made me worry. highly beyond words recommend this incredible masterpiece that puts avengers, star wars, and bumblebee to shame. do not skip this one . PS... this movie will make teenagers whack it like a monkey in a mango tree.
its a nice movie with very interesting story line. i watch it two time. waiting for HD link. i just love this movie...
outstanding movie.i am just impressed....
I've been looking forward to this film since I first saw the trailer and boy, it did not disappoint. Tons of well-choreographed action, interesting characters, good pacing, and they left room for at least one sequel. The cam footage leaves you wanting to see a clean copy of the film, but since the movie hasn't even been released in the U.S. yet I'm not complaining. A very fun watch, solid 9 out of 10.
Wow, just turned it off. I don't know what to say, I loved it. Heading to the theater tomorrow.
Outstanding movie best watch yes it is ... Can't wait for number 2 ...
Well what an excellent film from start to finish the only bad bit about it was that damn russian ad that floats thru it but to be honest it doesnt really ruin the film. I look forward to seeing a cleaner copy one day. Anyway the action developed nicely throughout the film and ended in a frenzy. Characters were well played and all had depth to them. If you like scifi you well like this. 10/10........thank you all very much for posting this gem.
The movie is fantastic It has romance & action in it... Many actors are performing well. Rosita delivered a very great performance as Alita, no wonder the movie is great. [SPOILER]when Alita love interest died its look like its a tribute to Titanic and btw Edward Norton the main villain, now that's just fine 5 out of 5
Great movie,Awesomeness at it's finest the animation hope the sequel will be as good my scale vote 8.0
@Whiteshadow130 I have high hopes
"Great movie, the animation is off the planet"- hope the sequel will be as good, if not better. my scale vote 9.6
first of all, i havnt read the manga series.so keeping apart a readers perspective, its a really good movie, another good one from the manga , good story ,excellent cgi, great acting .alita's expressions were super. [SPOILER]losing the same love twice wasn't expected , but it turns out to be different . loved the movie but not dying for a sequel (nowadays sequels make the original first part looks degrading) , but lets see how different and better they can make it . this movie deserves to be watched on the big screen. loved alita , "can a human love a cyborg "
@madrocker yeah a human can love a cyborg. if they have love in their heart. it's alright
I liked this one. They fixed some of the lame/stupid parts of the story that were in the anime. I was worried at first because the beginning was a shot for shot ripoff of the cartoon. A useless fact: the anime (and therefore this movie) was set in the same world as Bladerunner.
Idk, watching robot tear shyt from each other is really entertaining....this was also creepy af seeing a human become engulfed with 'that'. Cyborg count me in. 4/5
So, I gave in and watched this film last night. I have slightly mixed feelings on this one. First off, let me get this out the way by saying. The amount of advance CGI work that went into this piece was very impressive (even with it being cam). I totally didn't recognize the lead actress as Rosa Salazar. Although, I knew there would be enhancements but my god! They created a completely new stylized protagonist with real emotion through outstanding CGI work.
Rosa's performance here was amazing, seamlessly her best work by far. Also, Christoph Waltz was a delight as well. I feel all the actors had good chemistry.
Now here's where I have mixed feelings, I felt that nothing was really hidden in terms of what the characters have planned. Almost at every turn, each character knew what the other was doing or just did it right in front of them. So, I felt like the discovery aspect was left on the floor in the writing room. That being said, I don't think the film is a total loss by far! Actually, I was able to still REALLY FUCKING ENJOY IT. And, my change of mixed feelings may fade after going to the cinema this coming weekend to see it in Imax.
So, I'm going to give this a 7.8 out of 10! Even with the slight mix of feelings, because, it was still a great film with a lot of emotion, awesome FX, and dive deep action. Read moreLess
Awesomeness at it's finest !!!
What a good little film this was a mix between real actors and Amime, Hollywood needs to ask the Orient how to do Amime, hollywood got a lot to learn in this area in filming they been left behind, with most of the worlds filming industry, what actors was used done their job very well. Even the story line was good one, ok so its not original been done before, but the tempo of the film ran smoothly it did not over stretch it selfs had a perfect wave motion between erratic and calmest points, it did not blur and over lap which can put you off from a films. any i think it would well worth the watch, i shall be coming back to watch it again, will well worth my while in doing so just to see if there was any partys i miss in the first watch, well you decide and let us know what you think.
Actually a real deep movie about individuals that are eternal , learning life's lessons even synthetic bodies. That story was the story and how it is a journey towards love is the answer.
I'll watch it again when the blu-rays start to show, but with my interest in Hollywood's treatment of Anime, I had to give it a watch. The effects were excellent, the action scenes were fun, and the story treatment wasn't bad. As this is the intro, don't expect much more than an introduction to the characters. The pace seems erratic, and alliances feel rushed. A lot of unexpected changes of heart, makes one wonder if the characters were fleshed out enough.
I'll be following this one to see where we go. The potential is there, and often all that needs happen is they don't screw it up. Seems most just can't help themselves.
As someone who works in 3D Concept film art. I'm personally excited to see this film, the only question is do I dare watch it in this quality or wait for the HD version?
The designer in me has me itching to hit play!
Dislike this movie so much, and it is scary to watch for the movie, and I really do not like it at all!
okay, we get it - your eyes are up here ಠ_ಠ !! it was so dumb to mutilate the natural beauty of actress Rosa Salazar's face, when the original manga only seemed to depict them enlarged for occasional dramatic effect and not in every damn frame. there might have been a terrific controversy if they had done that to any other part of her anatomy; it's almost as if they wanted us to look past the windows of her soul... [SPOILER]though it kinda makes you wonder about that kid Hugo, dunnit? (O_o)
as for the film itself: its alright to leave the audience wanting more, but you have to leave enough substance on their plates the first time if you want them coming back for seconds. this film was in development hell for over ten years and it shows.
someone needs to tell producer James Cameron that special effects are not going to make up for a poor script and lacklustre story. sure, his 'Avatar' made bank, but people haven't exactly been clamoring for the sequel he teased about making... like they're also teasing about this one [rolls puny, non-augmented, normal sized human eyes].
... fans of the Battle Angel anime should simply regard this as acknowledgement for the source material being that much better than what live action filmmakers could make of it. sometimes their eyes are bigger than their technological capabilities can handle, and really: they needed to envision the completed film first, without all those other things in the way.

Super awesome movie. Tons of robots and a lot of action. I give it a 10 out of 10. Can't wait to see a sequel.
Based on the past and guessing what might come this might be one of the best movies to come out this year.
From hollywood that is. Granted the story is way older and not theirs.
But amazing movie, good quality copy. Seriously need to see this on the big screen.
the story was good. my grand kids said i would enjoy it and i did. the action was incredible. amazing what they can do with effects now days. well worth the watch and will watch again when it comes out on dvd. don't miss it!
I've never seen a movie like this before with its unique effects...however, the story/plot wasn't that great. I know, I know...but it wasn't. It was entertaining and the action scenes were cool but it simply didn't draw me in like the way I was hoping it would. Similar to Avatar, it was an okay-executed movie. And I mean that in terms of caring for the characters and the cohesiveness of the pacing. I loved the premise and the original anime/manga it was based on...
This was way better then I thought it would be. I Usually don't watch cam quality with VFX but this copy was super clear. Alita with her amazing smile is my new favorite heroine,Rosa Salazar was the perfect model for this role.
The Anime was awesome, such a classic and way ahead of it's time. Looking forward to watching this, so psyched I've been waiting to see this.
@gustave13 Well, I had to go see it in the theatre and ...it was so worth it!! A solid job on storyline, an amalgamation of both manga and anime with Cameron & Rodriguez writing on Yukito Kishiro original material. It was a blast and a fun ride. Looking forward to re-watching it here and hopefully more in sequels.
Good movie. look forward to the rest of them. 4.5/5
That was exciting! Packed with action! Entertaining for an action story, and a little love story! I can see movie 2, 3, 4 coming out during the next several years! It is worth seeing on the big screen theater. 9/10
