🔸 This Day In History........August 15th 1969 *On August 15, 1969, the Woodstock music festival opens on a patch of farmland in White Lake, a hamlet in the upstate New York town of Bethel. Promoters John Roberts, Joel Rosenman, Artie Kornfield and Michael Lang originally envisioned the festival as a way to raise funds to build a recording studio and rock-and-roll retreat near the town of Woodstock, New York. The longtime artists’ colony was already a home base for Bob Dylan and other musicians. Despite their relative inexperience, the young promoters managed to sign a roster of top acts, including the Jefferson Airplane, the Who, the Grateful Dead, Sly and the Family Stone, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Creedence Clearwater Revival and many more.
... *Half a million people waited on a dairy farm in Bethel, New York, for the three-day music festival to start. Billed as An Aquarian Experience 3 Days of Peace and Music, the epic event would later be known simply as Woodstock and become synonymous with the counterculture movement of the 1960s. Woodstock was a success. *But the massive concert didn’t come off without a hitch Last-minute venue changes, bad weather and the hordes of attendees caused major headaches. Still, despite—or because of—a lot of sex, drugs, rock ‘n’ roll and rain, Woodstock was a peaceful celebration and earned its hallowed place in pop culture history. 🔸 Hope you are well...Enjoy the weekend and always stay safe. The second-generation....1970 ½ Z-28 Camaro Is an American pony car that was produced by Chevrolet from 1970 through the 1981 model years. It was introduced in the spring of 1970. Super Sport package, and the Z-28 Special Performance Package featuring a new high-performance LT-1 360 hp 380 lb⋅ft of torque 350 cu in 5.7L V8. The LT-1, an engine built from the ground up using premium parts and components, was a much better performer overall than the previous 302 cu in 5L V8s used in 1967-69 Z-28s....Two 454 cu in 7.4L engines the LS6 and LS7 were listed on early specification sheets and in some sales brochures but never made it into production. ... The 1970 model was introduced to the assembly plants in February 1970, halfway through the model year. This caused some people to refer to it as a 1970½. model, all were 1970 models. The 1970 model year vehicles are generally regarded as the most desirable of the early second-generation Camaros, since the performance of following years was reduced by the automobile emissions control systems of the period and the heavy federally mandated doing away with the front half bumpers. Sending well wishes and plenty of sunshine your way to brighten up your day. Remember to keep your head up high and a smile on your face.....Wishing you well......Stay safe my friend. Read moreLess
